For Wolves to get out of this mess, we have to be relegated, it's the only way Fosun will drop us, they will be unable to make a profit.
Negativity runs throughout the club, we need a passionate owner and positivity will reign again.
I am seventy and I believe I have seen the last great Wolves team under Nuno.
I certainly hope not.
Let's get behind the team this season and hope for the best.

I loved the football played with Nuno, Rockitus, I thought VP was heading in the same way. Guess he is clear now on what he has to work with, really hope he is able to make things work, big job though.

The trouble with relegation, Rockitus, is that sometimes the downward spiral continues and continues.Don't forget that when we were relgated in the early 80's it took us 19 years to return to the top flight and we even had to sample the delights of division 4. Unfortunately relegation does seem odds on for this season. Let's hope that the two players we've bought and have yet to see can help make the difference between relegation fodder and a team that yet again will survive by the skin of its teeth. Pereira might have to alter some of his entrenched ways too.

Good but somewhat damning piece by Liam Keen summerising the window on E and S. When the Uche deal fell through I remember a few on here asking 'what's the club to do when the player moved the goal posts'. Well it would seem that in fact it was us (or more likely Mendes) that in fact moved the goal posts and caused the whole thing to collapse! This is infuriating as by all accounts at that point we were the only ones in for him. Just watch him fly for Palace now while the same posters shrug and say 'yeah but it's not the club's fault, the problem is greedy players'! No, it would seem that the problem was in fact Jorge Mendes being greedy (remind me who owns 10% of his agency) and this isn't the first time. Let's hope it doesn't cost us Prem footy eh ?

Rockitus, I've thought that for some time Fosun were cashing in ready to sell, the activity this summer makes me think they'll be on their way sooner rather than later.
Who would be wanting us is a totally different proposition to think about, but we need some fresh air about the place, some positivity and confidence, it can be found I'm sure, VP galvanised the players and supporters before and he can do it again, (if he remains).
It's a worrying time this morning and reading Johnny Phillips article on the state of things in the club underlines the mess we're in.
Of course we may still find that a realisation hits Shi etc and recruit a free agent, Ericsson, oxlaide-c, or another, but would that be enough?.
It'll take 4-5 games for the team to pick itself and gel, by which time we'll be too far behind.
It's a relegation scrap for us, and we'll be relying on other teams results to do us favours if we're to survive.
It's a sad fact Rockitus, but I think we have indeed seen the last of a decent wolves side at the mol for years to come, but yes, we've got to get behind them as always and keep the arthritic fingers crossed.

VP and nuno are 2 completely different styles.
I absolutely loved nuno's style.
Sit back, soak up the pressure and clinical counter attacks.
Not just clinical but also smart and simple one touch counter attacking football where the players know exactly where they need to be and what spaces to attack.
I absolutely loved it! And it was so difficult for teams to break us down.
And that's exactly what forest have today.
VP is totally different. It's win the ball back and then try and play possession and as good as it sounds it just doesn't work!

Sorry I will finish it
Sometimes you have to be patient
As we all know from the past.
With this team as it stands.
They need time to get up to soeed with the prem. And although up to now it doesn't look good enough to stay up. I believe when they are up to speed. We will be fine
Regarding relegation.
We all know on here, like myself
Will still support them with all my heart , whatever league were in
So at moment the team needs all our support, on and off the pitch
But we must still voice our concerns. And not gloss over the problems
Lets see where we are come xmas
We might be surprised,
Keep posting guys

Guys without wishing to upset you I am far from certain people - including astonishingly Fosun - realise just how serious relegation would be.
The club's last set of accounts show net debt of £318m and a cost base of over £250m.
In the Champ, with parachute payments, turnover is well under £100m and probably stabilises, after parachute payments end, at substantially under £50m.
Anyone who can be sold will be and even then survival as an entity is not assured.
Note in the last year in the Champ Wolves had a turnover of £26m a cost base of £90m and net debt of £75m
In other words if Wolves go down they will be in a far far worse position than when they came up!
ps At Seville Wolves had a covid adjusted turnover of £190m cost base of £180m and net debt of £186m
Thus it can be seen that it is the Jeff years that have hurt the club so badly - but most, (not all though amazingly), of you didn't need telling that!

Well said greylegwolf. Remember we may well spend in January to bring in players as well.

Dunno what or why we should be considering or asking this tfig but what extra tv income is there in the championship now? And what extra Ad revenue would it generate? Just a small point but the champ is going the same way relatively money wise as the prem did/has. So there maybe a potential for a buyer of sorts?

Abbey a quick bit of googling shows that after parachute payments teams in the champ turnover about £30m of which you are correct TV money represents a very substantial proportion - between £10 amd £20m?

Thanks Tfig, we'll just need Elong musk to stick an X on our shirts for a reasonable fee then!.
