Been a downer going out of the FA cup but let's look at a bit of humor of things that happened last night too.
BBC1 and that phone.
Floodlights going out for a second,
VAR getting taken out for a good few minutes too.

I don't recall anything happening on a live tv coverage match like that before, we made history.

Everything turned out a abit of a shambles last night, it wasn't exiting the cup, it was a pathetic way we allowed it with little apparent ambition. That said shearers quip to Lineker about how cold his ears must be made me laugh.
We looked promising until the lights went out too. Ah well get something on Sunday and the mood may lift.

Now the real challenge starts and the performances will need to improve substantially if we are to survive. There are plenty of expensive players at J disposal so he needs to get them to gel as a team, something that wasn't evident last night. Now that Sarabia is here perhaps we can let Traore go as he was abysmal and offered very little.

Traore this,Traore that as per usual. His delivery was hit and miss, yes, and he'll only probably be a bench warmer but I'd save the abysmal comments for others including the much vaunted by some Nunes.Jonny,Ait Nouri, Collins and Raul were also poor as was Lembisica but he has time on his side as does, to some extent, Collins.

Agree in many ways old wulf, traores always the 'fall' guy. If the ball is actually played for him to run onto (rare it's normally to him to collect) he's going to have to deal with 2-3 opposition get past them and no one's in the middle and he's got no choice but attempt a blast at goal from angle or speed which disappoints. Jiminez put one into the box last night, not a gold shirt in sight. Jiminez is increasingly in wide positions, he's our No.9? RAN literally runs out of space or tries being too clever holding the ball too long. It's no wonder pods is our highest scorer he's the only one who runs into positions and poaches the ball around the box.

It's always default Traore's fault for some isn't it! He gets better a rating from neutrals I hope he stays in the summer but to the haters there will be a queue to sign him.
Created chances last night, more than people who don't get slagged off.

Traore, 176 appearances, 9 goals and 4 assists.
Time to realise his time is up.

And you might have been right if your got your stats right Winton. BUT I think you'll find it's 14 assists not 4! And agreed that does sound bad for reference mind Neves only has 8 assists to his name in a similar amount of matches, do you want to get rid of him for under performing as well?! That's the thing with stats, easy to use but let's try and be fair with it eh! Could Adama have achieved more of course, still not sure why every poor TEAM performance is always his fault mind! ?

Thing with assists is Adama could create 20 chances per game but if the ball doesn't end up in the net he doesn't get an assist. Don't get me wrong he is hit and miss for me but the stats don't always tell the full story. That season when he was unplayable he had about Raul on the end of things, the season after he actually created more chances but we had no-one capable of finishing them off. Obviously this supply's to any winger just using Adama as he's the scapegoat COYW

Accept your points Bully but whilst stats don't provide the full story they do show deficits and advantages. With regard to Neves, he is a defensive midfielder as opposed to a forward player so eight assists more than ever shows the gulf between him and Traore who, as a winger/forward should be contributing far more than he is.

Winton - I'm pretty certain Traore missed more chances yesterday than Jimenez, Podence, Neves (ex free kicks), Moutinho, Hodge, Nunes, Costa and RAN between them.
How do you interpretet that?
He probably created more (potential) chances than everyone in the team put together as well.
I'd be pretty sure he also beat more defenders than the rest of the team combined too.
His record post Seville is poor but Nuno - as a true genius, (although he is also villified by some Wolves fans on Social Media as well) - created a system that made him famuosly "unplayable".
Since then, other than perhaps for the 2/3 months post Jan in Nuno's last year when he almost single handedly kept us in the Prem - conveniently forgotten/gnored by many - we have seemingly created a system that in the eyes of many also made him unplayable but with a very different meaning of the word.
But how many assisits would anyone have creating for Fabio, Jose, Costa and post injury Jimenez playing in a post Seville Wolves team?

I take all your points re Traore but maintain my view. He can be scintillating to watch and I hope, for the sake of the team that he can replicate some of his past performances. I just have my doubts.

Extremely disappointing last night. That performance, following the win at the weekend and the fighting spirit of the first cup game, was totally unexpected.
A new era will always have a few ups and downs along the way but there should always be a general understanding to fight, fight and fight some more. It simply wasn't there last night and a few of the squad probably signed their own release forms.
Ah well, two big challenges in the league to look forward to and then three games we simply have to take more than 5 points from.

I don't get this "appearances" stat. Does a 5 min appearance count the same as a 95 min appearance and if so, why?

17.) 18 Jan 2023

If Traore missed more chances than all of those other players combined, then he is much more involved in the play.
That is not a negative.

Winston my previous comment was posted before yours appeared. It wasn't personal to you but a general comment regarding Traore. As ha been said before he's Marmite we all have a different view of him polar opposites.

Handsome - firstly love the name! Secondly exactly and more worryingly what does it say about the "involvement" of the others.
Winton as with Ken apologises if my somewhat flippant comment appeared to be a personal criticism. I don't know if you have read my previous posts but many will know how I have bizarrely made a defence of poor old Traore as almost a personal crusade - sorry!
