Are any of us really surprised by today? I'm not if I'm honest. Hope only get's you to 3.00pm in a good place but the following 90 minutes just underlines and confirms the suspicions I've harboured and articulated over the last 5 years or so. Because Shi/Fosun are football illiterate it only needs someone, player or Manager to turn up and promise to not rock the boat and they're in.

Somebody needs to remind them that this isn't a social club or a golf club but a football club playing at an elite league level, but on the basis of that performance not for much longer. It will take a significant influx of decent players in January to perform not a minor but a major miracle. Unfortunately I think we all know that won't happen so I would suggest our fate is well and truly sealed. Fosun have no intention of stopping the rot, frankly the Summer window and the goings on since have proven that.

Now some will say it will take a while for RE to make his mark, fair enough, if that mark is worth making, personally, I'm not convinced and see this as an appointment along the lines I suggested earlier. Fosun have zero ambition for the Club and haven't for years so for me the sooner they've gone the better.

My problem is Shi/Fosun have been involved with this Club for 9+ years. As a result, it is ridiculous they remain football illiterate.
Poor planning and the lack of the creation of a sensible strategy, not just words and then blind panic has created this situation.
The January transfer window will not save us this time.


Allowing Shi to appoint himself Head of Football was crass. What a mess he has created.
Not sure of Edward's decision-making either. Appreciate he loves the Club, but he must have known the risks.
I just can't see any positive way forward and that makes me very sad.
