Well done boys. Controlled the game and then maybe got a little too cocky but re focused and saw the game out. Now let’s smash city!

27 Apr 2024 20:38:42
Good result today for me Traore was motm.
Got to give a shoutout to Luton who were great no dark arts or trying to cheat they just got on with the game.
Ref deserves a shoutout too I thought he was superb let the game flow and got decisions spot on.

No bet today guys I completely forgot, if I was to bet i'd go 2-0 to Wolves Cunha first scorer.

Hiya Rated.25 minutes in, same old same old. Just don't look like scoring one never mind two!

27 Apr 2024 17:42:59
Ah well.a win is a win.

27 Apr 2024 19:48:42
Who ordered the win and two goals? A well needed three points well done wolves not one but two goals sure the moaners will be happy with the win

27 Apr 2024 07:29:16
What controversies are in store for us today, folks? I used to look forward to the game.

27 Apr 2024 07:57:19
VAR has definitely spoilt the game, I believe we should ban it like the Swedish FA have done, apart from goal line technology. Wolves seem to have had some bad VAR decisions and so have other clubs. I have lost interest in the game since VAR have been introduced. It’s obvious to me that VAR officials do not know what they are doing and saying sorry after making mistakes does not bring back the points lost. My wife says maybe the officials are corrupt.

27 Apr 2024 08:36:02
I'm interested to see the reactions and ambitions today. Luton will see this as a potential 3 points in their survival fight and be up for it. We've got a lot of wrongs to pit right after the bournmouth game and GON must show us his motivation. We as supporters have to get behind the lads or we could find everyone's concentration dropping and resign9ng ourselves to defeat. With man city Palace and Liverpool to come we don't want to go out on a string of hiding. Get behind the boys, it is a big game all round confidence wise. So, COYW COYW COYW.

Soon be the close season and will be pining for the footy to return.
For me it's going to better than last years close season for a few reasons,
1, it's one out the every 2 years with the euros or world cup.
The euros in Germany with an eye if neto is fit watching portugal and our other players.

2, much more hope with GON to sign his own players along with the absolute need to add to the squad so next season we don't burn out when injuries occur.

3.
Putting VAR to the side we've got the mentality under GON and our owners and hobbs to really kick on.

Today the obvious we will either win well or repeat our poor displays.
Hope of course we play well for my bro firstly myself and all wolvrs fans on our wolves rumours/banter site.

Title looks like man City but wouldn't it be great if turned them.over next week.

COYW

27 Apr 2024 10:38:50
I really hope we put on a performance today. We can't get Europe and we can't go down.

If I was GON, I'd go all Brian Clough on the team and say that they are fighting for their future at the club. Too many have become complacent.

The only players that seem to try are AIT, Semedo, Lemina, Gomes and Cunha. The rest of them are on the beach and need a kick up the ar*e.

26 Apr 2024 15:19:00
Julen Lopetegui has held talks with David Sullivan regarding replacing David Moyes at West Ham.

I'll always be thankful to JL for saving us last season but the way he left us so close to the start of the season still irks me and so I hope he gets the West Ham job and he fails.

I've never felt so bitter towards a former manager of ours and I include Dean Saunders. Terry Connor and Stale Solbakken in that list.

26 Apr 2024 15:46:11
I'd politely say Terry "clipboard" Connor was given an impossible job.

I still shudder when I hear Dean Saunders name and his famous comment "the opposition didn't have one shot on target" (Wolves were beaten 3-1)

Regarding Julien Lopetegui, I'm indifferent. He could've left under different circumstances and given Wolves a bit more time to find his replacement, but we got Gary O'Neill and he's been doing a super job to date.

26 Apr 2024 17:20:25
I agree Jas, Lope was a complete bottle job from the beginning (bailing on Fosuns original bid) till the end (throwing the towel in preseason) of his association with this club! He also made it VERY clear we were always just a stepping stone to him. Now I don't actually mind that (just how the game works) but at least have the decency to pretend otherwise! I suppose its hardly surprising for a man that screwed over his own national team just weeks before a WC!
I hope he fails miserably at WHU and I hope when they come to us the Mol sing GONs name at him VERY loudly from the first kick to the last! 😜

26 Apr 2024 17:34:43
Glenn Hoddle. Worst Manager ever for me and there is some bad ones mentioned above.

26 Apr 2024 18:54:42
I would have thought he'd go for a team that wears yellow to match his belly colour yellow belly coward.

27 Apr 2024 10:06:32
Walter Zenga took some beating as a poor appointment.

27 Apr 2024 11:02:32
Silver lining Arddunby we were massive in Italy lol.

27 Apr 2024 13:11:32
That must have been the reason for Patrick Cutrone joining then Phil!🤣

26 Apr 2024 12:05:11
Perhaps the way forward regarding VAR would be to create a petition for presentation to the FA and also the government, I'm sure that the majority of club supporters would get behind it which could give us hundreds of thousands signatures which could surely not go unheeded.
Power to the people once more.

26 Apr 2024 13:34:19
I think Derry, the issue is the 'not fit for purpose' operators.
I would keep the technology and replace the current incumbents with better quality, better trained personnel.

26 Apr 2024 17:14:23
Problem is Rugeley those personnel don't exist! People make out that VAR doesn't work because of poorly trained refs/cutting corners/cheap recruitment etc. Nothing could be further from the truth, we have one of the most comprehensive systems for training refs and we (almost certainly) have some of the best paid officials in the world of footy! Sorry but it's just not that simple. And it's also not corruption maybe unintentional bias at most!
I've got to be honest I've actually come to the point were I now think VAR just doesn't work for footy, that simple! We tried it and it wasn't to be. I would keep the goal line stuff and maybe this automated Offside (depending on how well it seems to work). As for the rest let's just go back to what we know works! Yes there will be some goals that shouldn't have counted and some bad decisions along the way but at least it will still be FOOTBALL! When a goal goes in I want to celebrate it again, not sit there like I'm waiting for a call from my doctor to hear if the news is good or bad!😂
I increasingly dislike the sport I once loved cause I just don't recognise it anymore and I don't think I'm alone there? 👍🐺

26 Apr 2024 19:18:03
Love the doctor analagy, Bully's. For me, a major issue is that when ref's are called over to the monitor they always seem to change their original decision.I'd love to see the percentage stats but they always seem to bottle it when called over. Surely that's not how it should be because the vast majority of the decisions are subjective.

Maybe in the region of 60% or so would be reasonable but it seems to be very close to 100%.We therefore all know what's going to happen, the pantomime dame draws the imaginary television screen and we're stuffed yet again!

26 Apr 2024 19:29:22
I'm 100% with you bully's, as you say there'd still be the odd poor decision, always will be regardless, and maybe a 'free' lunch offered under some circumstances but at least we'd know at the time, enjoy the game and argue the toss in the pub, which for me was part of the whole experience.

Let offside be offside again not a toe or kneecap but when a player gets a definite advantage. I honestly believe that VAR is making refs poorer in that they don't apply the same levels of thought to their decisions because they've somebody to 'correct' them. (Ie. Totis goal at Liverpoolin cup wasn't given because nobody could decide due to lack of camera).

But yes it's getting increasingly sole destroying to see wonderful goals chalked off for minor indiscretions. Thinking as we did the other night that we'd equalised twice, on both occasion I couldn't celebrate for expecting VAR to find something.

26 Apr 2024 22:48:08
I agree with all the above I have just watched the QPR Leeds game and it was a pleasure to watch a game of football that wasn’t spoiled by very average referees (var) the 3rd goal would have been disallowed for a push on the defender before he jumped for the header but nobody said a word and just got on with it. That to me is what we should be watching not the pantomime we get in the prem

27 Apr 2024 10:56:48
My thoughts were always VAR in football would never work like in rugby as football always has to flow not this stop start stop start.

But its here and have no choice up to know and almost will never ever change.

I accept the rules are rules but hard to accept when VAR decisions are wrong agaisnt us.

Where does it end with VAR, high time our club grew a pair and kcked up a fuss about it enough is enough.

Regarding Semedo at CB that was due to Bueno getting a hamstring injury that's why he had to come off.

My love for the game has gone with VAR I walked out of the match early for the first time tonight.

25 Apr 2024 06:48:08
Life can be hard and injustice at times. But there are also some good moments. Going fishing ride my old Norton or watch a good game of football. Well football is no longer on that list. Thank you VAR.

25 Apr 2024 06:52:20
t is not just the incompetents managing the technology Rated, but also the diluting of the world rated "pyramid system" we have in British football, dodgy Ownerships and confusing Financial Rules.
The beautiful game as we have known it is fast disappearing.

25 Apr 2024 08:04:52
I can live with human errors by the referee. It's part of the game and life. Nobody is perfect. What I have learnt to hate is faceless people behind closed doors making bad decisions "to your own good". And for me VAR has become a symbol of such injustice. I have had more than enough of that in real life. Why pay money to get even more.

25 Apr 2024 08:20:50
I don't think you're on your own with that thought Rated, personally I can't wait for this season to end.

It would be the old Norton ride for me Shrekken, what model/year is it? My ride out this Sunday (ride for life) has been postponed due to weather concerns so the frustration grows.

25 Apr 2024 08:23:43
Many predicted that the influx of massive sums of money into the game would be the death of it, were they right, probably.

25 Apr 2024 08:24:19
I think the fans from every team
Should do something.
Because the fa will not.
It's rife in football now. It's embarrassing surely to the fa
Week in week out
What if for one batch of games
No one attended a match. In protest
Surely it will prompt a refurb of var
Goal line technology is fine
What doesn't help is bloody TV
Zooming in on tight decisions either being given wrongly or correctly
Thus causing mass hysteria among supporters
If we went back to refs on field
decision, then carry on at once, as it was originally, we would get the
Banter amongst ourselves if he was right or wrong

25 Apr 2024 09:06:09
It's a Norton commando 850 1975. Starting rebuilding a t160 now. Hope to get it on the road next summer. It's a terrible disease called anglofil. Can't be cured. But lots of fun.

25 Apr 2024 09:32:18
Love it Shrekken, great bike and great that Norton seem to be in safe hands now after the previous shenanigans.

25 Apr 2024 10:27:27
Longmynd, money money money, who cares about football and the fans? The FA cup final will be played in Dubai after replays are stopped, top prem teams seeded at quarter final stage with computer assisted refereeing, virtual penalty shoot outs next, I wouldn't be surprised.

I think the Spanish super cup is/was to be moved out there already.

Last night's VAR involvement showed with hwangs goal that the games being taken away. Yes cunha raised his arm and it was a yellow, possibly even a red card but it didn't have any effect on the goal. You could argue that a foul should have been awarded but it didn't influence play contributing to the goal, and it didn't obstruct kleivert so it was off the ball contact, surely the goal awarded and cunha punished after? But no, the equaliser is cancelled by the 'computer says no' attitude of some detached manipulators, who's decisions flummox.
Kilmans effort, whilst his heel being on the line drawn out for offside, could never of benefitted from that marginal amount in finishing so it made no difference. Except for the zealots on VAR and the rules they apply in disallowing a goal. How can anyone play to those dictats? It surely changes the game of football as we knew it and why don't they listen to the chants of the PAYING fan who they see as their cash cows.

25 Apr 2024 17:33:58
You're not wrong Abbey and Greyleg makes good points. Fan power needs to step in and take the game back because every season it keeps getting worse.

It's like nothing is thought through which is of course typical of modern thinking but someone needs to put a stop to it.

25 Apr 2024 21:06:17
Sadly Longmynd, it is a money juggernaut driven by the Americans, determined to bring the Franchise Model to European Football.
.and it ain't stopping!

25 Apr 2024 21:47:51
I said this some many posts ago.'we all live in America' and changes will be imposed on us regardless of how we protest. Someone said on an earlier post that the vast sums of money have now started to ruin the game and they're correct. Corruption, is/will become part and parcel. I had a season ticket for over 30 years and took both my lads, and maybe not surprisingly neither has any interest in football now. I still watch pretty much most Wolves games on TV by whatever means possible but glad now I don't part with hard earned cash. Ridiculous decisions, can't celebrate goals in case VAR intervenes, constant lengthy interruptions in play due to VAR. Some ill qualified guy remote from the game making stupid decisions. 100+ minute games, no consistency re FFP. In short a total mess. PL the best in the world. Really. The other leagues must be dreadful, because we're going backwards year on year. I'll still support/follow Wolves but won't put my money into something now that's simply so bad.

26 Apr 2024 07:50:43
And, news from Sweden this morning that their FA are not going to use VAR. I wonder why? I would imagine they watch a lot of English prem on TV there, but how long until they'll be banned from EUFA if they don't comply?

26 Apr 2024 11:46:46
I never wanted VAR so I'm biased anyway but it's sucking the life and enjoyment out of the game in my opinion.
It was supposed to be about clear and obvious! It isn't!
They are re-refereeing the game. Stop it.
It's like life in general if you give power to people they will use it. That doesn't explain it very well but that's what's happening.
