Sounds as if reality has struck a lot sooner than I thought it would with Chelsea allegedly cutting the asking price to a "mere" £35m for Broja.
Indeed a loan with option to buy was even mentioned.
Clearly if it is an option in our favour I'd happily take him on loan for a look as long as it was only costing a modest loan fee and his wages - assuming they are £40k pw.
The upside is def there but at the moment £35m is in my view still far too much to pay up front.
It will be interesting though to see how other clubs who are perhaps more desperate than us react.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone bites and so we won't get it him but maybe?

Get Fabio back and a straight swap?

Seems way too expensive for 8 goals in 58 appearances Chelsea and Southampton.
I would say west ham or Fulham would be his destination being they're London clubs.

If costs are an issue Che Adams would be my shot.
He's a hard worker in the mould of what GON wants and good cover for whang and cunha.
I would imagine we would sign a big money signing in the summer.
GON has exceeded all expectations for fans aswell the clubs board.
So whoever our signings are under GON surely there will be 100% backing from fans whether they thought they were good enough or not.
I think the mistakes of silva and guedes was too much of mendes influence but ultimately the ceo takes the can.
Silva is the biggest flop because of his age guedes had good stats and both were valued high as they were because they both must of done something to warrant it.

The lessons learnt from silva and guedes I feel should be remembered in broja.

Broja is an academy product, so any sale would be 100% profit, that's why the price is so high (reported £50-£60m during the week). Which would help Chelsea and their wild spending and complying with the new version of FFP.

Phil. When you see the options available Adams isn't a bad shout depending on how much Southampton want. Plus it can depend on Adams not wanting to wait until the summer to negotiate a signing on fee.
He gives good options being able to lead the line and play out wide so covers what we need. That would me still being able to get a more expensive striker in the summer and his signing not be a waste. That can depend on Hobbs no being able to get Boulaye Dia on a loan to buy as we have been keen on him for some time.

Good points Ken I personally have a lot more faith and belief in our next signings, the first ones with full input from GON and also the renewed encouragement I read on here.

Good point out Fordhouses I didn't see/understand that, But my thinking was the outlay for us so probably why it didn't come into my thinking.

I'm afraid I disagree Ken, I feel that Adams would be a complete waste of money and not a sufficient upgrade on our current crop of strikers even though they are out on loan. Would rather rely upon Hwang and Cunha.

How many minutes are there in an "appearance" just so I know how to determine if it is a good statistic or not?

Have a look at Alexander Sorloth who plays for Villareal could we be doing some sort of swap with them as we a loaning them 2 players?. Worth looking at seems the type of striker GON likes.
