Well Nuno to leave Wolves announced by the club! Explains a great deal about the motivation of the team during the last few months.
Let’s hope Fosun get a grip and we get a high quality replacement.
I must say I’m disappointed!

I can't say I'm surprised to be totally honest, what I will say is this: I didn't want Nuno to leave. Wolves better have a decent manager lined up and not Gutasso either.

Thanks Nuno, for all the incredible memories.

2.) 21 May 2021 14:15:44
I've said this would happen all season but I have to still admit to being shocked! 😱.

3.) 21 May 2021 14:26:02
Wonder if there is any connection with Lampard pulling out of the Palace job?

4.) 21 May 2021 14:31:29
Bruno (Lage) had a dream.

5.) 21 May 2021 14:47:13
Absolutely shocked can't believe it cue the exodus that will put a end to traore putting pen to paper and leaves us fans to worry about who coming in and who going to leave how many of the players came here because of nuno? Which leaves me thinking anyone see mountiho being a manager? Just putting it out there.

6.) 21 May 2021 15:05:23
I posted a few weeks ago about Nuno possibly taking the Portugal job, Mourinho in talks but ultimately turning down Wolves and Gattuso to take over. I also states that a lot of players such as Neves, Semedo, Moutinho and Traore will be moved on.

Personally, I'm gutted that Nuno is going as I don't think Gattuso is better.

I hope we don't live to regret this.

7.) 21 May 2021 15:08:53
Not really surprised, I hope a replacement is lined up. With a Euros this summer and a short break next summer due to the World Cup having to be accomodated in November whoever comes in is not going to have much of a close season to work on recruitment this season or next by the look of it.

8.) 21 May 2021 15:17:47
Going to be rather blunt here he has form for this.
However let's not forget what he has done at our club and his kind donation too earlier this year, imo he will always be welcome back at Molinuex.

9.) 21 May 2021 15:31:10
We will regret this, back to the bad old days.

10.) 21 May 2021 15:44:44
True Rated, 4 years is the longest he's stayed as a manager anywhere by the look of it, that said I'm not sure its a good move for the club.

11.) 21 May 2021 16:03:31
It's all very sad and a big shock but TBH I had a feeling for the last 3 months or so that Nuno would leave quite amicably at the end of this season. My hope is that he will go back home now and spend some quality time with his family, who he must have missed terribly during the last few months. As for a replacement, my first choice would be Conceiacao and the one I do NOT want under any circumstances is Rafa Benitez. He has shown far too many times that he hates Wolves so there should be NO place for him at Molineux.

12.) 21 May 2021 16:10:14
Well either Fosun have massive ambition and are blaming him for the debacle of the season just gone and have a brilliant replacement/ solution in mind OR
He having seen Jeff Shi ignore his request last year for a bigger and better balanced squad has no faith that the even larger ask that is now on the table will be met and he doesn't want to be part of a desperate relegation battle.
As I have said without: 1) the injured players coming back - and that isn't happening any time soon and for some it may never 2) replacements for the players that have grown old - that was just Moutinho but may now be Patricio as well and 3) cover/ upgrades for Boly/ Saiss who are now ageing/ injury prone and going to be absent due to AFN for a period next season anyway - we are in for a difficult season and bottom 6 may be as good as we can hope for.
Who woud you want to come in?
An old stop gap who can see us through the current crisis whilst the injured players recover and the youngsters we bought get a chance to come good.
A young manager to shake things up?
A "name" who might be able to attract some good loans from the big teams in the Prem/ Europe etc etc?
Personally I'm in shock and haven't really got an idea of who I'd like!

13.) 21 May 2021 16:31:55
I suspect that Nuno and Jeff have fallen out. I wanted Nuno to stay forever but realistically his heart is in Portugal. The poor guy has been separated from his family for far too long. I hope he gets the Portugal team job.

I really can't see him going to Spurs, as Jeff would have played hardball and got compensation from Daniel Levy.

I would take Frank Lampard all day long. Tammy Abrahams would probably come with him.

14.) 21 May 2021 17:50:11
Interesting call Deep.
He did v well at Derby with youngsters and even at Chelsea the young players did ok.
Perhaps he didn't cover hmself with glory with the £50m + transfers but let's be honest how many of them are we making this year!
Would Chelsea let him have some their cast offs for Wolves either on loan or as sales?
For example
Hudson Odoi (sp) on loan untill Neto gets back, Alonso either on loan or sale untill Otto is back, (if he ever is) Giroud or as you say Abrahams again either on loan or sale untill Jimenez is flying or to play alongside etc.
Perhaps more hopefully we could get Ziyech or Pulisic or Kovacic (sp) to replace Moutinho?
More realistically and hopefully more affordably what about Gilmour - same size just a lot younger?
More I think about it the better the idea sounds and he will bring us a v v high profile at the very least - shame he isn't a few years younger as he could have shared minutes with Moutinho and unlike Neves he never lost his shooting boots!

15.) 21 May 2021 18:12:57
Bruno Lage is bookies favourite and as a Portuguese manager he may be able to keep the Portuguese players happy. Having said that fans have been calling for more hone grown players particularly those from championship clubs with great prospects. I agree with Deep Throat if Lampard was considered Abrahams might consider joining but does he (Lampard) have enough experience for Fosun?
It’s a changing of the guard and May take a couple of seasons to sort out.

16.) 21 May 2021 19:41:55
Well the BBC were reporting that no other clubs were involved in the decision as they understood it. So Deep could be right I wouldn't be surprised to see Nuno in the Portugal job.

17.) 22 May 2021 12:24:06
I'd love to be right about Lampard and all that he could bring to Wolves, but I suspect that Fosun will go for a Portuguese coach due to their connection with Mendes.

18.) 22 May 2021 19:33:48
On a certain betting website, Kevin Muscat 66 to 1 to be next manager. Would be interesting!

19.) 23 May 2021 10:17:46
Bruno Lage doesn't fit the bill though. He has a years managerial experience winning the portugese league.

But we wanted European football. I think it will be Rafa or Fonseca. Rafa has won it all (not sure if he is the manager to settle the club though and trust money with) .

As Fonseca is under Gestifute and has links with Mendes. He is portugese so will get on with current squad.
Lage would be a good coach under Fonseca.

20.) 23 May 2021 23:40:31
It really won't be Muscat, really, no way

Probably Portuguese but Fosun might surprise us and appoint Lampard or Benitez.

Perhaps someone can enlighten me?
Villa have announced several signings yet the transfer window is not yet open?
What is going on?
If the window is open in Europe what are Wolves waiting for?

ExRef

1.) 02 Jun 2022 07:00:07
Probably because they've got £100M burning a hole in their pocket ExRef.
Having said that We have just sold Vinagre to Sporting and the signing of Jao Palhinha is imminent, possibly this week.

2.) 02 Jun 2022 10:43:01
Can't help but feel Villa may find themselves in hot water with ffp the way they are going.

3.) 02 Jun 2022 13:26:33
Personally I admire the fosun approach, we live in a time of credit and debt. I don’t have a credit card and don’t spend beyond my means, the majority of people I know do spend money they haven’t got and there’s millions of people in debt. I don’t get why the spend spend spend approach is what people want, I wonder are these the same people who have thousand in debt and one day it will catch up with them. I really hope teams like villa get found out and get punished for over spending, but tbh in today’s world I can’t see that happening. Let’s just reward carelessness and a lack of foresight and let people play the system allegedly like Man City.

4.) 02 Jun 2022 15:27:19
Fosun International is run on debt and has billions of CNY of it on their books. If all the debt was called in tomorrow they wouldn’t be able to pay it.

22 May 2022 18:20:26
Actually thought Wolves were better today.
Hwang was a mistake can’t keep his feet and loses the ball too much.
I found myself torn between wanting Wolves to hold out and Liverpool to stick it to Man City.
Lot of work to do in close season for Wolves and still don’t think Lage is the man to do it. But onwards and hopefully upwards.

2.) 22 May 2022 19:32:13
Rea!oh have to question Lages decision to bring Hwang on, if there's no one better on the bench heaven help us. Surely they will not sign him permenantly. It's hard to have faith in a coach who is such a poor judge. He obviously sees something in the player that is very well hidden.

3.) 22 May 2022 20:17:12
Hwang is probably the only player Bruno has signed, so out of probable stubbornness keeps playing him in the hope he comes good, he looks like he's going backwards to me, he never seems in the right position or choose the right pass.
Jiminez looked like he had the bit between his teeth today, shame it's took till the end of the season

4.) 22 May 2022 20:23:46
Ray389
They've already signed him

5.) 22 May 2022 22:17:49
If that's the case they have more money than sense (as my old mum used to say).

07 May 2022 17:36:16
Much better performance with more fight so not a moan!
The number of chances we had but missed!
The number of passes we gave away!
The organisational chaos in respect of substitutions!
Yet despite this happy with our luck turning.
Just can’t get my head around the last few performances.
Chiquinho made a big difference and Trincao made a great decision with his goal.
Perhaps remote management is tte answer?

ExRef

1.) 07 May 2022 19:45:39
With only highlights to go on it's hard to comment on the performance, but given a stupid penalty took the game away from us initially, well done Wolves for a great comeback.
I wonder if Trincao has decided to get stuck in and prove he can do it or show us what we will be missing if he goes home.
Either way Chinqinho needs to feature going forward.

2.) 07 May 2022 21:23:11
Lets see if he can take Liverpool and City apart Longmynd, not sure I would take a gamble on a transfer fee and 130k a week wages signing Trincao at the moment.

Total and utter rubbish all through the team!
These players look demotivated and fed up!
If this is what Lage as a manager is able to bring Wolves then he needs sacking. Fosun got rid of Nuno after one mediocre season this season tte team have been worse just lucky with otter teams around them giving away points! One shot on target all match, midfield nowhere to be seen, defence diabolical Dendonker passing backwards all game and the Stadium empty before the match ended which is rarely seen at Molineaux! Even the most loyal supporters must agree this performance was total rubbish.

1.) 30 Apr 2022 17:25:05
The Newcastle game, I though was a bad performance but a one off. The Burnley game saw them absorb the pressure and hit us on the break which we couldn't cope with however today's game was played against a team who like to play a similar style to us and let's be honest, they outclassed us in every area of the pitch. Our passing was woeful as was our defending and attacking intent. I think this summer will see the end for Boly, Saiss, Dendonker, Jimenez and possibly Coady. Traore will either be sold or loaned out again to run down his contract and personally, I think Podence should go too. Lage was brought in for his attacking 442 system which saw Benfica steamroller the opposition. He needs to now play Mosquera and Chiquinho as well as Neto and revert to the 442 system to see if they can cope. We have Chelsea, Man City, Norwich and Liverpool to play. Although 12 points are available, realistically we'll do well to get 3. Europe is now our of the question so let's start planning for next season.

2.) 01 May 2022 11:21:29
I regularly agree with your contributions Jas but I really think that we have been missing Podence's inventiveness despite the fact that he spends too much time feigning injury when on the pitch until last time when it must have been a real injury!

Interesting though that whilst Neves and Dendonker are training with Wolves in Marbella that neither have been part of the OR photo shoots. Certainly something is going on . Interesting times let’s hope Fosun and Lage get it right before the 14th August.

Ed02 reminds me of my army days being sent to the stores for a tin of white paint to paint the last post 😁
So many rumours about Wolves players leaving and Nuno raiding the squad for Everton ( if he does actually go there)
Obviously uncertainty during this transition and the Euros making things linger on.
I think that everyone is just waiting to see what the plan is.
The press speculation is, of course, unsettling.
Nowt we can do as supporters but just put trust in the new coach and the executives who run the club.

From reports in the press there have been rumblings of discontent in the camp.
Rather than trying to get Bruno the sack I think they may have succeeded?
Having said that his record where he lost the players in Portugal after winning the title seems more than a coincidence.
In truth a manager or coach is there to motivate and maintain discipline within a squad not an easy job but that is why they get the big money.
Personally I am disgusted with the past 10 games but also our position in the league has been maintained with a lot of help from the teams below us not performing either. I don’t subscribe to the idea that Lage hasn’t had his own squad he knew what the score was when he came. His forte was bringing young players through yet whilst here thus season despite the club having spent on young players only a few have been on the brink of the first team.
Lage hasn’t got the personality that Nuno had and if Fosun are looking to move us up to a top six club then they have big decisions to make. I don’t Lage is up to the job. It appears some of the players have similar views .

Total shambles Ait Nori isn’t interested in anything except show boating! Defence is Asleep and midfield looks out of salts. Dendonker is a waste of space! Silva the only one who is actually trying but is still bullied off the ball. European Football? Couldn’t play in the works leagues on this first half display!
Boos all around the ground at half time!

Spot on!
Sorry to say playing Raul on the wing and it looked like Hwang was out of his depth. Burnley wanted it more and showed the lack of physical power Wolves have.
Not good enough for a European place at the moment.
Lack of goals after numerous chances created.
Big shake up required in close season if the objectives of being a top six club is to be achieved.

Norfolk so apart from agreeing that we give the ball away and offer nowt up front and the fact we got really lucky with the win, can you honestly say the overall performance was good?
All supporters have a right to an opinion about their chosen club and although they may criticise it doesn’t stop them from supporting them. Ok it was a win and 3 points which is great.
After the build up to the season where quality attacking football was constantly mentioned by the club and the manager you must agree so far it’s been disappointing?
Let’s just hope this comeback gives some confidence and impetus for an improved performance in the future. Having supported the club since 1950’s congratulations and critical opinions are par for tye course when deserved.
