Relax folks things are happening, JL is currently on holiday at the moment but the cogs are turning.

I like your optimism Rated-not sure what you know, or how you know. I on the other hand view our club as nothing more than a shambles at the minute. Abbey is right, Lopetegui was quoted as wanting deals done by July 1st, and we are a long way from that. I don't believe the promoter pulling out of the South Korea tosh-more than likely a smokescreen as for the second season in a row, the pre-season has gone pear shaped because of lack of dosh. Now instead of having really good intensive and high brow fixtures against Roma and Celtic, we'll now be facing the usual third tier Iberian amateurs. Sorry for the rant but there is naff all to be optimistic about.

{Ed001's Note - lack of dosh? Premier League clubs don't go on these tours and pay for them. They get paid, that's why they do them. They make millions from them. There is no smokescreen, you are talking nonsense and clearly have not got a clue what you are talking about. If Lopetegui had a choice, he would want to stay in Europe and play those third tier amateurs to set his team up for the season. They see these tours as an inconvenience.}

Thankyou ED mate you have said mostly what I was going to say to him on this.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

QS, you're a glass half empty type of person?

Roma are also believed to have pulled put of trip, so I doubt this is the clubs doing, things will move along in next week or 2 and all will be forgotten by some, time to relax and look.fprqard to season ahead, Wolves will be in good shape come end of pre season

Thanks for the correction Sydney, I thought it was Milan who pulled out, but you are correct it was Roma.

As Ed001 stated the clubs get paid to go on these tours but the promoter has lost their main investor and don't look like being in a position to fulfill their financial obligations. So like Roma, Wolves have pulled out now to give themselves chance to get something else organised. I think a similar thing happened last year with the proposed tournament in the USA.

Sorry QS, not the club's fault.

Coady and Collins on the verge of leaving. Mosquera staying in USA on loan.

That leaves Dawson and Kilman as the outright CBs with Toti Gomes and Marques as back up. A defender must have been identified and incoming otherwise to let the 3 leave/remain on loan is idiotic.

Sanderson is not good enough, Lonwijk is not ready.

Let's not worry as I'm sure the club have this in hand.

My thoughts are going on previous windows it's never straight forward as many on here seem to not realise to sign players.
As have said I've learnt to be patient.
With lopetegui and our club in sync there's no reason to say why we can't have a good season.
But always basis for the pessimist that there's a reason for us to have a bad season.
There's a long way to go before the transfer window shuts.
Abbey I see you worried and never in a zillion trillion years would I ever think you are a pessimist.
Things will turn out eventually.

My main thought wasn't exactly pessimistic phil, initially it was that JL may not be happy with the way things were going and given the reported reaction to his FFP 'surprise' may decide to leave us in the lurch. After other postings I thought maybe I was panicking over nothing. I'm sure wheels are in motion, decisions being made as jas points out above, it'd be idiotic to let players go without things being in place. That said I'd like to hear something positive from JL. Whatever, whoever we start the season with I'll be positive every game and looking forward to them.

We have to move players on before any come in because of the financial constraints governing us. We may already have incoming players but can't finalise until Collins and Coady deals are done. Always baffling when fans think its so easy to just buy a player.

A reporter from the Athletic posted a good article a couple of days ago in ref to FFP in regards to Arsenal, it stated at the end that with the Covid period they could actually wipe off nearly 162 million . Their losses were close to 168 million over the 3 year period, yet they are still spending nearly 200 million in this window. So if they can wipe off so much is it not the same pro rotar with other clubs such ourselves. It needs someone to breakdown the figures to show how fair we are in the hole.

Just had a look at the figures quoted by transfermarkt which don't seem to include the business completed so far this window.

-114.24m euros 22/23
-5.8m euros 21/22
-8.39m euros 20/21

I don't confess to fully understand ffp but it doesn't look to me that were in quite as much trouble as some clubs with the recent sales.
