So being that every 5 minutes it changes from "wolves keen on signing £20m player" to "wolves have no money" what does everyone think will happen. Do you think we will sign anyone over the value of £5m or is it going to be a very long hard season again.

Alot of the reported bids and offers are purely tittle tattle from the media filling spaces. No one seems to know or understand the FFP side of things. The only thing to go on is the JL interview. It was cold and open, an impression of his reality. The Alex scott business I personally believe to be true, but that seems scuppered if we belive the latest reports. We've got players who I also believe can compete in the prem, not with big 6 but definitely mid table, with JL's stewardship, and there lies the biggest concern, will he stay the course?. His reputation suggests he jump ship, the circumstances aren't what he signed up to, how he was sold a lie I don't know, but if he was then it means Fosun can't be trusted and that really spells the end if true. Back to FFP, we havnt been punished have we? There's no transfer embargo upon us, so treading the financial mine field I'd have thought we could still make reasonable acquisitions and generate enough to cover sensible outlay next year. If JL is to seriously compete this season he'll need a couple or so class players, I hope we may see some incomings yet and we can put concerns to bed. Whatever, Fosun are taking us fans for granted in their silence, we are surely deserving of some sort of explanation and reassurance. They expect us to turn out in Dublin, to fill molineux every week and purchase the merchandise it's about time they stopped abusing our loyalty and told us what we're buying into this year.

It's hard to say. JL's comments yesterday were interesting. Is it smoke and mirrors? Are the finances as bad as we're being told? Are expectations from the fan base trying to be reigned in?

I can see one or two players coming in for modest fees, but not to the level of recent windows.

The issue is the club has to generate more revenues to compete with transfers and wages in the Premier League. It seems now clubs even in the bottom half are expected to outlay over £100 million each year on players to remain competitive and this simply isn't sustainable for a club the size of Wolves. Especially if the transfers don't work out.

The owners can't magically put money into the squad as it isn't allowed with FFP but they can invest in infrastructure. This is where the board have to make a call. Are they going to invest beyond the other ventures they're trying to grow revenues or not? If not then our time in the PL will become more difficult in the future. If they are then great, but it won't happen over night.

I can understand why they held off the ground expansion over the last few years, but it is becoming a problem now. It would be good to hear an update from the club on this. Do they still feel the costs are not feasible? Is the local council or university causing a problem with land ownership and planning permission? Are Fosun simply not in a position to invest in it?

Fosun have been good custodians for the club and other owners still couldn't immediately address the FFP issues. I think we do need to hear something from the owners about the long term plans for the club based on how the landscape within the club and globally has changed in the past few years.

Cant see any money being spent.as we still need to sell!. need to focus on decent loans or frees.thers quality free players available such as traore.not ideal.but possibly the only option.i can see j lop walking away before kick.off if nothing is done

Logic tells me that every word from JL is true. I'm pretty sure if he'd known how tight finances were going to be he wouldn't have spent 44m on Cunha. Maybe that could have been used more wisely! Good player but it could have been better spent.

Much, much better, Ken.One of a number of ridiculously over the odds purchases (Guedes, Silva, Cutrone, Nunes- probably in that order)when it's possible to get real value for money if you work at it (Dawson, Lemina, probably Gomes). The pigeons have well and truly come home to roost.

Talking of over the odds signings shouldn't Cundha be in that category? Can't figure out what his position is, is he a striker or midfield?

Indeed Ray;Ken mentioned him and I added a few others.
