An interesting statistic has emerged about Traore since his move to Barcelona.
He has more assists already than his entire time at Wolves, so:
a) Was he not trying for us (and Middlesborough and Villa)?
b) Is the Premier League really that much harder than La Liga (bearing in mind he has 2 assists in European rounds)?
c) Are Barcelona's strikers that much better than ours, or the defenders worse?
d) Is this 'new club bounce' and he will eventually return to type?
For all the Traore lovers/haters out there, discuss.

To your point b) I was reading an article earlier about Bryan Gil, Gil said "he (Gil) struggled with the physicality of the Premier League after his move to Tottenham from Sevilla"

Traore has an easier time in Spain after the physicality of the PL. Also, the contrary argument is that the opposing teams in Spain
haven't worked him out yet! In the PL, Traore went from 'unplayable' (said Klopp) to lukewarm loan interest from Spurs. His value went from a rumoured £70mil to £15mil at a time when he should have been coming into his prime. He's a riddle wrapped up in an enigma.

I think he is in his comfort zone where he first started and where his family is,
Everyone no matter what you do are always better in their own comfort zone.
I think no to (a)
Yes to (b) and (c)
(d) too unpredictable to say either way.

Or is he glad to be home speaking the samelanguage? Are The pitches different surface wise (shorter grass I'm told)? Different climate? Whatever I'm sad he left and glad it's working out for him. He's gone COYW

He's playing in a league that outside of the top 5/6 the level is worse than the Champ! Add to this he's doing it for Barca, so essentially it's like him playing for Liverpool BUT in the Championship! I rate Adama but there was a brilliant meme about when he went back there which was that Barcelona were one Attacker short of Boros 2018 front line and that Boro team was bang average! ?
It's good news for us anyway cause we should at least get that decent fee for him!

Some interesting views there and personally, I hope he does do well at Barcelona because then they will buy him. But as Abbey says "he's gone COYW" so we move on.

Fully agree longwolf. Add Adama to the 'lets move on list'. Nuno, Jota and Doc are on it too. We'll never forget their contribution to establishing us in the Pl and also playing in the Europa League, but we wish them well and we move on.

Probably to early to make a judgement. I will wait to make a judgement on him after his move is made permanent.

Traore is benefiting from playing in a team that like to attack and have a creative midfield. Not a bad front 3 with him Aubamayang an Ferran Torres. Also he has started every game and not sat on the bench for an hour. Also being back home was one of the main reasons he wanted to leave. He had made sn excellent start 2 of his assists came against Serie A leaders Napoli in the Europa League . I don’t know about teams below 6th in La liga not being good enough for the championship I think Valencia.and Villarreal who sit 8th and 9th would argue that!

Perhaps it is simply that football in Spain is not as physical as the Premier. Adama was the most fouled player in the PL, defenders would take it turns to kick him until they got booked. So La Libs probably suits him better. Still miss seeing him in full flow running at defenders, may not have always had the best end result but it was great to watch.

They can argue it all they like Taff the proof is in the pudding in afraid! I grant you Villareal (who are 7th so one place above my cut off) are also above Champ level but after that it's bang average. Even then the biggest players Villareal signed this season Danjuma, Foyth and Serge Aurier not a single one of them was up to the Prem! You mention Valencia they are mid table like you say but historically a huge club. However, they spent £9m net this season, Fulham on the other hand spent a net of £15m this season. Sorry but La Liga like SO many leagues has shot itself straight in the foot by not distributing the wealth within the league and now they are paying the price with a VERY average bottom half of the table.
