Re DA Silva, for me he his not good enough, He does not seem to have any HUNGER to score goals, even with a lack of service, very poor in the box.
Fabio was unlucky not to score and should have come on much earlier not in the 80th min, at least Fabio gets in scoring positions. once he gets a goal he will improve.

Re Neves apart from his goal was very poor, seems to have lost his shooting ability, shots on target nil.
Although Traorie did well I wish he would over doing his dribbling across the box.
We will take the draw, but were lucky.
The goal famine continues, not enough shots on target, repeatedly giving the ball away. But we are almost safe, it could have been so much better with 3 points.

Two of the front three are just playing for themselves, don’t pass to each other and don’t even acknowledge the Centre Forward is there, Doog, Richards, Gray, Bully, Mutch, Kelly, Ebanks-Blake, Miller, Griffiths, Sturridge and the likes don’t know how lucky they were when the ball used to come in the box, Jose wouldn’t be waiting for his first goal if Waggy or Robbie D was alongside him.

2.) 28 Feb 2021 11:31:35
You may be right in that Jose may not score but last night it was he who dragged the defender away with his movement in the box which allowed Neves to creep into position to score. Likewise, Neto took a wayward shot when Jose was in the perfect place to receive the ball and score.

3.) 28 Feb 2021 11:38:33
Traore with his header at the far post Jose was waiting to tap it in if Traore had headed it across goal.

4.) 28 Feb 2021 13:00:25
Silva no hunger are you serious?
He gets in better positions and isn't afraid to shoot.
He had a header saved by a miracle save too give the lad a break, if we had a midfield then more goals would come for him and Jose would have a couple of goals too.

5.) 28 Feb 2021 13:35:12
Rated I'm confused by your reply, please read my post again.

Re Da Siva = no hunger, no shots, no headers, no movement in the box, you have to make yourself available to receive the ball irrespective of poor service, Fabio does

It was Fabio Silva who had the miracle save and gets in better positions than DA.

Fabio should have been on at halftime he will be ok,
Yes we all know about the midfield.

6.) 28 Feb 2021 13:47:37
A fortunate point and could have nicked the 3 at the end. We’ll have to up our game on Tuesday and defend better. I’d start Hoever at right back instead of Semedo whose defensive frailties continue. Don’t know what’s happened to Neves apart from his excellent goal he was woefull. Well it’s not as if we haven’t beaten them before so if we are at our best we can do it again.

7.) 28 Feb 2021 15:00:10
Yellowstone who do you mean by DA silva? Do you mean jose?

8.) 28 Feb 2021 16:15:13
Yeah my bad Yellowstone mate that's what happens when I reply before coffee lol.
Apologies mate.

9.) 28 Feb 2021 16:51:25
No problem Rated, I suppose I should state Jose Da Silva, he is not good enough is he.

Fabio will come good.

10.) 28 Feb 2021 18:05:21
Jose as been a disappointment I agree and his enthusiasm somewhat lacking, but I still believe he is the correct player to start with. As phil commented earlier we don't get to see his moves fully on tv and there no doubt he takes defenders with him. Last night he provided the pass to neto then got near post to open up the space for neves. Nuno commented on spotting the opportunity of using that space with the misfitted left back vulnerable. so jose played the part. He got penalty award v arsenal and our overall performance with him as been better. (Although ottos return as well) . Fabios goals a pen and a no miss chance courtesy of boley. Then a no part player to a slowly integrating role but missed the golden chances that £35mil shouldn't. Last night his time on the field he showed much more promise and did what was asked of him. A shame it never went him for him in such a flukey way, but those 10 mins dosnt represent the input of the presence he'd bring from the start. He's gone up in my estimation but not a starter for me yet. Get City vile and Liverpool out the way and then give him his chance.

A Thought for Sunday.

Leave Traorie on the bench

Play Podence on the right wing with

Fabio Silva and Da Silva up front, with Neto doing what he does.

Da Silva's strength will help Fabio.

Remember Doog and Richards.

It just? might work with more goals.

1.) 05 Feb 2021 11:48:25
My team would be
Patricio
Boly. Coady. Kilman
Hoever semedo
Dendonker. Neves. Moutinio
Neto
Jose

don't care if they score 3.
Aslong as we score 4. 😄.

2.) 05 Feb 2021 17:19:56
Greyleg - v defensive - effectively 8 men behind the ball? - but totally understandable given our limited options particularly at the back especially LB (Semedo prob best of some v bad options) .
Would rather only play 2 in mid - even tough we have struggled with just 2 there - as I feel we need something going forwards and asking a Neto/ Jose combo to do it all alone seems optimistic?
But not easy is it?
It will be so much better when Saiss, Otto and ( if it ever happens ) Jimenez back- how we have missed them!

3.) 05 Feb 2021 17:46:25
See ya point mate.
Would love see traore start, but I think we need to have a strong presence in midfield, would be good bench with traore, podence, vitinha on it anyway,

4.) 05 Feb 2021 18:42:04
Grey leg - tks
I wasn't criticising at all just commenting and don't disagree re the need to solidify midfield.
It really isn't easy is it
Leicester are a v good side with lots of pace and skill in mid and upfront.
But they aren't that fast at the back without Fofana and maybe Neto and Traore could get as much joy as they did v Arsenal
Lets fight fire with fire!
As you say score 4 to their 3!

5.) 05 Feb 2021 20:54:23
Ok mate. Yes let's go for it, coyw.

03 Feb 2021 09:46:04
Well we'll take the 3 points with the help of,
Var
The Referee
The crossbar
There goalkeeper
Our goalkeeper
a moment of magic from Moutinho

We have found the answer we just play against 9 men.

yellowstone

1.) 03 Feb 2021 10:33:12
Agree. Keown with his typical hindsight commentary. Let's be honest we have world class players and we can't keep a ball. Neves clearing the ball straight to their players even when looking up. Kilman missing a 5 yard pass, putting the ball straight out. Arsenal should have been 4 up at half time. We will stay up but my god what is going on.
A very disappointed fan here. It must be bad as I let my kids watch the first part of Emmerdale. This has never happened before. Even with 9 men we still passed sideways and left 4 at the back. The mind boggles. Look at Man Utd when Southampton went down to 9 men. Piss poor management.

2.) 03 Feb 2021 10:58:07
We did not play 9 men until the 74th minute, we did not play 10 men until the 46th minute. Man u played 10 men from the 2nd minute and were 4 up at half time. I belive you creat your own luck, did arsenal hit bar because of very poor finishing or did the spread of good goalkeeping force him to miss. Their sub goalie made 2 reaction saves then kicked a ball out for a corner to us. They set second half with 2 lines of 4 to defend, moutininho scored from distance. Yes we are not the quality of others and we can't expect to be functioning as we did with injuries etc. Nuno laid out a team with intent last night, we got our luck we won. Well done everyone at wolves.

3.) 03 Feb 2021 12:57:49
Bang on Abbeywolf I for one totally agree,
some wolves fans can be so negative at times, when things go our way we are lucky apparently but when things don’t go our way we are supposedly rubbish, it’s not luck that Luiz gave away a pen and was sent off as we would have scored otherwise and that was 11 against 11 and there was no luck in our winner it was jus a quality strike and it was not lucky that there keeper was sent off as he deliberately handled outside the box preventing traore a free run in on goal and a tap in,

21 Jan 2021 09:36:06
Its good news Re Willian Jose,

Strange career he's moved about a bit.
Having said that I recall Wolves having The DOOG's best years at 29 let's hope he is similar.

should been done earlier and not had Cultrone back.

yellowstone

1.) 21 Jan 2021 15:09:22
An old lady fell down in the precinct this morning, nobody near her just collapsed. There is some good news though, she's signing for the Villa tomorrow, stand-in for Ghoulish.

2.) 21 Jan 2021 16:36:51
Personally I don't think 29 is too old for a striker these days. Good strikers mature with age. If he's looked after himself, he could have another 4 or t years at the top. Have to admit I don't know much about him or what his injury record is like. That would be my main concern but I would hope wolves have done their homework on him and are satisfied he fits the bill. Really looking forward to seeing him play now.

3.) 21 Jan 2021 17:09:30
True. Look at Cavani. World class still at 34.

4.) 21 Jan 2021 20:00:53
Exactly Sharesum.
This fella, if he does indeed sign, has a similar history and record to Raul who let's be honest none of us knew of before he came to Wolves.
Similar physical presence and age to Raul too.

18 Jan 2021 09:52:52
Good morning all,

The current team situation will ALWAYS go back to the August/ September transfer window especially not strengthening the Midfield which is badly needed. we spent money on overpriced players.

Its the engine room of any team, is the midfield creative, ball winning types, we should have signed Paulinho when we had the chance.

yellowstone

1.) 18 Jan 2021 12:03:10
So yellowstone, you mention how the midfield and how it is the engine room and then the only player you mention we should have signed is Paulinho. Which one? The 32 year old who is 1 year into a 4 year deal at £300k a week or the one from Braga - the striker?

2.) 18 Jan 2021 13:07:07
Jas I meant the Brasa one he was available at around 16 mill.

3.) 18 Jan 2021 13:22:20
Jas, sorry to go on a bit neither of Neves, Moutinho are capable of striding forward with the ball, you must remember the Mike Bailey, Kenny Hibbitt, Paul Ince, the most aggressive strong ball winning midfielder at present is Owen Otwasie.
You can look back over time stikers can only do there job if they get the support from midfield, you must admit we slow and one paced in midfield.

4.) 18 Jan 2021 13:50:02
On a similar but side note. re the speed of our midfield
Do you recall Karen Carney going on about fitness a few weeks ago and how it was so important to Leed's game plan.
Well not only is our team slow - bar Traore and Semedo and perhaps Neto- but we run the last yards by a lot, play passively and slowly for long periods - traditionally the entire first half -yet still feel the need to shut up shop for the last 15, (often costing us points) presumably as the players can't last 90 mins?
Are we the least fit/ athletic squad in the league?
Has Nuno built a system to cover up these shortcomings and by changing the system we have been exposed?
Just yet another v negative post - sorry - depressed!

5.) 18 Jan 2021 14:30:42
least.

I suppose it will be middle of Feb before we see Willian Jose by the time he's settled in and been isolated for 10 days.

Sorry jas your correct.
I have been disappointed with him for while it's not as if his attacking skills make up for his defensive frailties.

I would say Fosun are a bit disappointed, with the money spent and results.
you can't blame it all on the loss of Jimenez, yes he would have probably helped win a couple of matches, but he wouldn't have stopped us conceding last or first minute goals.
The lack of goals and midfield has been a problem for months we should have purchased a quality midfielder in August/ Sept.

Well Jas, Having seen Semedo several times, Defensively he is poor, he is not any better than Doherty, just younger, at 26 he should be in his prime, prefer Ki Hana Hoever. think when Jonny otto is fit he will be 1st choice.

At the moment nothing would suprise me who goes, don't think camp is as happy as they portray, the team was fine as it was last season just needed tweaking with a couple of good players to improve our goalscoring.

Morning Phil, giving your age away then now.

Re last night, Offside decision was spot on correct,

Thought Patricio was outstanding, bit lucky with goal but we will take it.
Semedo looks better.

We are almost safe now, although our goal famine continues, don't think we should sign DA Silva, not mobile enough, even though he lacks service.
Looks like Marcel is injury prone, was he fit when he arrived?
But a good 3 points.

Well done Rated, Its tough for you, but if you can't control how much it best.

Usual Rib eye steak with salad + cold slaw for me, bit of lime pickle.

Leeds are Fit, fast and furious, they leak goals, But score goals, We will need more than one goal to win tonight, We can't just sit back and defend.
