Ever since Nuno took over and reverted to a counter attacking team the play from the back has been backwards or sideways. Since Nuno has left every manager has required the same problem all you have to do is watch the match against West Ham the first 20 minutes Was backwards and sideways passing. Why did we not get it up the pitch especially with West Ham playing a high press what is wrong with these players can they not think for themselves rant over.

The problem wasn't Nunos system (as I suspect will be proven at Forest in a few months time!) the problem is we recruited to suit that system and carried on doing so despite trying to change system! We recruited Semedo who was a wing back when we needed a full back, dito for RAN!
The problem has rarely been the system but has almost always been poor recruitment! Even now we sold Collins and replaced him with Bueno, fine in theory but ONLY if Bueno is just as good. If he is then why can't he get in the team?! Again dito for Sasa and Doyle! We have a decent squad and a young manager who's improving day by day. Now we need to see the club's recruitment improve, I thought we'd turned a corner there but honestly now I'm not so convinced! Just feels like a succession of managers now have had to spend most of their time using square pegs for round holes! It HAS to change else we are just going to KEEP repeating the same mistakes I'm afraid!

Yes I must admit the recruitment at times is baffling. S Bueno, Enzo where are they?
If Dawson was ill on Sunday, why play him if he not 100%. With Neto out why not play Enzo?
When we sign these players, they're wonder kids, solid, etc etc then we never see them.
Apparently we're after a striker and winger in January. Hopefully the due dillegence has been done and they can play straight away.

I agree Blackfords wolf. We seem to buy internationally or recruit young lads locally who never seem to see the light of day. We train them and sell them because they are getting fed up of playing only in the under 21s etc. We see teams like Liverpool, Man city etc playing their young talent who normally perform well. You watch Enzo get sold on in a season or two just like Silva will.

Question.

Why did Silva play well in Germany but not here?

We've had beauno totti gomes hodges Neto Kilmun ait nouri amo gst otgers all signed young and come through the ranks.

Sasa I think you mean goggs he coming back from long term injury whether he's fully ready and GON protecting him incase of injury before January so be fit to sell or just easing him back in.
In Germany why top clubs we were competing with for his signature he must of being playing regularly and was in top form.

But get where the feed is coming from,
We all want instant impact signings or more of a mix of the two, But it can take time for overseas players to adjust to the toughest league in the world.

Good question goggs (re:Silva).
Appears both Rangers and Celtic are interested now. Hope he does well but what sort of price are we talking?

If its Silva you on about he was on loan anderlecht Belgium and psv in Holland last season.
Both very much easier leagues but same as Sasa needs more playing time.
I reckon another loan for fabio silva with hope he does well and knock his price up.
I guess currently 10 to 15 million his price tag but feel that's been very generous.

The big problem with Silva is lack of playing time, he needs a run of games not the last 10 minutes. Others have 80 minutes and achieve nothing but they are back the following game with the same end result, and Silva is back on the bench deemed a failure after getting the last few minutes. There is no harm in giving him a few games, if he doesn't produce fair enough. Anyone who saw Hwangs performance against West Ham must realize Silva can not do any worse.
