There's been some very interesting analysis and observations below concerning Fosun's 'issues' and how it may impact on Wolves.
Given all of that, Jeff Shi did say recently that they were planning to float Wolves on the stock market within 3-5 years. Presumably, that would mean that Wolves would need to be both profitable, without unreasonable debt and doing well in the Premier League for that to happen?

I think you must be right LongmyndWolf. Any company on the Stock market has to be sound and successful to make money. It's a glorified betting shop really and a risk. Still, Jeff also said we would be in Europe soon and that plan has been delayed. I would treat anything the present management say as an aspiration rather than a promise.

I think your final sentence sums it up perfectly goggs.
Ground development still on hold and more failed transfer attempts than you can shake a stick at should teach us that much.

We're clearly no longer competitive when it comes to bidding for players and yet we spend 35 mil on fabio at a time when no other club in the world would have spent that much on him. They're not as astute as they'd have us believe

Personally, I'm not going to write Silva off yet Sharesum, he's still only 19 and I expect him to shine next season. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong but let's wait and see. It probably tells us how reliant we are on Jorges Mendes, a relationship which cuts both ways.
Wolves may yet surprise us in the transfer market, let's hope so as so far in this window we aren't cutting it.

If you Google fosun money out of china you will find very interesting Reuters articles (although not new) about Fosun, the relationship with Mendes and how the ultimate aim is to take a stake in young players. We ain't going to be signing experienced players any time soon I would say.

Ard- but how? Third party ownership isn't allowed so surely all they can ever do is be an agency? So how ever its cut a player will always have a fixed term contract with Gestfute (which they can usually break fairly easily). Look Mendes knows his business so I'm not saying I know better, but it would be nice to think we are more to the powers that be than a glorified shop window?!

Bully I don't know, I suspect that the original plans haven't come to fruition but taking stakes in clubs such as ourselves and Grasshoppers could be put in place but everything else that was part of the plan has been blown apart by Fifa, Covid and Chinese politics. Just my thoughts.
