First post, so bare with
Back in the day I was working in the Mander Cenre as an optician. One day Steve Kindon came in, he had an appointment for an eye test.
He came out looking sheepish, he was short sighted, basically everything over 3 metres away blurs, the further away, the greater the blur.
He told me he didn't want specs as the team would take the Mick and contact lenses weren't really an option back then.
Anyone who has seen him play would understand how he played and why his eyesight dictated this.
Not a great header of the ball (he wouldn't see it that early) and would often get the ball in midfield and just run up the pich, sometimes missing that killer pass.
Lovely chap, very rapid and if he was playing today would be a star because he would wear lenses.
