If all we have really got is 47m for nunes then we have been shafted. Why again do we always roll on our bellies and just give players away. He should of gone for 65. We had all the cards and should be much stronger in our dealings. Doyle coming on loan with an option for us to buy for 5m but how much is this sell on clause that City has and is it valid for the length of the contract he is on when he signs?

The sell on clause is 50%. My Citeh mate is gutted! Really rates Doyle as a brilliant prospect, but Pep is stubborn, he won't give the youngsters a chance. His words 'he would rather pay a fortune for a clown that goes on strike - how many goals has he scored'.

Sky are saying its an 'initial' £47.5m with add ons to be agreed. That also includes Tommy Doyle coming to us on loan with an £4.3m option to buy. I think between the add ons and what (I suspect) is a generous price on the option to buy Doyle then the club will see it as near to the £60m they wanted. Waiting to read the details of the deal but sounds like we've done OK out of the deal the adds ons will probs be between (£5-10m). I think the problem is they will just want him out of the club now and if Doyle is up for the challenge then seems like everyone wins to me ?

Doyle is on try before you buy and sell on clause is 50 per cent but that shows that he is highly rated by them.
Santiago Bueno coming in from Girona who are 47 per cent owned by City.
One for the future with Enso for £5mill so all in all it’s not been a bad days business.
Three in one out and money in.

Surely you realise its all smoke and mirrors vb? You have to factor in the real value of both Doyle and Bueno. As mentioned in my rumours post it's an overall deal to save both clubs losing face.

The trouble being vbwolf was the two-faced ego of nunes going on a tantrum refusing to comply with his contract, it put us in a no win situation. If we'd held out at this stage we'd have missed out on recruitment's and been left with an unplayable skunk who's odour would have wafted across the squad for the rest of the season. The home crowd would have been baying for him if he'd ever walked out in a gold shirt again. Ironically the move will benefit him if he gets to play regularly and would/could have gone through amicably. Sadly his spoilt brat attitude has tainted the deal.
All I can say is I'm glad it's over, hope tommy Doyle fulfills his promise with loyalty to us. Suddenly the gloom I was feeling has lifted and I can look forward to Sunday v palace. Providing no more upsets occur. COYW

How exactly did we get shafted VB? We have made circa £10m on a player who we bought just 12 months ago. In that time, this superstar attacking midfielder has provided one assist, one goal and a few fancy runs. Additionally, he doesn't (and probably never did) want to play for us. Unless Pep get some consistency out of him, I think its probably City who have been shafted.
In return, we have an option to "try before you buy" on a young player with "potential" who we can buy for relative peanuts if we choose.
I think we've come out of this okay.

Sold MGW for 25M plus high add ons and get Doyle for 5M, genius.

Good deal.
Problem child removed.
Hard hungry British kid coming in wanting to prove himself, and we now seem to have a degree of working capital to add a few new faces.
Right, on to Palace!

I reckon overall getting Doyle and lad from Girona for small fees and 47M for a player who hasn't fulfilled any of his potential bar 1 game last season, is a win win for us. Doyle is a good player, let's hope he can hit the ground running.

another clueless wolf, we was lucky to get 47m.

Shafted because we don’t stick to our asking price and allow city to basically insert an insane 50% sell on clause into the contract so that if Doyle goes on to be a superstar city get themselves a heft profit.

But, but, but we're going to get him on the very cheap if we wish to buy, vb. You can’t have it every which way. He's not played a game yet and you're thinking a few years ahead when we might sell him. Perhaps you'd have preferred £30m and a 10% clause? Trouble is FFP thwarted something like that.

VB, it's called negotiation. Did you ever pay the original asking price on a car or house? No, you negotiate, compromise and find a deal that suits both.

I suppose we as fans never know the full picture so don’t know the extent of what happens in negotiations.
