Although Jeff is obviously complicit the real bad guy is David Luiz (sp?)
If he hadn't (potentially) ended Jimenez's career as a top flight CF we would have been fine in 20/21 - as we were pre that game (17 points from 10 had put us in Europa challenger places) and presumably ever since.
But as we have played - to this day - without a top flight CF and sadly don't look like we will be playing with one this year either, unless the new lad is a major upgrade or Jimenenz makes a miraculous and now unexpected recovery, things have not surprisingly gone badly wrong.
We still have great players all over the park a very strong 11 and now with a few additions and less injuries a reasonable bench even.
But sadly we still don't look like scoring many and so results may well be hard to achieve?
Is that fair?

It's fair about Luiz Tfiog, his challenge was reckless and then some. I got into a heated discussion with some Arsenal fans over that as they, like the ref and the FA thought it was just a head to head clash, not even a yellow. If Luiz had gone in and broke Jimenez's leg, different story. Luiz came in late, after Raul had cleared the ball, eyes closed, how reckless do you need to be? Yes, it cost us and Jimenez a lot last year and may still affect his Premier League career.
As for the here and now Wolves have a very talented group that's for sure so it's up to Lage now to get a tune out of them. If he can't then Fosun will replace him with someone who can and I would suggest there would be plenty of takers for the opportunity. Fingers crossed the new striker performs but they can't let him get dragged out of the box like Jimenez because that will mean no goals and therefore, a new manager.

Pretty fair points made. Luiz was a bit of a thug most of the time imv.

Our team against Newcastle was I thought great before the game. I was really disappointed with our performance if I'm honest. With that team to only have 36% of the ball I was very surprised and expected better from them. Hopefully we will improve and keep the ball better Newcastle having that much of it is only asking for trouble which is what we got in the end. Anyway bring on Bournemouth and let's see. At best our new guy may be on the bench but I think it will take time for him I expect before he's up to speed.

I must have cancelled my initial comment but yes Luiz is a pretty good scapegoat if you want to blame one individual.

Ken68, maybe after there 9_0 thumping, Bournemouth are thinking the same, plus whoever is in there dugout will be demanding a reaction.so do we struggle to a 1-0 win or do we get abit of a whipping.

I expect a win Demon. We should be too good for them, let's hope we can keep the ball better.
