Benik afobe signed on loan. £1 million loan fee and wages paid in full. Apparently bournemouth revived the deal at 10.30pm on the terms that wolves wanted. No option to buy either. Great business. Get behind him then send him back once the summer comes. Bigger fish to fry .

1.) 01 Feb 2018 08:14:48
Completely agree, haven’t got into the debate myself, but he is here now so personal opinions aside let’s get behind him as I’m sure he will score 13+ goals. With Jota and Caverlio, Névés and Costa if he finds form!

2.) 01 Feb 2018 08:29:58
Sounds like Wolves played it cool and Bournemouth said ok when they realised Wolves weren't going to pay more

There is an option to buy out of darkness.

3.) 01 Feb 2018 09:27:12
13+ goals Wolves011? Fancy a wager? Maybe get a few as back up. Now it's done I'll just have to eat humble pie until we wave goodbye!

4.) 01 Feb 2018 09:57:45
Really good piece of business we stuck at it didn't give in got what we wanted adobe should thrive with the players around him.

5.) 01 Feb 2018 09:58:10
Maybe Eddie Howe had a few drinks too many after beating Chelsea? He wanted his pound of flesh from Wolves (a profit on £10mil) and only got a loan deal heavily in Wolves' favour. This is an intelligent and cheap gamble by Wolves as Afobe is proven in this division. Nuno might even improve him.

6.) 01 Feb 2018 11:19:19
Old Wulf let’s see shall we! It will be very interesting.

7.) 01 Feb 2018 12:17:44
I'm pleased with this piece of business as it's a short term fix. Afobe's attitude when he left stunk. But hey maybe he's grown up a bit and can do a job for us. If it works out great, if not he goes back. Either way Nuno won't put up with a load of nonsense.

8.) 01 Feb 2018 12:46:24
The option to buy is in our favour so we can buy him if we want or not bother. great business.

9.) 01 Feb 2018 16:52:12
I think Afobe is best of the bunch who we've been looking at over here it's a great signing till the end of the season just to c us over the line get behind him 100per cent Bournemouth beating Chelsea last night worked in our favour Eddie Howe must have been feeling generious.

Its being reported that were interested in djavan anderson a young right back from bari. he's dutch/ surinamese who came through the ajax youth academy. Back up for matt docherty it seems.

Apparently wolves are in advanced talks to sign afobe on loan with a view to permanent transfer at end of the season.
Good bit of business if we get him on loan, then personally hope we say thanks now off you pop as we can do better for that price in the summer or put the money towards better quality.
Not good enough as main striker for the premiership.

out of darkness

1.) 29 Jan 2018 11:43:11
Agreed!

2.) 29 Jan 2018 11:46:55
of course he's good enough. he's already scored for them when he first signed. sometimes you need a move. that's like saying sako is not a prem player. at the time they were playing some cracking football with afobe making them runs. he would run our front line very well, it's what we are missing.

3.) 29 Jan 2018 11:55:21
Hope we don't get him at all! Was sick of his sulking when here before and check out the pen incident reported yesterday if you want proof he hasn't changed in the slightest! Yes he will score at this level if he can be arsed but I think he will wreck all dressing room spirit and togetherness that is plainly there. Hooe there's an alternative. If not would sooner go with what we already have them that petulant t**t. COYW.

4.) 29 Jan 2018 13:16:24
100% correct we don't need him and we don't want him.

5.) 29 Jan 2018 15:54:46
Spot on South Banker, why bring that negative energy into a winning team?! I was already on the fence previously but thought on loan he may be worth a punt but like South says just watch the Pen incident. he still feels the need to be bigger than the team and that ain't good for any team! Those peeps saying 'get him in to get us promoted' seem to have not been watching the last few months we're already well on track to promotion without the help of a sulking pre-madonna!
Also I don't understand the logic here, we need support for Leo as he is going through a barren run surely the idea would be to bring someone in who can hit the ground running like (and not his biggest fan) but Grabban whos been banging goals in down here already this season?! Instead we are going to bring someone in that's scored 1 goal in the league cup all season, hardly inspiring is it?

6.) 29 Jan 2018 15:54:19
Stop your worrying. Villa will sign him they are happy with the terms Bournemouth are after a loan to buy option and wolves aren’t we just want a loan till the end of the season because we know he can’t hack it in the prem.

He won’t come to wolves. I’m not saying he wouldn’t get goals and won’t be a great signing for us right now because right now he would be but, going forward he wouldn’t be in the prem and Nuno know’s this hence the deal just being a loan till the end of the season.

7.) 29 Jan 2018 21:55:07
Wolvesaywe- Agree with the jist of your post but one thing I'm unsure on is that could Villa actually afford him?! I can't see that they can until they shift that lead weight that is Ross McCormack?! Maybe moving Ross is in the pipeline with this to follow, time will tell.

Theres rumours from the portuguese press that miranda wants to move back to portugal. Hope it ain't true as I think he was / is a very cultured ball playing defender who will be more suited to the premiership when we get there than the championship.
Ive seen worse defenders in a wolves shirt and in the premiership.
Whats everyones thoughts?

out of darkness

1.) 07 Jan 2018 21:08:47
Must admit out of all our defence Miranda is the one weak link. Just think he's not the greatest in the air gets outjumped alot. Think him supposedly wanting to leave has something to do with this Police investigation.
Saying that though would be sad to see him go, sure he will only get better as time goes by and like you say maybe more suited for the Prem.
I am more concerned about the Boly rumours going round hope there's no truth in it. 🤔🙏.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 22:07:33
Apparently dave its to do with lack of game time he feels he's not getting and he's comfortable that he's done no wrong with the allegations against him. I thought he looked top draw against villa and played a blinder. Sorry to see him go if that's the case. Regarding boly I can't see him going anywhere. he's appreciated, gets games, about to play against better players next season and his stock will only rise higher.

3.) 07 Jan 2018 22:11:52
Miranda is a total liability, he has poor distribution and doesn't read the game like Boly / Coady. Let him go.

4.) 07 Jan 2018 23:08:06
Whatever King Nuno decides is ok with me, of all our centrehalves Miranda for me would be the one to let go.
Kourtney Hause is better in my opinion, & Danny Bath feel sorry for Miranda though, maybe he knew these allegations were coming a while back.

5.) 07 Jan 2018 23:13:03
I think if Miranda does leave it will only be on loan until the end of the season. I believe that he was brought in as 1st choice but unfortunately for him, Boly has been outstanding, Coady has excelled beyond anyones expectations at CB and Ryan Bennett proved his worth when Boly got injured. Miranda is a good player and may find that he is a better fit for the Premier League where the pace of the game is slower. Let's not forget that he is a Wolves player whereas Boly, who is considerably better is not so if we can't sign Boly permanently, we already have a CB ready and waiting.

6.) 07 Jan 2018 23:59:40
Totally agree jas, he would be suited to the premiership. Would rather have him as back up over batth although even he's improved this season yet still think he's found his level. It seems that english defenders are coached only one way so when it comes to playing out of defence most find it alien. Luckily we have a manager whos years ahead of english coaches . Think what let's miranda down is he's alan hansen esq where he comes across as non plussed, takes things in his stride, maybe he finds the championship boring, feels he's too good for it, who knows.

7.) 08 Jan 2018 00:07:24
dont rate him tbf. can't pass from the back. weak in the air. and abit rash. but wish him well.

8.) 08 Jan 2018 10:46:09
Too error prone and rash I'm afraid and he'd be completely shown up in the premier. We'll need a better ball playing defender next season on top of Coady, Boly, Hause and possibly Bennett.

9.) 08 Jan 2018 12:55:53
Our defenders in order of quality and reliability

Boly
Coady
Bennett
Hause
Batth
Miranda

Won't be sad to see him go on a permanent transfer. Recoup the money and buy an U21 promising centre back to compete on the right hand side of the back three with Bennett/ Batth.

Perhaps we need a promising sweeper to tuck under the wing of Coady too. Only Saiss can contribute with covering tackles and distributing the ball as well as Coady does!?

Boly on another level. Must keep him whatever it takes.

First choice: Bennett - Coady - Boly
Second choice: Batth - Saiss - Hause.

10.) 08 Jan 2018 12:56:15
He's about the only disappointment of Nuno's signings. Apart from the defender who's always been injured and whose name I've forgotten. Phil something. The current back 3, with Doc, Saiss, Neves and Douglas in front of them have been exactly what we needed. Bennett was a surprise. Miranda was supposed to be the rock in our defence when he joined, with Boly the reluctant later arrival.

11.) 08 Jan 2018 13:53:39
Miranda hasn’t been that bad. His passing was an outlet before boly came in. And he was comfortable on the ball. I don’t think he expected British football where a player holds onto the ball and will have tunnel vision and keep running at you. As in Portugal they would recycle and pass the ball more like wolves are.

I wouldn’t say he was a bad signing he contributed to points early on in the season.

12.) 08 Jan 2018 14:17:45
Miranda would not be missed in my opinion, weak in the air and will need better than him if we get promoted makes to many mistakes for me.

13.) 08 Jan 2018 15:23:19
I don't think Miranda is going to b sold or loaned out according to Nuno.

14.) 08 Jan 2018 16:49:55
I would be sorry to see Miranda go - which I don't think he will by the way - as at the start of the season he, Coady and Boly formed an excellent back three. Yes he had the odd wobble here and there but covered very effectively on the left when Boly was out injured. Definitely prefer him to Danny 'where's my man I'm supposed to be marking gone again? ' Batth.

Also see we are being linked with Jevani Brown a Jamaican striker with Cambridge United. He's had 10 clubs in the past 4 years only, scored 4 in 27 for Cambridge and has a reputation as a trouble-maker from what I hear so no thanks!

15.) 08 Jan 2018 16:56:17
Miranda signed a contract and cost 2.5m - he can't leave just like that. Anyway we will need him if the other rumour is true about Boly wanting a return to Portugal to keep his wife happy.

16.) 08 Jan 2018 18:25:00
Have to say that for me Mirandas been the only disappointment in Nunos signings. Also have to agree with 1877 and others in that I think he’d get shown up very quickly in the Prem. He is technically sound and tidy enough on the ball but most of his problems have been that he’s FAR too easily bossed around, especially in the air! He’s not that physical with the ball at his feet either come to that so for me I would get rid and move on as I’d hate to see someone like Hause sacrificed to keep him. Like others though I very much doubt it will happen as I think Nuno has a good relationship with him and he’s handy at this level. For those suggesting keeping him in case Boly doesn’t sign then I’m afraid we need to think again, they are chalk and cheese. If Boly goes we would need another power house of a similar calibre (basically a Prem standard defender) if we want to have any chance of surviving the Prem. Think it’s already become all too easy for most of us to take for granted how much big Willy has entirely sorted our defence this year, the guy is just a class above! COYW.

17.) 09 Jan 2018 14:11:01
It's all relative though. If we'd signed Miranda last year when we signed Costa and co he would have been class with Batth or Stearman. But next to Boly he is out-shone.

Just read that fc porto defender alex telles is close to signing for club record fee.

1.) 04 Jan 2018 17:16:45
Keane rumour is BS according to Sky Sports.

{Ed047's Note - Wolves wanted him on a 6 month deal last i heard, although to me it made little sense as they just signed a Striker}.

2.) 04 Jan 2018 17:17:50
I've seen that too.

3.) 04 Jan 2018 18:27:53
Not sure I see this one happening, Douglas is in great form and vinagre has done well when brought in, doubt telles would join before prem promotion no matter how certain it seems.

4.) 04 Jan 2018 20:46:53
Rubbish.

{Ed047's Note - Alex Telles has been watched numerous times by Chelsea and certainly wont be leaving in January}.

5.) 04 Jan 2018 21:07:45
Telles rumour came from fake account.

6.) 04 Jan 2018 21:19:09

Window wolf I meant no obligation to buy. Looking back at yesterday one player I feel sorry for is joe mason. It must be soul destroying when he sees fringe players shipped out and he's left behind. All he has to look forward to is u23 football for the rest of the season. Wasnt orisnt the worst striker we've had at wolves by any means over the years. Just shows that he was over priced and overrated when he was brought, true indication of false dawns and type of player we were used to buying .
Hope he gets snapped up in the summer along with all our others loan players we've shipped out being sold.
On that note it looks like doctor tony went and borrowed a ford focus from bournemouth (grabban) and jeff shi went and borrowed a bentley (afobe) .
This transfer window alone has just shown that were the new powerhouse of english football and the juggernaut rolls on.

afobe's back and he will be playing in a front 3 like the 1st season with us, we lost a key component of that front 3 and afobe and dicko both failed to live up to the previous seasons high standards then the tactical genius jackett decided he was a deep lying no 10/ attacking midfielder which destroyed his confidence . now with wolves playing a front 3 again creating numerous chances afobe should prosper utw.

No substance in Andre Silva rumour according to Tim Spiers Twitter
Well on to the next one.

09 Jan 2018 16:54:39
I posted up in the banter if we were likely to smash our transfer record for the 4th consecutive window by buying carvalho or silva.
Just read that we've had a £35 million bid turned down for ac milans andre silva. Wrong silva I was thinking of but there's no stopping wolves and fosun.

Considering we've broken our transfer record for the past three windows in buying cavaleiro, costa and neves I wonder if we will do it again january in buying carvalho or silva?

Mattbwolves he's a winger/ striker so without a doubt fit into our three at the front system no problem. Left or centre of the three or alternate throughout 90 minutes . Similar to what jota, cav and costa would do but with goals and assists also.

Totally agree wolves 4 life, great signing. Can now see why dicko went. Different type of forward altogether. Was always worried when dicko shot as he never had a back lift with his striking foot. This bloke locadia does what should be done, put the foot right through the ball.
Massive step up in my opinion to the strikers we had and well worth the money.

So sorry gee wolf to hear your sad news. Totally relate to what your going through at this sad time. Believe me when I say you will look back with fond and happy memories rather than the grief you're feeling at the minute. doesn't make it any easier mate but each day that passes it becomes less painful the emotions you're facing atm. Stay strong along with your family until the time comes where you will begin to smile remembering the memories of your mom.
