Not sure about that Rated but I see Wolves have done a deal with Chinese drinks giant Shede.

Just to put the Chinese market in perspective they are close to being a 1BN dollar turnover operation producing some of China's favourite liquors.

I wonder if everyone in the ground will get a shot before the game to dull the senses or after to celebrate, lol.

Morning Longmynd.another modest Sponsorship deal.
We are a less than £200m Club.even West Ham are at £300m!
Income from decent Sponsorship deals and Stadium development has been really poor under Shi and that creates FFP issues and restricted transfer funds.
ps
and of course the disastrous waste of money when he and Sellers controlled our transfer spending.

{Ed002's Note - Stadium development has nthing to do with FFP.}

How much do you think sponsors will pay us.

Our current deal with Astropay is worth £8m per season. West Hams is £10m per season.

West Ham have a 60k seater stadium which they got for a really good price due to the Olympic legacy.

We own our stadium outright.

And just to put it into more perspective Newcastles new deal is worth 30m even though its through the Saudi investment fund.

Sorry to say Jas, we don't own the Mol.
Council owned.though mega lease period.

Hi Editor .my clearly poorly put point about the Stadium, is bigger stadium, bigger income.
As you say, there should be no financial reason NOT to develop the Stadium!

Don’t own the land it sits on either. common knowledge

Molineux is owned by Wolverhampton Wanderers Properties. Company was set up in 1986 and bought by Sir Jack Hayward in 1990 in its entirety. The land around it is council property but the stadium itself is owned outright. This us why the development is so convoluted as to extend onto the council land needs their permission and or requirement to purchase the land at vastly inflated prices.

There was talk a few years ago of Fosun buying out the Asda as it was privately owned to expand.

Sorry Jas, don't mean to be picky, but.

WolverhamptonNewsPublished: Mar 31, 2010
Molineux's redevelopment into a 40,000-seater stadium took a leap forward today as Wolves were given a 999-year lease on the ground.

The club had asked Wolverhampton City Council for the freehold of the land to progress plans to expand the existing 29,300 capacity, with a hotel and conference centre among the options.

The council did not want to grant the freehold in order to ensure there must always be a football pitch at Molineux."

Unless things have changed since that time.

I've not visited other top level stadiums for years so it's hard to draw comparisons. However, I've just done the Molineux stadium and museum tour and I must admit to feeling a bit underwhelmed. Not the museum, that was fine, but the stadium itself is just too small and in need of expansion.

Most top clubs have 50k capacities and as a one club city so should we. Investment in players has to be funded by the club itself to satisfy ffp but the one place the owners can truly invest is in the facilities, fixed assets if you prefer.

For me this is a vital part in growing the club, larger crowds, more merchandising, it has to start at home. Growth in overseas markets can only really be achieved via success at home and in Europe not just through the purchase of overseas players. I was told we are now massive in Korea, but has our presence wained in Mexico and so on.

To be fair, I've always believed the Sir Jack built stadium was too small, no disrespect to him, he rescued the club and put 73 million of his own cash into it, but that was then, this is now.

So come on Fosun, get the builders in and rekindle that original ambition for a new stadium, we need it.

I think the ground redevelopment is now becoming a more pressing issue. Revenues need to increase to help with FFP and this is a way to achieve it. If done correctly the club could do more community initiatives to get young fans into the ground each week at affordable prices and over time have them buying merchandise and converting to season ticket holders.

We know the cost to build has gone up and there would be reduced capacity. Although controversial, if the owners would put the money in I'd support doing it all at once and leaving Molineux for a year or two whilst the work was done. Short term pain for long term gain.

Disappointed you were a bit underwhelmed with the stadium tour longmynd didn't see that coming to he honest.
Have my fingers crossed our team does better this coming season so you guys frustrated with the way our owners run our club will be out of your minds.
All it takes is our team to start doing well then all the constant negativity and disdain towards our club will disappear.

I'm inclined to agree Alex, the problem is where to go, the only option I can think of is the Alexandra Stadium Perry Barr. It had a bit of a face-lift for the games but not sure how much work would be needed to come up to a prem category stadium.

Not disappointed with the tour Phil that was very good, nor do I have any disdain towards the club I've supported since 1966, just the fact that we are a one club city with a 32K stadium, especially when there are so many of us that would like a ticket but seemingly can't or have to earn the right to get one.

It just seems to be a lost opportunity to me, people willing to buy your product but the club apparently not wanting the business. How can we become a 'big club' again without a 'big stadium'? It doesn't make sense to me. How does a medium size club like West ham fill a 50K stadium some distance from their old one? In many cases it's because of the stadium itself attracts the fans, even new fans, it's all income at the end of the day

Apologies longmynd just the constant posts about shi sellars our stadium all too much of a downer which I saw in your own words "a bit underwhelmed" on your tour.
Glad I got it wrong and you enjoyed your tour.
But my meaning of disdain to our club is the constant posts of frustration aimed at our club of which you join in with.
I know we all love the wolves.
I see you maybe in the new season.
Only when we are winning competing playing well, leave all the know what's best when we aren't winning alone.

No apology necessary Phil, agreeing or disagreeing with decisions made by people charged with the management of the club is our perogative as fans.

I said three years ago that Shi promoting Sellars was a mistake and I said many years ago that the rebuilt Molineux was most welcome but would probably prove to be too small and I stand by those comments. Last season was the culmination of Sellars decision making and the 10-15K season ticket waiting list alone shows that the ground needs to be bigger, the fans are there waiting.

Would be great to see the ground developed, but if they put in an extra 20,000 seats it's only £17 million in extra ticket sales per year, based on £45 per game. Money is generated away from the gate receipts these days. We need better commercial managers to realise our potential for global growth.

That's all true Camo but my point was if Wolves expect to attract those international sponsorships, imo, they need to package themselves as a big club with a local and international fan base sufficient to warrant a 50K seater stadium.

It's all part of the package, success on the pitch with facilities to match, it just 'ups' the appeal.
