Just been reading an article saying how Nuno should axe Conor Coady. Yes, I know I should not read them, but anyway it got me thinking.
Let's just remind ourselves what Coady means to our club. He's a model professional but ok, he's not the greatest defender in the world. But we've known that from day one. However, he's still pretty good at his basic job and deservedly got his England call up and did himself proud. But he's so much more to us that that. He's our captain, our leader, our organiser, a mentor, a great representative of our club and he's immensely proud to be a wolves player.
Who else could take on all that he does. Will Boly? Our best out and out defender ( even though he was also our best striker against Albion) . No way would Boly want or be able to take on that responsibility. For a big guy he's far too passive and seems happy to be told what to do and get on with it. Saiss? A midfielder with plenty of defensive experience. Again he wouldn't be capable of taking on the roll. Not at premier level any way. He's a battler and leads by example but to be at his best he has to simply focus entirely on his own job and wouldn't be capable of anymore. As for our other defenders, Jonny aside, they lack experience or basic defensive ability or both.
Coady may have had a few below par games since the Liverpool match, when I think he went out there looking a little bit cocky and paid the price. He doesn't seem to have recovered from that, but he will.
He's one player who will take a hell of a lot to replace, particularly if we now continue with a back 3/ 5. So let's all get behind the lad and the rest of the team and climb that table.
Oh, and a 3 nil win tonight.

Who's saying that? Someone who needs a few words to make up his column.? Coady is as wolves now as wolves will get. His shouting alone is worth it. If Nuno sees something wrong hell deal with it. I think it comes from the sub against them, and a lot of surprised comments as to why. Well my answer is it was tactical by nuno to get players up the left and support neto in chasing an equaliser, desperate yes, but that's what we were, and possibly will be until Jose arrives and the sick list are returning. Not forecasting yet as I'm worried as to what the team will be, chorley have said they'll make it ugly and its clear that this match and its outcome is financially essential to them. The history makes things harder but I sense a close revenge that flatters, 2-1 or 3-1 but hard earned.

I have no doubt that Conor should play tonight because he knows how important the Cup is to us the fans. This game is all about rolling up your sleeves and your heart has got to be in it. Conor has those in spades I what he does. He's the driving force and I have no doubt he'll be up for it.
Wolves will win!
