Just been told the Oilslick IS staying and so is Saunders, to get the Fans back on side they are bringing in a DOF, job to be advertised next week. P. J.

Saunders's record
Wrexham p155 w64 d44 l47
Doncaster p73 w 26 d18 l29
Wolves p20 w5 d5 l10
Over 3 clubs 38% success rate.
Would you trust a man with this record to achieve anything? If we had been playing a style of football that was pleasing to etch, but losing narrowly, fair enough. But I have seen nothing to give me any confidence in the man

How will that help?

If that's true Jez needs to take another pay cut not decide what happens with players and managers etc. they might be keeping him as he is Steves puppet and he can keep the balance books tight which we will need in league 1. Ill be annoyed if we stick with Saunders though we need a new and better style if football that sets us apart and takes us back to the prem on time

Deano has to go! Fans have no faith in him! Even Morgan must realise that! Paul Tamworth

Great news dean Saunders sacked.

Will come out in a few hours.

It would seem that as of 9am this morning Dean Saunders and his backroom staff have gone.
Must say I am surprised as I thought Morgan would keep him on and let him build a team that he could work with rather than players bought in by other Managers. let's hope that this time as the board as well as football guys at the Wolves are making a decision that we get the RIGHT man for the job.
Oh, and let's hope we hear soon of a player exodus because if we are stuck with the lot that played this year we are looking Div 2 candidates!

He simply must go. The single worst thing to ever happen to the club. Win% in Championship is 22%. Utter moron.

Well done Morgan! Paul Tamworth

Nothing against Deano, but he should never have got the job in the 1st place. Right decision to get rid. Now bring in a DoF and a decent manager who will get the team to play football and start winning. Back to back promotions must be our key objective.

Media Wolf

Agree with Media Wolf. Actually I think DS will ultimately do OK but he's not the kind of guy that this team of egos needs just now.

The tv guy said that too many Wolves players are overpaid - mentioned something about sports cars in the car park. These guys all need to be sold and proven fighters brought in.

13:13 still no announcement about Saunders and Moxey getting the boot. Come on Morgan grow a pair. We need a Director of Football and a manager who plays football on the deck. Ian H

Fickle fans to blame for our sad demise and morgan for listening to them! STEVE BRUCE WOULD HAVE GOT US BACK IN THE PREM!

Can we put an end to this urban myth about the fans changing Morgan's mind about Bruce? When did Morgan ever listen to the fans? The club has said Bruce was NEVER offered the job. He wanted to bring a whole entourage of back room staff with him, and Moxey, rightly or wrongly, wouldn't pay the high wages. Does anyone know any fans, or fans campaign, that contacted Morgan to complain about Bruce being appointed? No, nor me.

No glen poor uncommitted footballers got us relegated - don't like Deano's footballing style and don't think he's the man for the job but having players who want to prove themselves and play for the club is key to the onwards and upwards future - not money grabbing o'hara's and johnsons

Steve Bruce turned the job down- his choice

Glen mate the cost of him coming and what he wanted to do was far too high for Morgan and Moxey to stomach. It had nothing to do with a fans re
bellion that is just a tabloid myth

Yeh and brought us straight back down hull were one if the worst teams I watched this year they will come back down straight away. Steve Bruce is to similar to mick league 1 cut the squad and start again be brave and find a good new manger look at poyet de Canio both started in league one and are both doing superb we need to find a manager like them like Rodgers lambert use are youth and work back what's the point in going backwards with managers like mick and Steve who play hoof football yes we probably wouldn't be in league 1 but we'd still have a dreadful team and watch useless football. No matter what league were in ill support my team and ill be happy if we play good football using are good youth players much happier tha watching smash and run

Maybe Bruce was not offered the job, or perhaps he was but turned it down, but, either way, it's irrelevant as far as Glen's primary point is concerned. He is simply stating the obvious, that the fans have to share at least some of the blame for the team sinking like a stone for the second time in the last 25 years. Only a deluded person could deny that a vociferous section of the fans have shamefully undermined the players and three managers over the last two seasons, both by barracking at matches, week in week out and relentlessly knocking the players, managers and chairman in this forum. OK, so it's only a minority of the fans - and everyone on this site will hotly deny it applies to them - but the impact has been corrosive as far as the confidence, form and motivation of the players is concerned. Such a pity we can't transfer the knockers to Ipswich along with Doyle and Ward - it would be worth at least 20 points next season.

Saunders to meet with Leigh Griffiths this week to discuss his future. Thought this was done and he was coming back?

Can't see him ever coming back tbh and not sure i'd want him. His heart is with Hibs- time they finally came up with the money.

I agree, what kind of fee would we command for him though? Every team up there is skint other than celtic so they wouldn't pay anything substantial.

Big story is thatTony Mowbray at Boro is going to offer £1.5 million for him this week

Hibs can't afford him. Yes, only Celtic in Scotland can come up with the right cash, and LG probably won't agree to sign for another English club. So it's another season on loan or he plays at the Mol.

Had to have a laugh at this 1.5m fee for Leigh, he's a good player, playing in a dead and buried league. He does carry some baggage too. He's worth 200k tops considering he is in the last year of his contract (if the extra year clause is activated by wolves) and as Saunders said, you have Atleast 3 strikers that are better. I do believe he could be useful in the league you are in next season though!
