How many of you actually saw the game either live in the stadium or on tv? I watched on tv. Those that are so strongly opinionated that we needed a striker, please explain to me when a striker would have helped us today.

Hi New Jersey, I think it is more about our restricted options on those players able to contribute goals.
72% possession and no real goal threat.

To be honest newjersey we shot ourselves in the the foot on both their goals, but the second showed where a striker can make a difference, toney still had to get across and finish well. That said and to answer your question, I listened to radio commentary and have since seen the snippet of highlights. It was a loss losing cunha and of course we had murmurings of shame hwang wasn't available, but we carried on. Gon threw on fraser 2nd half and maybe there was a little misunderstanding or naivity, but it sounded like the runs were being doubled up or the wrong player taking it. Not vocal enough/confidence to tell senior players to leave it for him? Leminer took the ball a couple of times when he would of been better leaving it.
I don't think hwang or a 'No9', certainly not Fabio, maybe sasa, would have made breaking down Brentford with their frustrating set up yesterday any easier.
We weren't up for it bar the period around Dawson disallowed goal, ( which if had been given, the I think we'd have gone on to win.) and with referee hooper having a poor day it was frustrating. I feared we come down with a bump and so it was, we've been treated to a great run, we start again next week with hwang for consideration.

It wasn't a striker we needed. Unfortunately we lost Cuhna which didn't help, but we conceded a sloppy goal again! Sa or Dawson?
After going one down it allowed Brentford to employ their time wasting tactics, these so called professional fouls and generally every tactic to disrupt the flow of the game. The ref was poor and weak to say the least, however in saying all this on the day we just weren't good enough striker or no striker. We simply need to stop conceding early. Rather than a striker becoming a priority for me lately anyway we need a new keeper. Whilst Sa does make some great saves he is so inconsistent and his distribution is terrible. If as reported a Saudi club comes in and offers the rumoured £40Mil I'd grab it with both hands and get someone new in. Not Bentley he's not good enough either.

Yesterday was all about Cunha. Once he went off we looked flat. When we can we need to add quality. Unfortunately Fraser is too slow and Bellegarde isn't quite up to speed. I disagree Blackfords on Sa, he has saved us more times than his poor decisions have hurt us. GON can work on his decision making to improve that side, but finding a keeper who has the same quality would be difficult and expensive.

Let's not panic. Yesterday was an off day.

We have had great performances and dire performances.
Our level is probably going to be an average of the two over the rest of the season so not expecting Europe and not expecting a relegation battle, lower mid table will be fine for GON first season.

Jas. A voice of reason!

Reading many of the comments I can tell very few actually saw the full game before commenting. I usually watch the games without commentary so I don't hear any bias and can objectively form my own opinions.

Anyway, I don't think the referee was poor. Brentford didn't cheat or waste excessive time or get away with stuff they shouldn't. We had opportunities to score, even without a dedicated striker. We just failed to put them away this game. Our defense was poor, especially early in the game, and their mistakes are a big reason we lost.

Once Brentford scored the first goal, they were intent on not losing. They played counter attacking football.

We tried our best and attacked at will but Brentford put in a gargantuan defensive effort.

Their 2nd goal was a breakaway goal and up until Toney put it in the net, I'd totally forgotten he was even on the pitch as Brentford sat so far back.

Yes Jas. So correct.
I also forgot Toney was on the pitch. He did nothing for 99.9% of the game. His goal was good, but nothing spectacular. Did Brentford even have another shot on goal in the 2nd half?
I mentioned prior to the game that I expected Brentford would play defensive, cede possession and look to score on set pieces and counters. That is how they scored both.
Except they did surprise me to being aggressive early on. We were lucky not to have given up 2 or 3 goals before halftime.

Watching highlights on phone and on MOTD their second goal was down to pressing and capitalising on poor pass out of defence was it Dawson with the error?

My brother who was at the match told me we were very poor and was a rubbish game.

Yes Phil it was Dawson and he was at fault with the first goal also.
Central defenders are supposed to mark the opposition attackers and at least put in a challenge to head the ball- he did neither.

Silva scored again yesterday- I still think he will come good.
When Steve Bull came to us people said that his first touch wasn't good enough though his second usually finished in the back of the net.
They also said he needed the rough edges sorting out.
I think Silva is the opposite - he needs to toughen himself up and be more aggressive. If he does that he may become 75% as good as Bully and then improve from there.

You have the privilege of having the means to watch the game New Jersey for those who haven't like myself it's not nice you dishing others who have with their comments.
You threw the towel in a while back due to VAR decisions lots on here stick through wolves thick and thin.
If when we lose there's instigation of causing a rift in the pack what's the point of bothering when trust is lost?
Pointless me bothering to post now as reading reports watching brief highlights brief report from my brain ill brother is not enough to belong to posters like you.
Sorry feel upset about this feed.

tdbridgo nothing I would like more than silva to come home (wolves) and be a success.

Hey Phil. Sorry if I offended you mate.
I never turned my back on Wolves. I turned my back on PL and felt their VAR system was garbage. I didn't want to support PL by paying to watch games for a time. It is better and why i'm watching the games again.

During the time I wasn't able to watch games, I never made specific comments about how the team played. Why? Because I didn't see the game. There are many on here that are just parroting what pundits or commentators may have said without actually watching the game.

Sorry tdbridgo can't be having Silva coming good at Premier League level. Hasn't got the necessary attributes imo and if it wasn't for the big loss we'd make I'd imagine he'd have been on his bike by now.Id love to be proved wrong.

I'll say one thing newjersey when you listen on the radio you notice the delays and time wasting more as you don't have other camera angle and replays to occupy your mind . Of course I'm influenced by, and I admit, a partisan commentary team. But I try to take my own opinion from it and then assess from hilights. TV can be over biased too when we play the 'big city' teams, but not the wolves way.
We all take our own views, even if we've been at the game, and that's what made the game what it is, the change of opinion afterwards. We shouldn't knock people for it.
That's why we post on this site to give, accept and get different view points.
No insults to anyone's comments above just felt like giving my angle on our opinions on games. COYW
