The main problem we're looking at, is a possible repeat of nearly a year ago.
A massive influx of players from the Mendes stable. Who either can't play together, or aren't good enough for the championship.
Then the club appoints a head coach, again a Mendes boy, with no experience of this league or this country.

Not saying I agree with what's happening as still undecided about Mendes, Lambert and Fosun. But I don't think we can judge Mendes' ability to provide us with good quality signings based on what was a rushed job last summer.

He just had to get volume in last year. Think would be an improved offering this summer with time to choose quality and not just quantity.

Whatever happens, it will be an interesting summer again!

Thing is people need to stop comparing what's going on now to last summer.

Facts from last summer
Takeover delayed, delay caused us to lose the manager theyd got prepared to take over in Lopetegui to the spain job, delay also most likely caused us to lose out on targets fosun had earmarked. We had 34 days before the close of the transfer window and a threadbare squad. People talk about Mendes's influence etc but without his influence last summer we would have been in a far worse situation in terms of having a squad with even less quality and a lot less players. We panicked because of how little time we had to work with. Saying Fosun haven't learned because of what's going on now would be naive. The championship hasn't even concluded for this season yet still the play-offs to play. Transfer window doesn't open till july and pre season is nowhere near upon us, i'd say if they have doubts on Lambert now is the perfect time to get rid with plenty of time to get the right man at the helm for the start of the window and pre season.

Also people say about managers with no experience of this league? Zerngas problem wasn't this leagues experience it was his managerial pedigree full stop. Talk about experience, look at the top 6 apart from Hughton at Brighton not much championship experience there!

Before this season

Rafa- None
Stam- None
Carvalho- less then a full season at sheffield
Wagner- Few months back end of the prior season
Jokanovic- 1 season with Watford (which he got promoted)

Exeperience isn't always neccesary if the managers good enough.

How has it come to this?
Whatever is going on, it has been handled badly.
The darkness is closing in on us again.

Sbrek.
Well said.
Anyone worried about next season should stop worrying.

Sbrek, yes, let's look at his influence last year.
He brought in, or advised on bringing in, 13 players.
Of the thirteen, Eleven were pretty much rubbish.

Think about it. That's an ENTIRE TEAM of players who were no good.

Sbrek has it spot on, I don't think the players brought in last summer were as bad as people make out. A lot of them were just threw into the championship and hadn't got a pre season together.
Costa - Brilliant
Cavaliero - When fit, very good and could be as good as Costa
Saiss - shows promise. Should be better next season
Oniangue - looked decent, better than Saville and Evans, could be a good championship player
Bodvarrsson - not had the luck, can't fault effort, probably not quite good enough
Stearman - not a bad back up
Borthwick Jackson - looked very good for united, bad attitude at wolves, don't think you can judge that before signing him.

Lowwolf, I'm interested to know who your 13 players your referring to are? As not all were Mendes influenced or advised?

Mendes players advised in:
Costa
Cavaliero
Texieria
Borthwick-jackson
Silvio
Ola John

Thelwell and other scouting resource influenced
Saiss
Bodvarsson
Lonergan
Prince
Gladon
Stearman

Not all of our signings were Mendes influenced and in fact the majority of the players he had an influence in were loan deals?

Loan or signing, the majority were very poor.

SO, you're more than happy to let an agent fill our club with HIS players? Irrespective of whether the head coach wants them? Even if they don't fit into his plans or tactics.

Lowwolf I think your missing the point of what my actual paragraph was about, it was purely we shouldn't panic at getting rid of Lambert and that although how bad this season was things could have been a hell of a lot worse then how it ended up giving the proceedings of how things happened last summer with how late the takeover was! I was also just stating that as much as people don't want to look at the facts without Mendes's input last season we would pretty much have been surefire candidates for league one in the 17/ 18 season. The two who I'm assuming out of last seasons signings you class as non being rubbish cavaliero and costa were both Mendes players and were petty much our saving grace. Also as StuCorbett has rightly pointed out our signings weren't as bad as they're being made out. Players like Saville and batth etc who were problems in our season last season were very much already part of the club. As regards your question about Mendes I think we would be silly not to utilise his contacts and power in the game but also I would like to point out he hasn't filled out clubs by all means! Out of the 6 players he influenced in bringing to the club only 2 will actually be contracted to the club come next season due to the others being loans or Silvios case a years contact, incidentally the 2 players left will be the only 2 players you class as being good enough for our team?
