I always said we could do with a complete new team. I've got my wish now.

I would have no problem leaving at least 5 out of that team on the 1st half performance against Huddersfield, if it's not working you have got to stop being Mr. Nice guy and do your job or else you will get the sack it was not working simple as that, second half lot better should of had at least a point but I'm afraid damage was done 1st half no doubt Zenga will have seen that, he is no fool and played at top level and will sort it, that's my opinion he as given them a chance and a lot of them have blown there chance for the time being I hope.

Mario Balotelli? could be a great move but I seriously doubt it.

Gornal1234

{Ed001's Note - it would be a great move for Liverpool......}

1.) 17 Aug 2016 15:06:10
Balotelli is a waste of space. Why any club would want him whether they are Champions League or Championship is beyond me.

2.) 17 Aug 2016 15:13:26
Don't go for Balotelli and pull the plug on Talisca. Both are bad for togetherness and team spirit and are NOT needed. Get the players that want to wear the shirt, not those whose basic skill is self promotion.

3.) 17 Aug 2016 17:33:00
Who? Names names. Who is better? No signing really wants to wear our shirt; they want to wear a premier league shirt, just remember that. If we were up there it would be different but to remind you - we ain't!

while we are waiting for some real news. I have been fantasising about how the strip will look when we go global.

The colours stay obviously

The sponsor will be Baidu (in cool Manadarin script)

But the Badge. In my opinion it definitely needs an overhaul.

Maybe back to the three wolves? Not the crest urgghh.

any ideas?

I would personally rather keep our current crest than go creating some Microsoft Paint mess. Just look at the pathetic efforts of Man City and West Ham recently; theirs are embarrassingly basic. I would however love to see us reintroduce the three wolves crest.

Ace subject :-) I like the 3 Wolves running, it might be good for how Robin Li sees our identity, competing as a team, but not sure it could work as a breast placed badge, because now the middle of the shirt is needed for the sponsors name.

I have 2 favourite Wolves badges, the one from 1980, the big black Wolfhead without a border and the name as a semi-circle over it (cuz other than 3 wolves running, I think it is our strongest badge ever, has so much impact, it stamps itself into your head and must cause great brand recognition, even when playing, like when we won League Cup final against Forest it stands out) .

Or the wolf head in the shield with a half white half orange (gold) background, don't know year but it was on the Manders sponsored shirt. The wolf head is slightly longer / narrower and so finer / more elegant than currently, I like the shield shape because it screams heritage and class, and the half white / half orange background is like medieval, and again screams heritage and class. I think that's our poshest / most up market badge ever. I found an original of it in a flea market in Shrewsbury meant for a club blazer but never used, stitched with metallic gold thread, truly beautiful thing, good as a Ferrari badge.

Weird thing is, that Manders shirt with that badge always used to be for sale on the official WWFC website shop in Retro section, I checked just now to find out the year it was used and it's no longer on their website. Maybe it was unpopular, they sold out and didn't restock, or maybe that badge won't be so retro anymore?

I like the current Hexagon border, but I think it's limiting. It's like a wax stamp of authority, like being a master in your own realm. And the border is almost like city or castle / tower walls around the wolfhead, again like it's in its own realm. So on Academy etc, for WWFC in Wolverhampton, it's perfect. But for the playing shirt, for going out and competing, I'd prefer a traditional shield or no border at all, as per versions I like above.

However, I suspect the Chinese might like the hexagon shape, while it looks modern to us, maybe it looks traditional to them? And apparently in Chinese mysticism, it represents the 6 plains of 4 compass points, plus Heaven and Earth, or light and dark, so maybe even ties into out of darkness cometh light for them?

Will be very interesting to see how our identity goes. Looking at Baidu's logo colours, if they sponsor us I wouldn't be surprised to see our gold (orange) going more yellow or even metallic.

Can't see the City crest has a chance, it doesn't communicate anything I can think would be relevant to Robin Li (or any other non Wolverhampton born buyer) . I'm certain they will keep the wolf image in some form, as someone said it links to Baidu's paw logo and Chinese are apparently now into "wolf chic", because to them the wolf represents competing as a team for the benefit of its community, like a merge between old Chinese communism and modern Chinese enterprise. The wolf is seen as a (even the) symbol of the future in China :-)

3.) 14 Jul 2016 19:23:28
Hello Ulf. I Hadn't thought to looked at the Baidu Logo.

I have now and the paw fits well. loving it already.

It would be a big change but if the man is paying - It's his choice.

4.) 14 Jul 2016 19:54:28
I reckon we will keep the WWFC wolf head in some form (shield, hexagon, or no shield) , and it will match up with the Baidu paw with them as shirt sponsor, everything naturally fits so well :-) I reckon weem definitely going to be a big club now.

And noticed on Wolves website we now have another new sponsor, Nuffield Hospital (who service BUPA etc) . So posh private health care - it might be a desperate attempt by Wolves to counter balance what they now realise is very down market and urban Moneyshop and be nothing to do with new owner. Or it might be a sign of how Robin Li sees us going forward, as something upmarket. And that needn't be a bad thing, unlike the Baggies who are one dimensional, just sensible flat urban and sub-urban, the great thing about Wolves historically is it's inclusive of all types, so taking the image more upmarket would help the image and prosperity of the town, hopefully though without people feeling excluded / left behind. We can all be on the up with this :-)

5.) 14 Jul 2016 20:06:00
Would like the hexagon to be replaced with a shield with the iconic wolf head in the middle. Maybe something like West Ham's old badge with Wolverhampton Wanderers or simply Wolves written at the bottom. Would also like to see our strip being actual gold (like Tottenham Hotspurs 3rd kit) as opposed to the colours of Hull City.

In my opinion the AC Milan and Wolves Takeovers are intrinsically linked. The Telegraph said yesterday that our Takeover should be confirmed in about 3 weeks - The AC Milan Takeover was delayed by 2 weeks a few days ago.

Doe anyone else think we are to become a Feeder club to AC Milan?

I'm not complaining - to see us on MOTD every week would be fine by me.

We might not be the new Chelsea I had hoped though!

Gornal1234

1.) 13 Jul 2016 18:47:52
Im not sure I would be keen on the "Feeder" tag, no matter how big Ac milan are, and that's a club I followed keenly when I was younger'who remembers football italia on c4?
We are a big club in our own rights'i doubt the new owner would want to stifle the growth the club could realise with investment.

2.) 13 Jul 2016 19:04:20
In my opinion the Milan and Wolves takeovers are quite separate. Milan is a Robin Li linked consortium. Wolves is Robin Li personally. One could go through without the other. Feeder club? It works both ways. I fully expect fringe Milan players to be loaned to Wolves to get first team experience. Don't rule out ambitions for us to be the new Chelsea, given time.

3.) 13 Jul 2016 20:00:21
I see your point Jimmy and Deep.

The Premier League generates mush more cash than Serie A.

But let's be honest - AC Milan are a Premier Marque. We could be a cash cow for Milan. And a testing ground for their players?
