Heard tonight Wolves have had a bid 0f 1.8 million knocked back for Danny Ward, but is he any better than what we already have?

19 Jan 2017 00:59:42
WHo is Danny Ward?

18 Jan 2017 21:25:06
Scouts are monitoring Wolves winger James Henry who is out of contract in the summer and is available on a free transfer. The experienced 26 year old is currently on loan at Bolton until the end of the season.

18 Jan 2017 21:43:16
Bit confusing. Are you saying Wolves scouts are monitoring him or other clubs. I can't see us scouting our own player.

18 Jan 2017 11:57:03
Don't know if this true maybe someone on here will know more but i've heard that Leon Osman is on Wolves radar.

18 Jan 2017 13:49:52
I hope so but is it what we really looking for

18 Jan 2017 18:47:30
Speaking of Everton why don't we look at Phil Jagielka? Would be top notch in Championship

18 Jan 2017 20:02:10
No chance of jagielka he'll drop to a lower prem team before coming to the championship. And if he did come to the championship it would be with a club like Newcastle or brighton

17 Jan 2017 18:00:39
I think 4 or 5 quality players in the summer along with our young ones having gained experience over the next couple of months then we will hit it next season.

Big call is to try our best to keep costa. only thing stopping us would be a 40m buy out clause benfica like to put on there young ones or a premier club coming in. but anything can happen in football. have hope we might fluke it and make the play offs lol.

17 Jan 2017 18:40:28
I'm hoping our academy system will come to fruition - just look at Everton or Southampton, they're reaping the rewards now. I'm glad the younger players are getting a deserved chance. It also encourages younger players to sign for Wolves if they see others getting a chance. Just a thought UTW.

17 Jan 2017 20:31:49
Villa defender coming. Was delayed bit but hear still on.

17 Jan 2017 21:00:13
Who is this flipping defender?

17 Jan 2017 23:01:43
don't know, but can someone tell me what happened to jordan graham? it's now a month over his predicted return date and he still isn't in training. that's slightly concerning.

18 Jan 2017 07:56:02
I don't believe any available Villa player is of the quality we require

18 Jan 2017 09:42:51
Only way to keep Costa is to fluke promotion through the playoffs. As unlikely as it seems it's not impossible so I won't write it off. £40mil release clauses for young players is getting to be the norm with the big Continental clubs, but pie in the sky in most cases. I reckon £10mil-£15mil would buy him when the time comes.

Realistically we will challenge strongly next season after recruiting a small number of quality players in the summer and bringing through our youngsters. Next season is going to be bloody exciting.

18 Jan 2017 09:55:00
Wavid I don't think it really matters about Graham until next season. Dicko is a shadow of the player he was pre injury, and Graham had the same injury so I think it will be a long time till we see the type of player he was becoming when the injury occurred. (I hope I'm wrong as his set pieces are quality)

18 Jan 2017 11:46:47
We were obviously right to be concerned last year about Dicko, Graham and Zyro. Looks like they'll never be the same.

18 Jan 2017 17:52:10
Just because Dicko is bad now doesn't mean zryo or Graham will be. I've got higher hopes for Zryo then Graham to be honest though as he really wants to be Wolves' first choice striker rather than a winger

18 Jan 2017 20:03:20
Graham had a set back apparently around October time I think

17 Jan 2017 12:35:20
Anyone else heard the rumour about Arouna Kone coming to wolves?

17 Jan 2017 12:50:48
Only what's in the paper, us and QPR linked?

17 Jan 2017 13:02:55
I saw it to I think he would be a good signing for anyone in the championship let alone us or QPR

17 Jan 2017 13:28:25

I saw that too. Wouldn't surprise me as we are unloading players and reducing the wage bill. QPR are strapped for cash, we're not We could be at the front of the queue for Kone, bit like a trade deal for the UK with Trump!

17 Jan 2017 14:21:16
"QPR have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Everton’s Arouna Kone on loan, according to GetWestLondon.

The newspaper understands that Everton want QPR to pay a “sizeable amount” of the striker’s £40,000-a-week wages, which the London club are not prepared to do.

Kone has made just six appearances this season under Ronald Koeman.

Kone suffered a serious knee injury in his first months on Merseyside and has been a bit-part player since for the Toffees.

His best moment for Everton came when he scored a hat trick against Sunderland last season. "

17 Jan 2017 15:00:11
Great player but very dodgy knee! might be fit to play Championship level, but big risk at 34 now.

18 Jan 2017 07:57:34
At £40k a week he is dodgy full stop. If he has a dodgy knew guess where the first tackles will go?

17 Jan 2017 00:18:22
Wolves are ready to pull the plug on Marshall deal and look elsewhere.

17 Jan 2017 08:13:32
The mls being league one standard. Are you sure?

Do you know how many international south americans play in the mls - or how usa football is progressing. The USA international team are as good as England, if not better.

At the end of the day the championship is an average league watched by a lot of people because of cultural influences. and because of that we think ours is the best - It isn't. I think that we have one of the most average leagues in existence. don't believe the hype!

17 Jan 2017 09:32:21
Its the 5th biggest league in the world enough said.

17 Jan 2017 09:33:55

I'm not at all sure the MLS is League One standard, I did use a question mark. It's the general opinion but who knows? Lots of fans reckon the MLS/ SPL are roughly similar to League One, but probably the Championship is more the mark. That said, Robbie Keane would be on high wages anyway and that brings risks of unrest, as we saw in the past at Wolves.

17 Jan 2017 14:39:01
5th biggest league in the world. yes - in money terms - not quality.

You can go to almost any south american country and their top teams would wipe the floor with wolves, derby, newcastle. et al

17 Jan 2017 16:16:28
Thething I completely disagree with your opinion. I watch the Argentinean league when I go and visit my friend who lives there and I can tell you for a fact that the way we played against stoke, and other teams in the championship we could beat them comfortably let alone Newcastle and derby who are in the playoffs so your statement is incorrect.

17 Jan 2017 16:54:00
Yh that statement is way off now there more on league one standard then you get the odd good player just like league one

17 Jan 2017 17:44:07
SPL probably averages out at League 1. We wouldn't beat Celtic and, until a few years ago, Rangers. Hearts typically the 3rd best team and we're probably at least as good as them. But the bottom teams would be League 1 at best. Attendances are pretty dire.

16 Jan 2017 08:52:11
I haven't heard anything but wouldn't it be worth trying to take Robbie Keane until end of season and see how it goes?

16 Jan 2017 09:47:02
Been linked to Preston on a short term deal.

16 Jan 2017 10:03:58
I know, but wages could be a problem there, just think could be worth a shout as we could do with someone who can score a few goals.

16 Jan 2017 10:42:11
I would have loved Robbie in a few years ago. But, at his age of 36 and recent seasons in the MLS (League One standard? ) it would be taking a risk to sign him now. If he was one big wages, but not scoring, it could upset the dressing room. Good luck to Robbie and Preston though.

16 Jan 2017 10:51:57
Keane would be awesome, you never know he did play with Lambert at Celtic and Lambert took him to Villa on loan so they know each other well enough, like everything with us will come down to wages though.

16 Jan 2017 12:19:28
Seen a romour were after Stephen Kingsley LB from swansea?
Don't know much about him?

16 Jan 2017 12:49:45
Wolves don't need another left back, and they don't need another right back, either. Doc/ Hause on the left and Coady/ Iorfa on the right are fine. Change for the sake of it again in the wrong areas.

16 Jan 2017 13:16:46
Agree, the focus has to be a new forward, masons goal on Saturday was the first goal from one of our forwards since August which is just embarrassing, Think Dicko proved again he's not a lone striker. Always played his best along side Afobe in my opinion.

16 Jan 2017 13:50:39
Totally agree with you, I think in every other position for now we are fine, I know we could maybe get a better CM or CB but we need a goal scorer

16 Jan 2017 14:10:27
oliver mcburnie of swansea would be a good choice for a striker played well against us last week scoring 2, not getting game time down here at the moment,

16 Jan 2017 14:13:15
Considering Marshall is just a carbon copy of Coady, I don't see the point. Coady is starting to make a terrific right back and probably crosses better, too.

One CH, MF and Striker would be fine. Nothing more, just 3 quality signings in the right places.

16 Jan 2017 16:18:25
Marshall is the replacement for Costa when he leaves he will probably start if a wingers gets injured. I think it's going to be interesting when Zyro comes back, whether he plays or not.

16 Jan 2017 17:25:48
Coady's pass to Costa for that goal must be the pass of the season! I'm not sure about Marshall either. Implies Coady might be receiving interest from elsewhere. Or it might be that £1.4m isn't a lot of money at this level and Lambert can get him to punch above his weight.

16 Jan 2017 18:24:17
Wolves011, please understand that Costa is a left winger and Marshall is a right back or right winger. Therefore, how in Gods name is he going to be Costa's replacement, lol?

16 Jan 2017 18:28:00
Marshall is no better than Coady, in my opinion. Unless Coady is going to Newcastle for £5m, I can't really see the point of this transfer.

16 Jan 2017 19:11:12
Wavid have to disagree regarding Costa's position. Although he seems to be almost equally comfortable on either his right or left side and he covers ground across the pitch, he has been playing wide right with Cav playing wide left. Zyro and Graham are both naturally left sided players so with Wallace being allowed to leave and no desire to bring Henry back we are short of cover on the right. Marshall prefers an attacking role. Whilst I would love Costa to be here next season we have to be realistic. He has already declared his desire to get back to Benfica and failing that Prem vultures will have noticed the quality.

16 Jan 2017 20:21:56
Well said Victory v and buy the way we have just beat vile after waiting over 30 yes at home have you all forgotten already and back on the moaning gravey train

16 Jan 2017 21:13:44
I know they switch but Zyro and Cav are mainly on the right. Costa/ Graham left.

16 Jan 2017 22:23:11
New to this site but had to comment on Costa's position. He has never lined up on the left for Wolves - despite him being predominantly left-footed. Jordon Graham is mainly right- footed but usually plays on the left - it's modern-day football innit?

16 Jan 2017 23:05:58
Where do you get your sense of humour from Wavidsmith? I see you have put Coady's price up from £4m to £5m. He is such a limited footballer that he is worth £3/ 4m tops although he is doing a half decent fill in job at right backind. He struggles to run with the ball, pretty basic for a footballer really . If you honestly think Newcastle are interested in him I'd suggest that you go on Ebay to shop for a new crystal ball. Benitez is astute not stupid!

17 Jan 2017 08:50:17
Newcastle want Coady. Don't ask me why. The price? Around the £4-£5m mark

17 Jan 2017 08:57:31
and besides which, Coady is a really versatile player.

17 Jan 2017 09:07:58
The only conclusion to be reached from the above is that Wavidsmith hasn't been to a game this season, or watched one on TV for that matter. Costa starts on the right every single game. Him and Cav switch for a max of 10/ 15 mins a game, and normally immediately following a Costa corner when he is out of position.

You're even wrong on Zyro, who started all of his Wolves appearances so far on the left or up top.

Going back to original point, I'd be surprised if there's anyone available who could replace what Costa has brought to the team. We therefore need to have options available, so Marshall seems like a good start to me.

15 Jan 2017 17:46:55
£1.3m bid in for Ben Marshall. £4m for Sam Gallagher being considered by Southampton.

Also Wallace, Teixeira, Borthwick-Jackson and Oniangue set to depart.

15 Jan 2017 18:06:30
Wheres that come from?

15 Jan 2017 19:47:49
Good knowledge and bang on
Marshall deal as good as done.
Money available so expect us to get deal over the lines or Gallagher.
Helder gets me off my seat.
We need to do our part as fans to win his heart.

15 Jan 2017 20:51:15
Marshall and Gallagher load of rubbish Chinese won't spend big Pl said that on WM he said Villa got more spending power than WW

15 Jan 2017 21:08:01
Here we go another whinger come out of the woodwork

15 Jan 2017 21:17:57
No he said villa can't match wba spending. check Google.

15 Jan 2017 21:51:24
As though PL is going to tell everyone that we've got loads of cash to spend c'mon think about it

15 Jan 2017 22:46:07
What are you thinking realist? Jewellery? Or something simple like chocolates and flowers?

16 Jan 2017 00:21:40
Marshall deal is preparation for Costa departure at the end of the season. Gallagher deal would be amazing but can we get it sorted before rest of the league wake up.

16 Jan 2017 11:21:57
Brothwick-jackson already gone and where did you hear that?

15 Jan 2017 16:30:45
Wolves are in advanced talks with FC Utrecht striker Sebastien Haller - the deal is involves cash plus Paul Gladon who wants to return to his native Holland.

15 Jan 2017 16:59:30
Where did this information come from bb?

15 Jan 2017 17:04:29
Would cost 4 to 5 million.

15 Jan 2017 17:24:13
I mentioned Haller over the summer as he has a very good strike rate. There was a very tenuous link back then. Would be a very good signing. Look at his stats.

15 Jan 2017 17:54:39
Haller would surely cost more than that? He's an excellent player wanted by Swansea, etc. If it is true, would be an excellent addition.

15 Jan 2017 18:02:31
Haller valued in excess of £6m and has no Championship experience which PL said is essential so seems highly unlikely.

15 Jan 2017 18:03:56
I totally agree Wavid if its true

15 Jan 2017 18:18:24
signing both Gallagher AND Haller would give me an orgasm, lol. In this case, there may well be a great deal of truth in the Dicko to Fulham rumour and I also fully expect Bristol City to be bidding £5m for Mason again in the coming weeks.

15 Jan 2017 18:55:20
signing Marshall tells me two obvious things: 1. Iorfa will depart to West Ham, and 2. Coady may be going back up North to Newcastle. Both are valued at over £4m.

15 Jan 2017 22:44:46
Marshall wants to leave because he keeps getting played at RB. He is a winger so why would he want to play a position he hates at another club?

15 Jan 2017 23:43:06
We got no chance with haller

16 Jan 2017 09:35:09
You meant £4 for Coady surely Wavid. No way would Benitez be interested in him unless he has a brain transplant!

16 Jan 2017 15:34:42
sebastien haller goal machine! but would cost 10 mil, no chance in my view.

15 Jan 2017 11:01:57
Hearing we've made an improved bid of £1.25m for Marshall.

15 Jan 2017 15:13:27
Should get him now
