I'm a New Zealander and have followed Wolves for decades I'm 75 years old, my source for Wolves rumours is via Wolves Rumours/Banter and Express Star. Can someone please clarify where Wolves currently stand. Are Fosun selling is Jeff Shi still involved, are Wolves selling players because of FFP.

The only honest answer is that no-one really knows what the status of the club is. Only time will tell.

No-one knows for sure it's all speculation but the rumours are gaining more traction by the day, I believe we are up for sale based on what i'm seeing, but ofcourse that isn't a dead cert it is just my belief.

Yes LindsayB, someone can answer your question. That someone is Jeff Shi, but he won’t. You could try giving him a call to express your displeasure and you can tell him I’m not happy either. Better you divert your energies to supporting the All Blacks!

Not a rugby fan? Strewth LindsayB, be careful saying that or the Kiwi’s will revoke your citizenship!

I understand your point Rated but what is it you're seeing that makes you believe we are up for sale? Expressions of interest from qualified buyers? Consortiums being put together? There is zilch!

Fosun are not mugs. We are not dealing with an entity like the Bhatti Brothers here. If Fosun ever want to sell, they will very publicly appoint a merchant bank to run the whole process and to achieve the maximum sale price possible. The Premier League will be involved in vetting a number of potential buyers. When Fosun bought us in 2016 they were just one of a large number of bidders.

There is not a single piece of concrete evidence that we are for sale, just fans reporting and repeating rumours.

Deep Throat there are posters on other sites who have been heavily involved in takeovers. There view is what Fosun are currently doing indicates a takeover or preparation for one. That is my experience as well.
As for using a Merchant bank is that what Morgan did?

Wittonian, so you're just repeating 'views' of other posters! My view is what Fosun are currently doing is.running a football club.nothing more, nothing less.

The sale from Morgan to Fosun in 2016 took such a long time that Lopetegui reneged on his agreement to coach Wolves then.

A £400mil sale in the Premier League today is a totally different animal to a £30mil sale in the Championship in 2016. Fosun would appoint a specialist merchant bank to vet the finances and credibility of every interested party, of which there would be many.

Get what you're saying Deep mate, it's just my beliefs as so many rumours about it on the level I saw when Morgan sold us to Fosun, it is just a case of wait and see what happens.

Good thread. I have to be honest here the more I look at it the more I think Deep is (saddly:) absolutely right! And Wit I wouldn't beleive a word those posters say about 'being heavily involved in take overs' cause there's absolutely nothing to show there's any truth in it (basically the same as all the idk stuff which is almost always trolls/fake)!
I think what is more interesting is how desperate we all seem to be to WANT to believe that we are up for sale (and yes I very much include myself in that so not pointing fingers)! What does it say about Fosuns ownership that we've all snow balled along with this sale rumour?! When as Deep quite rightly says there's not a single shred of genuine news to actually back said rumour?! Seems like a pretty damming review of Fosuns work that we are all seemingly desperate to see them gone right now?! I actually think their biggest mistake right now (and there seem to be many) is the complete lack of PR! This level of discontent from the fans is almost entirely because Jeffs lost all credibility and all we have had to explain the current crisis our club seems to be in is a mealy mouthed letter (which most of us wouldn't wipe something with:)!
Deep is right though, when you look at it openly there is not a single piece of GENUINE news that suggests we are being sold! Saddly guys I think we are all wishful thinking and that's the REAL tragedy to this story! Jeff needs to get this house in order else (as I predicted before) we will start to see banners at games and I doubt Fosun will like um much! COYW ?

Deep - strongly suspect that everything you say in the 2 posts in the thread above is correct particularly regarding the manner in which Fosun would act.
However far from certain re the £400m. Sadly whilst we were def worth that and more in the aftermath of Seville today I fear that ship has more than sailed.
If we go down and that has to be possible ( I still think we have enough to survive although rumours of further sales are scary!) the value of the club would plummet as most of the squad would have to be sold - simply can't afford the amort let alone the wages - and it is quite possible that we would struggle in the Championship both on and off the pitch.
Any buyer will be aware of that.
Note also that the underlying financial position - (the FFP issue) is v v weak.
Although we have lots of posters saying there can't be a problem or that the sale of Neves will have solved it (Along with the other sales this summer it presumably has for this year, (23/24) but obviously not next (24/25) year!) I'm far from certain that is the case.
Look at the latest accounts and extrapolate.
Turnover if we stay in the Prem is going nowhere ( if we get relegated it plummets)
But our principal costs wages and amorts currently vastly exceed turnover even before we buy a pint of milk a football or turn on the lights.
Those amorts and wages are reasonably easy to project given you know the tranfer dealings and the new contracts awarded.
Although it may not feel it we have made lots of "transfers in" recently the guys in Jan plus Cunha and Traore this summer.
plus of course "settled" with two management teams!
Consequently I thnk we are probably losing circa 60-70m a year pre players sales for the next couple of years until the amorts/contracts start to unwind in the summer of 2025.
Buyers will also be aware of that!
We have overspent massively and badly under Shi since Seville and the chickens are coming home to roost!
thanks Jeff!

When Morgan sold, everybody new he was selling.

I get what everyone is saying but there's not a single piece of evidence out there that we are for sale. Not even clickbait from a dodgy copycat football site. Just beliefs, views and hunches etc. Maybe just wishful thinking?

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE a sale to go though. When Morgan sold us in 2016 he fired the starting pistol on the process and I think Moxey said they had about 15 credible bidders amongst the timewasters.

This summer could all be down to ffp but not how people are expecting. We all know you are allowed to make 105 million loss over 3 years if it is underwritten by the owners. Where as if the owners won’t underwrite the loss it is only 15 million. So it could be fosun realigning us to be self funding luke they said we had to be all along.

There are opinions coming from deep within Molineux that we are for sale (rumours, granted). They are accompanied by concerns over the financial health of Fosun Int.

Fosun stock rise

As for public sale - It is unlikely Fosun would publicly market the club, as it would be unnerving for their financial partners / investors. Only once a suitor is found, the details will start to emerge.

Unsettling as it may be, sale is our best hope for both investment and stability. The apparent erratic management style can’t be endured for much longer without dire consequences - the best players leave, the club exits the premier. Those of us who remember the early 80’s know just how low the mighty can fall.

Deep Throat read what I said please. I also mentioned my experience. Other posters elsewhere with great experience of takeovers are saying the same thing.
Lopetegui turned us down because he took the Spain job.

This is what I don’t understand yes we’re selling players like hot dogs, but why aren’t we getting a few loan players through the door?

That's the part none of us can understand Wolfie. When you break it down if we were doing that there wouldn't be half of this sale talk. Cause the way we are running things defies logic, so peeps are trying to find logic with theories. Entirely understandable in the vacuum that is our current PR dept! ?
