After tonight's defeat by Northampton Town Kenny Jackett has implied that a deal for Chris Wood has hit the rocks. Apparently they've been unable to agree a deal with Leicester or the player.

"It looks like that one has passed and we are moving on. We didn't get a deal agreed with either the club or the player."

On the basis of that quote one would assume that Wood wants to fight for his place in the Premier League.

As I've said before this squad is mid table at best, the board and manager give us all the talk but in my world actions speak louder than words! We miss out on Woods? Were we really after him? We are tryin to achieve things on the cheap and it WONT work! This is not division 3! Ambition? The club don't know the meanin of the word!

2.) 13 Aug 2014
Either that or moxey and Morgan being tight as usual and won't pay the amount to offer decent wages

I want hear what happened. clearly something gone on behind the scenes leicestsr didn't want much and wages mihht be a bit much but surely thdy can afford him. I would be very disappointed if he ended up at anothrr championship club

4.) 13 Aug 2014
I have said it before this club will not compete in the market with Morgan and Moxey at the helm-fact! We were one of the first clubs promoted and apart from two free transfers have done nothing all summer to strengthen the squad. Jackett will walk away from this penny pinching situation and I wouldn't blame him-all this on the back of another pathetic cup performance. MORGAN SELL UP AND GO!!!

5.) 13 Aug 2014
The lad is obviously after better wages! He'll go on loan to Sheff Wed or Derby where they will pay part of his wages & Leicester the remainder! Doesn't lose out & it's a no brainer! Think we've missed out on a player who could have been pure quality for us! Hope we now don't sign some Carthorse or rely on Clarke; we'll be in big trouble!

6.) 13 Aug 2014
Apparently he is in talks with Norwich. Doubt he'll get played at Leicester at all

Quite right we didn't meet his wage demands which were probably much more than Davis and Forde combined and more than any of our first team too, probably. Clearly Kenny couldn't sell him the Wolves vision, so as he says, move on.

8.) 13 Aug 2014
Whoever does the groundwork on these transfers isn't doing their job properly! That's his top 3 targets going elsewhere! Maguire, Wilson and now Wood! Wolves a BIG club? Your havin a laugh!

9.) 13 Aug 2014
Jeez, Paul tamworth will you please stop flip-flopping between happy clapper and doom monger!!?? . just pick one and stick with it!

10.) 13 Aug 2014
I don't know why so many people are complaining about not spending money? # Paul Tamworth.
Leicester spent money every season, and never made the play offs. When FFP came into it they didn't spend and they ended up winning the league. Look at teams like Norwich and Southampton and see how much they spent the season they went up.
If anything over the last 3 years has taught us. it is - to spend wisely and have some sort of wage structure or you'll end up like Portsmouths, blackburns, boltons etc.
We currently have J.O.H, Rodger Johnson, Stephen Ward, Kevin Doyle, Doumbia, Boukari, Etc on our wage bill, even though they are not playing but still draining the money out of our club every week. This isn't 2012, Now everything we spend whether on wages or buying a player or loaning a player effects FFP, so while we have players like that on our books, we are limited to our transfer business.
We had a great season last season and momentum is with us, I don't know what more you want in terms of signings and who you would kick out the team at the minute? why you would want to change that much? and interrupt the system, without giving players a chance.
We have a great scouting system in place and the players who jackett had bought in last season, not one of them looked out of place. We are also giving our youth a chance aswell.
A year ago we couldn't buy a win. We had a squad full of players who simply didn't want to play for shirt. Jackett has came in and has completely turned things around, why not be a bit optimistic and get behind the players and manager. We bought james henry, kevin mcdonald, and jacobs for under 1 million, would you rather us of spent 5m on a j.o.h player and give him a 5 year contract? You probably would.
I think some fans just love to moan. if you want to see a club spend millions on signings and win every week, why not support chelsea, arsenal, city or someone like that! And Just to let you know Chris Wood only scored 4 goals last season and has been struggling to find form since his move, if you want us to spend how much million on him and give him prem wages, when he couldn't even get double figures in the championship with a team who were flying scoring 3-4 goals a game? then your more stupid than I thought.

11.) 13 Aug 2014
Why all the fuss over an average player? I think everyone has forgotten how crap the prem is. I'd love 2-3 seasons in the championship. If we went up this season we'd need a whole new squad because of how young the squad is. Give these guys a couple of seasons to grow and I think we'd be ready!

12.) 14 Aug 2014
Couldnt agree more with the comments from DTM and Kiddychris, our squad is very young, give them 2-3 years to grow and develop, and i'm going to put my head on the chopping board here, but in 3 years I guarantee players like Price Evans Batth so on will be premier league players, they all have the ability and technique, for now its about maturing them and allowing them to make mistakes and learn from them, the 1st game Evans was very slow on the ball, which you can't be in this division but you can in league 1, they're still learning! let them make mistakes don't go mental if we mess up in a few games this season, help our players grow support them make molineux a fortress and get behind kenny and our young lads! up the wolves! SOUTH BANK!

13.) 14 Aug 2014
Stu Corbett what a speech, agreed with every word you typed

Excellent comments from DTM, Kiddychris and StuuCorbett. At long last w have some sensible perspective on what has been achieved in 12 months, where we are now as a club AND as a squad and a reminder of how we should be 100% behind KJ and the lads. Finally, can we build a wall around Tamworth to keep certain moaning individuals locked inside?

15.) 14 Aug 2014
I see I'm on a loser here! Most on this board must be Morgans or Moxeys family members! Lack ambition for the football club!

16.) 14 Aug 2014
Dont get me wrong, I'd love us to spend millions and get promoted this year and spend more millions and finish high up in the Premier League, but the reality is we have some waste of space players draining our income on ridiculously high wages that we can't get rid of, this is hindering our chances of signing players and offering players certain wages, although we are after players KJ is right in not bringing in 5-6 players and disrupting what we have, and stunting the developments of our younger players, which I've already stated are very very good players and can only get better. Wolves fans have got to learn to be realistic which we havnt been for the past 5 or so years

17.) 14 Aug 2014
KJ has missed out on his top 3 targets! WHY? Were not talkin millions of pounds like forest have paid for the Peterborough lad who like Wilson has come from Div3! Tryin to do things on the cheap!

18.) 14 Aug 2014
Wilson overrated in my opinion not near worth 3m, plus they had a fair whack of money from selling their striker to Norwich, plus Maguire IMO wasnt worth 3m again, not better than Batth or Stears, plus went to a Premier league team in the Europa League. Wood, had a decent loan spell at Milwall where he scored 11 in 19, but other than that hasn't done much else. 1.25m good price for him, but maybe he was asking for more than 15k a week, which is probably what he's on at a team like Leicester and no doubt he had a bonus since they got promotion last season.

19.) 14 Aug 2014
Your missin my point, they were kJ's TOP 3 targets! Whatever anyone else thinks doesn't matter! The board have not backed him! That's the point I'm makin.

20.) 14 Aug 2014
How is trusting the young players coming through the academy ranks showing a lack of ambition? Surely if the management are keen for our own players to develop into first teamers then they need to back them with decent game time in a better division?

Personally I feel they're showing more ambition than when we were spending £6.5million on Doyler (for example).

21.) 14 Aug 2014
He's already scored two goals if he continues like that 3 million will have been nothing!
