Hi Rated mate what is iptv?

I'm assuming you need home internet/broadband of which I don't have.

Yeah Phil mate you'd need decent broadband, iptv is Internet Protocol television.
It's tv provided over your internet via a app or in bt/talktalks case a youview box, youview is basically Freeview but with ability to recieve internet streamed channels too.

Rated, do you happen to know if you can get tennis tournaments on iptv as well? Not remotely interested myself but my wife loves her tennis.
How does it work with a youview box, curious.
Terrific result last night sadly all I had was radio hesgoal tv I can't get a connection unfortunately. Could have done with it last night. Spent most of the last week in bed with flu like virus. Tested negative for covid apparently. Been awful. Third time in six months getting a bit sick of it I'm starting to take it personally now!

Yes Ken mate you can, keep in mind IPTV is like hesgoal so to say a very grey area.
Best bet is look around on twitter for ones offering a free trial so you can try first, I have 2 subs just incase one goes down but one I use is superb, not sure if I can mention it on here though.

Just realised you asked about youview too Ken, youview uses multicast technology to stream channels. Your normal freeview ones you get via your aerial but BT and talktalk offer streamed channels via now tv too, these are on the EPG too, so rather than use a app you can watch them as you would normal tv.
The iptv i'm on about requires a app, good internet and a android device such as a fire tv stick.
The one I use is a grey area.

Rated I'm thinking of getting another TV for when I'm downstairs in our kitchen diner. I'm sure I can make sure I can use a firestick in that. That would work internet channels only?

You can get the main 4 channel apps aka bbc,itv,channel5 and channel 5 they have live streams too, also you can get now tv, amazon prime, netflix etc.
The iptv I use app too but you need to side load it, I have the fire tv cube myself if finances allow that is the best device for streaming imo but it's £109 the sticks are around £30 but you do get alexa with the fire cube too.
What i'll do is post a screenshot of mine in sightings, for obvious reasons my iptv app wiill be hidden.

Just wanted to add that it's a grey area not least because you have no idea who you are sending your subscription money to. Most likely it is funding a criminal gang.
If you want to go down the iptv route find a free service at least.
