I hope this is true! After the Rangers v Kilmarnock game, our very own Fabio had a bust up with the Killie first team coach and punches were allegedly thrown. Someone called ALEX RAE!

07 May 2024 18:14:37
Sorry Alex is the `Rangers coach

07 May 2024 22:36:00
Haha. Well we will soon know if it's true cause if it really was Alex Rae they will be sending what's left of Fabio back in an envelope! 🙈🤣

Just wanted to add my thanks to the Eds for keeping this site orderly and respectful, unlike some.

I would also like to sympathise with those who have had enough of travelling long distances only to witness the slow demise of the game in the Premier League. The absurd levels of spending which encourages cheating plus the inexplicable and indefensible refereeing/VAR decisions all taking their toll.

Personally, I don't get to the Molineux as much as I would like these days but still invest plenty of time and emotional energy following my club. I can live with losing, I can live with injuries and dips in form or even managerial failings, but all the other stuff, nope. That literally puts some teams in a 'can't win' situation and that is just not on.

Let's see if the League applies appropriate punishments to the 'top' teams as it did to those from lower down. Let's see if the proposed changes to VAR improves it's validity. Let's see if we can get through a season without the words referee and corruption appearing in the same sentence.

Am I hopeful? no not really, so for me, the jury is well and truly out, one more season with the absurdity of this one and I'm probably done.

{Ed001's Note - that's really sad that people have had enough, but I do understand it. I find myself watching much less football than I used to. It is just not as enjoyable.}

07 May 2024 02:17:40
I find myself watching the lower leagues these days mate, next season i'm going to go to Bilston town fc matches, i'm done with the Premier league I will always love Wolves but I just can't put up with the corruption of the Premier league anymore mate.

{Ed001's Note - lower league footie needs more fans and the people involved in the game actually do it because they care not for the money. It used to be that people would go to their main team when they were at home and then a lot of them would just go and watch local teams when they were away. That was what kept local football going and why we have the ban on televised games at 3pm on a Saturday. The game at that level deserves better - more people going along to support and better support from the highest levels of the game.}

07 May 2024 07:23:01
Absolutely, Ed001/Rated we used to go and watch Walsall if Wolves were away. No one ever truly walks away from their team but fans need to be more proactive, imo.

Money will always corrupt I suppose but the technology is there to help the officials get it right, like in other sports, not create another way to get it wrong. So let's hope lessons have been learnt and refs get back to controlling the game and not the result, this ain't wrestling.

{Ed001's Note - one of my coaches as a kid was a Walsall fan and worked for them as a scout. Or Smallsall as he always jokingly referred to them.}

07 May 2024 08:58:05
VAR/referees - Learn from the rugby set up if we can 🤷🏼‍♂️

07 May 2024 09:50:04
Football the game should flow not stopping for 2 or over minutes everytime it goes to VAR.
This needs to be resolved amongst the other changes to what's needed.

Re Walsall, My dad used to take my bro and I to fellows Park when were young kids.
Remember my dad telling me how to Remember the capital of Poland its down the road Warsaw (walsall).

{Ed001's Note - that is spot on Phil. The reason football is so good is its flow. American sports are boring to me because of their stop start nature. Whereas footie you can get caught up in the ongoing back and forth without having to stop so some fat knacker can get another hotdog.}

07 May 2024 11:19:08
Var will never work, it’s only useful for “matter of fact”, individual fouls can’t possibly be isolated and looked at on screen by someone who’s not even in the Stadium, only the ref and his assistants including the see what’s going on between players, refs let some things go, some players deserve to be fouled because they’ve “got away with one” themselves, refs can take a look at the screen if they think they’ve missed something, how many officials does it take to referee such a simple game as football? We used to referee ourselves when we were kids, we knew the biggest lads were always right, worked better than VAR though.

07 May 2024 12:24:58
Exactly BosWolf mate var works really well in rugby, on Netgen tv there is a rugby channel and during a var check you hear the conversation, the ref also explains to the players what is being said and what is happening.

07 May 2024 13:26:24
Rated I get your point but are the refs, even the top ones sufficiently familiar with the rules and is the FA/EPL guidance robust enough for an in stadium discussion to take place!

07 May 2024 15:05:22
Ed001 gosh we almost came to blows then! As one who identifies as both "fat" and "knackered" I was about to get the old boxing gloves on! But the in the nick of time you said hot dog, never eaten one! If you'd said pie you would have been in trouble mate!

As for VAR I hate it with a passion. For me part of the game was always having a beer after the game and treating the referees performance like that of a player! All 23 men ( plus women now I guess) do their best but they are human and mistakes happen. Live with it, our game is fast just how we want it and errors will occur. Get over it, it's what I loved, now it's being ruined!

West Ham used to have class! Lopetigui announcing himself as their new manager on the BBC website in his interview with Baggage his Spanish spokesman is utterly classless! David Moyes did not deserve that. I do hope it all ends in tears!

{Ed001's Note - sorry Ken, I apologise for the confusion. By the way knacker must be scouse slang, I never realised, it just means something like fool, idiot, or similar, so clearly not you.}

07 May 2024 15:46:03
Ed001 no need to apologise, I'm still laughing! I wasn't in the least offended just gave me a reason to go off st a tangent. Actually I suppose it would be interesting to see how much food sales go up during VAR interventions! A profitable consequence of a terrible system!

{Ed001's Note - you jest but one of the reasonings things like stoppages for VAR and water breaks were suggested in the first place was for exactly that purpose. Why do you think clubs are so happy to have a stoppage so Muslim players can break their fasts during Ramadan? It is not altruistic, they know that there are Muslims in the crowd who will also buy food and drink for that purpose, as well as the usual people in the crowd who nip for a drink or bite to eat.

FIFA actually had a look into all kinds of things that could be used during FIFA tournaments. There was the usual things that can media coverage, such as splitting the game into thirds or quarters etc, but breaks for video replays of match events was in there as a suggestion.}

07 May 2024 16:46:52
Ed001 it's the disease of the 2000's everyone from government down interfering to fix things that don't have anything wrong with them! I find all the interventions in all facets of life, sport etc etc so annoying. The micro managing of our daily lives is becoming quite intolerable. Thankfully most of my life has been lived so probably won't have to put up with it for many more years!

07 May 2024 17:06:25
It also means something that is worn out Ed001, usually due to overuse or age. Lots of us can probably admit to that.

07 May 2024 19:04:55
You've hit the nail on the head there Ed. It's not about a game of football anymore it's being treated like a TV show with Ad breaks. They've ruined the sport to line they're already full pockets and we're the mugs for paying.
Ken, never imagined you as the fat knacker type, but reminded me of a time we went to QPR away, years ago now, queued up for pies, everyone in front walking away with steaming succulent pastries. Got ours which felt warm but on trying to bite in found them frozen solid in the middle, no chance of getting back for a refund.Then we found ourselves seated with a bloody great piller blocking the view of the goalmouth. We tried thawing the pies in our hands, between our legs and wrapped in our bobble hats (told you it was a long time ago). They ended up on the the floor on the way out. Never bothered with a pie since.

Intriguing posts. All true from the heart and the brain.
I moan as much as anyone, I admit it
, and as much as I don't want to, but the only way to put, our case across, is by declining, to go to matches, decline buying merchandise, stop funding the very hand that feeds us.
Our beautiful game is no more
The enjoyments gone
So why watch it.
We the people
Have the power to do something about this, cloud that hangs over football
The hardest part is to get everyone to stick together
We all want the same thing
Our game back

06 May 2024 14:56:53
Just want to say a big thankyou to the Eds for giving us a place where we can rant, talk about our club etc without trolls using the laughing emoji etc.

{Ed001's Note - thanks Rated. It is always good to read your views.}

06 May 2024 16:45:47
Good call Rated!

Cheers to all the Eds and contributors.

{Ed001's Note - thank you FJ. It is the contributors that make it what it is though.}

06 May 2024 16:56:02
Well done Rated. very nicely said!

06 May 2024 17:14:48
Here here all.
Full appreciation to the Eds and all wolves nuts posters.

We are a football family.

06 May 2024 20:08:18
Nice on Eds.

06 May 2024 14:44:15
Saturday will be my last game at Molineux as not renewing s/t. As a long distance supporter from Hampshire I find it increasingly difficult to drive and train fares have gone through the roof but the main reason is the fact var has destroyed the enjoyment of watching live. We always have to accept defeats if we play badly or face a better team but not by some twit at var who either has an agenda against Wolves or just incompetent. Given up counting the nonsense decisions awarded against us this season. Premier League trying to get rid of Chinese ownership maybe? Anyway enough is enough. UTW!

06 May 2024 18:55:14
I sympathise 47. For me to travel from Dorset now is an expense to be considered. Coupled with my deep suspicion that events seem to be weighted against us. Why the conversations between officials discussing a situation on the pitch have to be conducted in secret gives rise to concern over the outcomes. Let's hear the discussion and views of the experts. We do in cricket and rugby, and no-one has died as a result. The PL and FA officials should be big enough to explain the decisions they make.

06 May 2024 23:45:54
So true Wimbourne.

06 May 2024 12:46:06
Lopetegui to West Ham agreed. As much as I loved him whilst he was here, I really hope he fails.

I know circumstances behind the scenes meant the goal posts were moved but to publicly lambast Hobbs and Shi was unforgivable.

06 May 2024 13:28:32
Agree 100% but I don't think he will still be there by end of next season, because West Ham are a hire and fire club and he is a proven quitter if he does not get his own way

06 May 2024 13:32:06
Me too. For me a very unprofessional person. A good manager may dislike/disagree with those above him, but to publicly lambast those above, was as you rightly say unforgivable. At least we know Wolves won't be selling any players to West Ham. Let's see how he gets on there when it starts going pear shaped.

06 May 2024 14:09:13
Thanks for keeping us in the league J-Lo, but we got a better manager in GON.

06 May 2024 14:57:18
Wait until he finds out West Ham don't spend big.

06 May 2024 17:43:26
He's on the money go round, dosnt really give his heart to a club. Can't see it working out with west ham, and agree with you hendesford, he'll be gone by the new year.

06 May 2024 20:45:36
I will give him 6 months.

07 May 2024 22:44:04
I can not stand the man but sadly suspect he will actually do well there (but I really hope not)! Even if he does it will only do WHU so much good because the moment he has even a smidge of success he'll be off on his toes openly/pubically applying for the next chance! He is a good manager but he is also an entirely disloyal/disingenuous person! Anyone that screws over there own national job just before a WC is clearly incapable of loyalty! Good luck WHU fans, in fairness they don't want him and I think it's mostly because of the way he left us high and dry! Eitherway the way WHU owners have gone about it is all shades of wrong, Moyes delivers a Euro trophy and gets treated like this?! They should have shown a little class and just waited till the season finished to announce! 🤢

05 May 2024 23:43:27
I see the press are at it again.

Joao Pedro is touted as a bargain as he's scored 9 league goal (4 pens) and got 2 assists on 29 games

Cunha is not as good as he's got 11 league goals (1 pen) and 7 assists.

They really do hate us don't they.

06 May 2024 08:20:53
Let's be honest jas if you don't come from London (Brighton not that far from the capital) Manchester or Liverpool you don't really get a mention, unless your doing something exceptional, (Leicester 2015). Even the vile don't really register in that sense. The press know where the selling points are and sadly Wolverhampton dosnt feature much in those areas.
Having said that, and maybe due to my age, I find that everyone still has a 'soft spot' for us due to the successes of the 50s. No doubt that's now being forgotten and unheard of by today's youth. So, as with Ipswich Burnley Southampton etc we'll always be second placed newswise.
To be honest I sometimes prefer that, it makes winning away at Chelsea even sweeter for example.

05 May 2024 15:46:52
With the season all but over. Who would you like to see joining Wolves ranks, and who do you think will be sold?

(Interesting that Enzo Gonzalez was on the bench yesterday)

05 May 2024 17:02:40
Get rid of Kilman, Doherty, Silva. Bring in Eric Dier, McTominay, Rodrigo Gomes and Carlton Morris.

Let GON look at the players currently out on loan to see if they are good enough.

Send Fraser, Chiwome and Chirewa out on loan to gain some experience.

If you believe social media, we are also keeping tabs on Paul Pogba in case he wins his appeal to overturn his ban.

05 May 2024 18:38:41
Pogba, really? he brings too much drama off the pitch.

05 May 2024 20:29:11
My thoughts too. But Talking Wolves and The Wolf Pack are both saying it.

06 May 2024 08:52:26
Any additions to the squad will almost certainly be, in some respect, dictated by which of our players are cherry picked by the money clubs. Neto, Cunha, Gomes, Sa etc will all be difficult to replace and it won't be cheap to bring in quality replacements. Hopefully the club have identified their targets and move quickly to get them in and allow GON time to mould the new group.

06 May 2024 09:24:29
Any players from the relegated clubs who may be worth a punt?

06 May 2024 09:40:17
I'm really hoping that GON has privately stated that we will not be selling our better players and need to bring in good quality additions, where we are suspect. Attack and defence. We should then be in a position to compete for a European spot next season. Our current first choice squad I believe can compete with the so called bigger sides VAR and poor ref decisions aside, it's just we lack any real quality/experience in depth.
Don't know what to think about the Pogma rumour. Yes Drama certainly surrounds him, but if you want to raise the club profile?

06 May 2024 17:47:42
We're wolves, the pack, don't want the Pogba show distracting. I don't think he's consistent, and can be more trouble than good. The wages he'd want could be better spent.

05 May 2024 14:40:42
The sooner the SKY and TNTSports bubble bursts the better imo, not only was City given a penalty that should never have been given a handball by them wasn't even looked at.
I echo what others have said the sooner the protected 6 go to a super league the better for football as a whole.
It's pathetic City are good enough to beat us they shouldn't need help, goes to show the so called big 6 aren't as good as they think they are.

05 May 2024 15:56:14
The PL are clearly utilising VAR as a means to control outcomes of games to favour the big clubs and ensure their involvement in Europe. The mid table also rans like us are there to make up numbers and provide a semblance of a competition. I wish the big six would nail their colours and depart to a European league, and allow the rest to compete on a level playing field in a real competition without the interference of VAR.

05 May 2024 16:17:46
I don’t believe in this conspiracy but rather think it’s just total incompetence to be honest. Yes the first wasn’t a pen but the second prob was. Semedo was poor in his positioning and as soon as he makes a challenge and makes contact you know it will be overturned.

05 May 2024 23:37:54
vbwolf, you're right. But the fact that the ref gave the 1st penalty had a detrimental effect on our players who knew from that moment that the decisions were going to go against them. The fact that VAR cleared the refs decision proves that the officiating is at an all time low.

05 May 2024 11:50:40
It would be nice to see Solihul win today.
