Crikey, that's a question. The only reason I would get him back would be if we had a cheapish buy back clause or if a move would trigger another payment from Forest and then sell him on for a profit.

I think does he look better in a poor team or not.
He certainly has talent but not convinced enough he could do it for a better team like us.

Somebody explain to me how FFP works.We don't get charged for breaking the rules but still can't sign anybody Nottingham forest get charged waiting to see if they get a points deduction put still sign somebody for 5 million ?

Too much info to write down in an easy to understand guide on this site. But it is not as easy as selling a player to buy a player.

Not sure if anyone understands it fully, unless your a fully qualified accountant. I think we all get baffled when we see teams like Forest possibly facing a points deduction and still bringing in players. If Forest or Everton get relegated, which is a strong possibility with Luton's current form, how much is that going to cost them?

As Jas suggests Coseley it is simple in theory but can be complex in practice. I would suggest that by continuing to spend is exactly how and why Forest are where they are, under investigation.
Chelsea's FFP must be a nightmare to address, sell someone homegrown and its straight forward, that all goes against FFP which is why Chelsea were asking top dollar for Broja (£50M) at the start of Jan. However, sell one of those newer players on seven year contracts for less than they paid (which they may be forced to) then it's not so simple. Apparently, their losses this year will be circa £200M with no European football income to help.

All I can think of is that ffp is a rolling 3 year calculation. And some years for forest are at a lower championship level and will be replaced by premiership levels of allowable loss. Could that be it.

On transfer deadline day there was a journo sat with Jim White and Alex Cross at Talksport. He was saying that these charges against Everton and Forest have really changed the way clubs will buy and sell players. He specifically spoke about Chelsea and Broja.
As it stands Chelsea need to sell £200 worth of players so that they don't breach FFP in the year ending 30th June 2024.
Clubs know this and that us why despite Chelsea demanding £50m for Broja and £5m loan fee, they dropped the price to £35m. As no one was still interested, they agreed to a straight loan for £3m and hope that he proves a success and a suitable price agreed.
