I've heard a rumour in house that we are up for sale. Any truth in this?

If we are, Mr Guanchang will not be getting a decent price!
After just 2 games, next weekend is a HUGE game. The very least we need is a point from our visit to Everton.
I am ever optimistic, our majority shareholder, MrGuangchang was over for the game. I really, really, hope he is here to change the Leadership of the Club.
Under Dalrymple, 3 memorable seasons, under Shi's direct control all of that wasted. Complete financial mismanagement which has created the FFP situation, 6 poor transfer windows under Shi and a failure to generate decent commercial income to offset the misspending on "big-ticket" players who haven't delivered.
That is ours and Mr G's issue Ragingbull, awful Club management!

There maybe some truth that we are up for Sale, That's probably what we needs to happen, Fosun have took us far had they can no more investment but I wudnt be surprised if a few more go.

RagingBull I heard this from Asda delivery driver on 11/08/23 and posted the same. You replied pmsl.
Was told it’s Americans and will be in three weeks which just happens to be when the transfer window closes and the owners have sold who they can sell to recover losses.

If it is a sale the timing seems strange. Fosun is a global investment company and would have been more likely to sell when Wolves were a more attractive prospect. At present they are a club hindered by FFP, which will be the same for a new owner, and a possible scenario of championship football on the horizon. It is possible Fosun are under pressure to raise cash, but what they would get for Wolves is small beer.

Let's wait and see, but looking at the history of US owners of English clubs, I wouldn't expect significant investment to suddenly become available.

I've not heard much of the sale since, think it's all twoddle tbh.

I would say it's more to do with the Chinese government instructing China based businesses to invest more into China as their economy is struggling and do not want companies to invest overseas. There is no other reason as to why Fosun would all of a sudden want to make Wolves less valuable by getting relegated (FFP is there but it's being a smokescreen also, as people in the Football Financial circles have said that the Nevis sale covered that issue). Their idea is get the funds in know then sell on maybe for a reduced value knowing that nearly £100 million has been already banked.

Chairman was dressed as an American would dress.
Doubt if he wears those clothes on a daily basis.

I'm out in Tunisia at the moment which is a majority Arabic country. Rumour over here is that if the Qatari bid fails for Man Utd, he will turn his attention to another PL club, possibly Wolves.

Jas, interesting. You're one of the sensible, reliable fans on this site, so I'll take your rumour seriously. I think our owner may have realised the scale of the task at Wolves to deliver on the original project's timescale. That said, every PL club is potentially for sale anyway. So, who knows. The tide has completely turned from the Chinese ownership model in favour of the-oil rich Arabian states. The only other viable ownership model is the USA.

Google English football club ownership and lòk at yhe Wikipedia entry, significant US ownership exists in the top 2 divisions.

Correction Jas, I meant that almost every PL club is potentially for sale. Have to ignore the sovereign-wealth ownership clubs. Looks like a Sheikh or a Yank is our only hope for a change of ownership at Wolves!

If we had taken our chances and won at utd drawn or beat Brighton by again taking our chances would this feed be like it is?

Believe in Raging that he posting rumour he heard that's genuine.

Football results are everything to fans.
