Re Penalties, Why oh why do some of these players persist in trying to be clever taking pens, there is only one way to take a pen, good run, hit the the ball hard to left, middle, or right.
Rashford would not have been my choice pen taker.
And very unfair of Southgate to choose the two young lads.
Grealish was up for taking one.
But its down to Southgate.

Should draw up a list before the game putting every player in order they are to take penalties, if you’re still on the pitch at the end you know which penalty you’re taking, if you get subbed the sub takes your penalty, only Kane and Maguire new in advance they were definitely taking one, the other three had all the pressure heaped onto them at the last minute, no wonder it was a shambles, poor management by all concerned.

Well the time has come for Fosun to help Nuno with some new players, question is who chooses the players?
But Nuno does have to take responsibility for coaching methods, style of play, team selection.
Its not a matter of being negative, you can. t get away from what you see game after game, its gone on long enough.
Midfield should have been addressed last season and wasn't.
Its no good pretending things will improve, several players need to go to make room and money for new blood and especially getting the right players, to much money has been wasted on also rans.
True supporters like most of us do not enjoy being negative but the truth always hurts sadly.

Hi Yellowstone all your points valid and I believe every wolves poster on here is a true fan.
I prefer to be just happy go lucky every game I believe we will turn it around but most games I have been left disappointed.
Podence I had high hopes our fortunes would change when he came back from injury but the last 2 games I have been unimpressed with him and today I was livid as how I saw it he tried cheating the ref and var for a penalty, there was nothing wrong with him and the Burnley players reaction was justifiable.
Traore should of seen red.
Next season I will judge more but it depends on who we sign and who we sell.
Lol I will be up for it again agaisnt the baggies but definitely no exuberant feast before the game.

This is very true yellowstone. Surely nuno has to decide how he wants to play then the 'club' must ensure their procurement to suitable standard and personality. I get frustrated with the across back across back long ball and back. We very rarely get bodies in the box, and we very rarely score more than 1 or 2, you can't score passing around the area. Also the short corners and free kicks wasted by trying to be clever. So I think a lot of reassessment must be made regarding existing staff in all positions. A new wolves if nuno gets his men with fosuns backing will be exciting otherwise I fear we'll be struggling.

Quick question Realist how do you know Nunos spent the money exactly?! Do you think Nuno suggested giving Mendes £6m of the Doherty transfer, unlikely! Cause from where I'm sitting one of the clubs biggest problems seems to be that our transfer policy doesn't fit our playing style?!
Spot on Yellow, Fosun have to step up but we also can't ignore the fact that in terms of tactics and more importantly performance this team has done nothing but slip backwards all season! I think your right I think Nuno needs to have a major shake up. To many of those players walking around the pitch today look to have become FAR to comfortable with losing for my liking! COYW ðŸº.

I was surprised by the lack of commitment. We lost the ball in midfield 50/ 50s far too many times. We showed little urgency at times, Saiss indecisive, defence unable to defend crosses. Its Burnley we knew they were coming. Roll on end of season.

I was surprised Kilman didn't start. When you think how poor we are against big robust centre forwards, it was crying out to play Kilman over Coady today. To not bring him on at even half time was criminal. I unfortunately believe it is time for Nuno to move on. He is not learning any lessons from previous encounters and we have become stale. I love Nuno but he has reached his end with Wolves in my opinion. We need some new ideas.

So after trying to calm down after watching that C@#p today I have only one thing to say, the positively I had has diminished, that has to be the worst display I have seen in a very long time.
Every 50/ 50 wasn't contested, the constant giving up possession, the defensive display was that of a boys against men, full of individual errors, ball watching, half arsed attempts to make a tackle, and worst of all no idea on what to do, that I firmly put down to the players on the pitch, saying that it was clear to see we were over run in midfield again, Neves is looking worse as the season goes on, but that's down to formation, the front 3 needs to be changed to 2,as its clear the players we have cannot play that system, its was ok having it when u had Jota and Adama wider with Raul down the middle, Podense Jose and Adama are took wasteful and don't get in positions to play that way, I had high Hopes for Podense, but he has done nothing to warrant a starting spot, I'd prefer to see a body in the middle of park, this constantly trying to play counter attack from our own half and nobody to play to is no use, that I blame Nuno for.
Now is the time to get rid of the dead wood and send all loanees back, Bring back Vinagre and Mir, try and sell Semedo as he just is not upto it either defensively and attacking, our worst buy in a while.
Mendes needs to he put in his place too, since Thelwel and Darymple left we have gone backwards.

No excuses for todays performance. so here's my excuses. :)
Seriously the team has not been the steady ship of the last few seasons with players in and out largely due to injuries.
But today wow. second to every ball, as soon as a player laid the ball off, it was like his job was done and he became static, no thought to move and make himself available again.
Effort really did seem lacking, compounded by some horrific individual performances.
Looked like the players have decided the season has ended early, would have been slightly different with 30k wolves fans shouting from the stands, hey ho.
Next season can't come soon enough.
Only pluses for me Silva looks like he's getting less lightweight, Samedo looked like he triewd to put a shift in with no support and Ait is improving game on game but a way to go.

@Camo, agreed I rate Killman highly, not sure what the issue is with him but Nuno does not seem to like him.

We will take the 3 point but it was poor against the bottom club.
looking back 3 years we were lucky, and fortunate to have Jota, Helda Costa, Cavaleiro, Jonny Otto, Boly, Jimenez all Fresh faces and they played well together.
Some have moved on for different reasons, and it's gone stale.
Poor transfer window, injuries, style of play have all contributed to the failure.
The writing was on the wall last season to many draws, lack of goals etc.
Next season will be the same unless things change.
We need 6 players 2 defenders, 2 quality midfielders, a Striker.
Semedo not good enough
Jose not good enough
Podence is only just ok
Marcel injury prone.
Vintinha not really impressed
Boly past his best
Neto won't be back till end of year.
Will Jimenez be the same as he was given his age and injury.
Will Jonny recover well enough.
All we can hope for next season is a solid mid table finish, we just do not have the players or finance to expect anymore

I agree with most of your post yellowstone but disagree that Boly is past his best.
2 LB/ LWBs assuming we sell Vinagre - I have posted many times that RAN is a defensive liability and Marcal can't be trusted to stay fit. I would like to see Sanderson get a go at CB but agree we need at least one new CB to give us some depth.
The midfield needs a complete overhaul to add some creativity and this is where I expect a lot of transfer activity to be, plus 2x forwards to cover Raul and Neto.

Semedo not good enough? Have you even been watching the last few matches he is one of our most improved players and getting better every match, it was his block that set us off for our goal last night.
Vinthia not given much of a chance but his pass set Traore off on his run last night which Traore fluffed the shot.
Podence agree seems to have gone backwards but give him a bit more time as not long back from a long injury.
Boly makes those vital challenges and has been crucial in our defence.
Marcel agree with you on him.
Jose let's see now he has his goal technically that's 2 goals in back to back matches for him I don't care what VAR says he still scored last week, both very good goals too.
Agree with you on players we need coming in.
But as always Yellowstone I enjoy reading your posts mate.

The difficulty is going to be able to replace those players you have highlighted.
If you calculate their current market value you can presumably expect to have to pay more for their replacements!

Yes I do watch Semedo, I watch him get to the halfway line and turn around and pass backwards, afraid to take on his marker, for a 26yr old experienced player who should be at the top of his game he is poor, He is neither a good defender or a good wing back he is just OK.
And with Jose, One swallow does not make a summer, He is not good enough, I just hope we do not buy him, his body language tells you that, good strikers are hungry for the ball where ever it is.
Forgot to include in my to go list Moutinho past his prime I could do his job for far less money, backwards, sideways, 5 yard passes.
I also think Traorie should go to inconsistant.
Also Neves is not the same player he was although He will become a star used differently at another club.
Nuno needs to overhaul the coaching staff and gets some help, or has Nuno took us as far as he can.

Yellow- he was good enough to play 82 games for Barca, so yeah I think next season he will continue to improve. And no I'm not saying we are exciting to watch what I am saying (again and again these days it seems) is can we please have realistic answers! Just saying sell the lot and replace them with the money made on magic beans isn't especially constructive or useful to be honest!
I'll have a go, for me the biggest problem this season has been injuries. Coincidence or not we didn't have these issues when we had Phil Hayward as Head Physio. Pretty sure we lost him to LA on wages, if I was Fosun I have would be breaking the bank to get Phil back to the club! I can't help feeling he called the clubs bluff on a move, it might be time to accept that he was right and we should have doubled his wages?! Just one idea.

Yellowstone- I agree 100% with you about Semedo he can’t defend, gets caught ball watching and his body language says it all. He has improved slightly going forward but like you say he often sprints forward then turns around and passes back. As regards his 82 games for Barcelona how much defending does a full back do for them in La Liga? We’d have to sell him at a loss probably back to a team in Spain or Portugal, he’s not good enough for the Prem IMO.

Seems like Good recruitment to me, you slate Semado, questioning his time at Barcelona suggesting he wasn’t good enough as they got rid, he didn’t play a few games there buddy he played 80 plus so I think they rated him to be fair, 5 seasons ago we were a crap championship side hoping to stay up and dreaming of a play off chance, now we are an established prem side with 2 top 7 finishes and possibly a top 10 finish again and lightly to have a bright future ahead and you moan, that’s sorry but you sound like doom and gloom to me mate.

Whatever has gone on we do not know, one thing is sure things had to change.
as much as I love Nuno, the time is right for Fosun to let him to go,
Nuno does seem to have lost the plot this season injuries apart there has been to some poor team selections our style of play has to change.
I think even jimenez would have struggled to score in this team.
The midfield problem was never addressed, when it was plain to see by us all.
The poor transfer window, the money was available and wasted.
Things not the same since Jota, Doherty.
Who we appoint we tell us whether Fosun are prepared to continue to go forward and back the team.

I would say Fosun are a bit disappointed, with the money spent and results.
you can't blame it all on the loss of Jimenez, yes he would have probably helped win a couple of matches, but he wouldn't have stopped us conceding last or first minute goals.
The lack of goals and midfield has been a problem for months we should have purchased a quality midfielder in August/ Sept.

Jimenez seems to be struggling at present for what ever reason 60 mins is enough for him at present give Fabio more pitch time.
I can understand doing last min subs if your winning.
I like Brun's style we must put these chances away or struggle.

So much for Nuno being homesick.
Speaking to a Fosun employee, All their staff are given a specific contract's and are expected to perform and deliver to that contract,
The terms and conditions of their contract are quite rigid.
As with most Chinese firms they do not tolerate poor results.
So Nuno had very little width in what he could do, apart from coach, which in the end he was so relived to go.
Jeff Shi will be in the so position if the club performance is not up to expectations.
