The bit that intrigues me now is why are they dragging it out to complete? The exclusivity time is running out fast.

Keep up Abyss 😡.

Sorry Paul, I think I'm just blind. I can't seem to find any posts by him that say anything about a press conference or announcement tomorrow! xD.

So Derby has the paperwork gone through for the first consortium?

8.) 19 Jul 2016

That is correct Abyss I haven't, what I said was exclusivity deal for consortium 1 runs out tomorrow.

Can't see there being announcement this week not with Tim two weeks behind spiers being in cork.

19 Jul 2016 19:47:46
Ohhh ok, so if no announcement is made tomorrow then the second consortium has their chance. So even if there isn't an announcement of some sort tomorrow, your point still won't be disproved. could be weeks until anything is finalised.

It does make a bit of sense, not that it seems Robin Li has actually bought into Milan, he may still have been part of the consortium involved, but whatever, press have said AC Milan are in exclusive talks with a cut off date when exclusivity ends.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's not announced tomorrow, I personally guess the red tape is stuff out of their hands that they didn't expect, maybe like Brexit causing the FA/ EFL to be unsure if Fit and Proper test conditions are still watertight and it is being sorted (them just wanting to be sure after Leeds fiasco) .

If so and if they are the best buyer for Wolves (which them being first in queue might suggest) , Wolves will give them more time to complete.

So even if nothing happens tomorrow, I won't doubt DerbyWolf was given correct info, and it's just developed a bit since and it will come right, maybe still with Robin Li.

DerbyWolf don't try and water it down? So basically are u sayin if we don't hear anything tomorrow they've moved on to the second bidder?

But Derbywolf, if papers have already gone off to FL/ FAor whoever, that would tend to indicate that price etc had already been agreed, don't you think? If that bit's not true, I presume you're saying that a new consortium then steps in and tries to reach agreement prior to submitting papers to FL/ FA? If that really is the cade (which I doubt! ) , we really are in the brown sticky stuff because the transfer window will have closed before agreement.
I don't know you, nor you me, so i'll drop short of calling it all BS, but your claims really don't make any logistical sense. or is it just me?!

There is this thing that could account for the red tape, that the FA and EFL might have turned into an issue when it really wasn't. Robin Li will probably have an EU rather than UK Visa.

Our Govt have apparently scheduled Article 50 to be implemented Jan 2017, to complete at latest Jan 2019, at which point we will be out of EU. And our Govt have refused to guarantee that EU residents in UK, and I'd assume therefore EU Visa's too, will have a legal right to remain in UK after that point - because they say that although they intend that to be the case, they can't guarantee it because it needs to be part of Article 50 negotiations, so we get counter guarantees from EU.

So, without any insider info, it might be the case that an over zealous FA / EFL are demanding the buyer gets a UK Visa first before being approved Fit and Proper, as the buyer will obviously still need legal resident status in UK after 2019 that a current EU Visa apparently at the moment doesn't necessarily legally guarantee.

{Ed001's Note - club owners do not require a visa to be approved. Not sure why you think that is relevant. Visas are temporary things.}

But he'd need some kind of guaranteed residency status awarded to him wouldn't he? (that would have to still be valid after 2019, conditions for which might have been compromised in some way by Brexit, at least in terms of the FA/ EFL being certain for the Fit and Proper test, and so are going to whatever extra lengths) .

I just suspect it must be something like that, because I believe the original ITK's, who believed it was done and was going to be announced, but I think then some technical hitch came out of the blue last minute that delayed it. Fit and Proper test and Brexit just seems a likely contender, or maybe just most benign? I'm not itk, just trying to be positive but still logical :-)

There are several types of visa as I understand it. MR Li isn't going to live here or indeed probably will not work here therefore he would only require a basic vistitors visa which are given out willy nilly in the UK.

I am taking a cautious step back from edge of the cliff.
So my guess at Robin Li appears to be incorrect. Telegraph have now named names. They have shares in Jorg Mendez company.
They are fast running out of time.

The only thing i'll say, knowing nothing personally, is that the original info from the Spanish journo was the Porto manager, Mendes, and Li. The new info appears to be the same except replace Li with this Fosan group. Seems odd that the rest of it is the same. why would original journo get this last most important bit wrong? Plus, since Li clearly knows he's being linked, why no denial as he has with Milan?

What is this nonsense about anyone involved being held up by the need for a visa. RICH PEOPLE Get whatever they want, RICH owners of businesses get What they want. WHATEVER they want. As the line that the current government awkwardly plant at every prime ministers question time says BRITAIN IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS' (cue public school accented cheers)
