Just a few things I've heard recently regarding Wolves.

Talks are underway with both Stearman and Edwards. Edwards has been offered a one year extension, Stearman two years. However, both would be taking a wage drop to re-sign, and in Stearman's case in particular, there are other parties interested.

Wolves are already planning to recruit too. As well as Harry Maguire, Wolves are also interested in Jordan Spence, who has been released by West Ham. He spent most of the season on loan at MK Dons.

There has been a bid of around 400k made for Liverpool midfielder Conor Coady, but Liverpool are seeking a much higher fee if they are to sell, so there is some way to go with that one.

Wolves were also monitoring Federico Macheda, but with him likely to join Cardiff, attention has now turned to Leicester's Chris Wood.

1.) If we sign Harry Maguirre I don't think he will get stearman to sign . and I really hope we get chris wood the best striker we can get

2.) Heard Liverpool have accepted an offer of 950k for Connor Coady from Sheffield United so looks like that's a no goer. Don't mind too much as I doubt he would have been in our starting line up. Harry Maguire also signing a new two year deal with Sheffield United so sounds like we'll have to go for Stearman who, in my opinion would be a much better option at this level

3.) Doubt Sheff it'd have the funds for Cody who has stated in Liverpool echo wants to play in higher league next season

{Ed001's Note - they have the money, or at least their owner does, but it is true that Coady would prefer to play at a higher level next season if possible.}

4.) Maguire would be a great signing! On the other hand I think Coady would be a great signing too however we need at least one player, if not more, with championship or premier league experience, if we want to be in the premier league again one day, For example someone like Chris Woods

5.) This is what I was saying. I think Maguire is a good league 1 defender but don't think he would be able to step up. Watching him in the fa cup against Hull he was getting completely rinsed by Hulls reserve strikers. That's why I'd prefer Stearman who we know can do a job at this level.

6.) Maguire is a cart horse, we need pace in middle of defence

From what I can gather from speaking to a few sources this week, I don't think Wolves are in a hurry to complete any signings, and it will be a case of "quality over quantity" this summer. If the right deal for the right player is an option, then of course they'll be interested, but a lot of signings this time of the year are signings for signings sake, made by clubs who have had a bad season and trying to draw a line under it, or by clubs who will/have released a lot of players, so the replenishing of players needs to start quickly.

1.) Local press say that crawley want clarke on a season loan, Swansea wolffffffffffff

2.) 02 Jun 2014 13:41:13
Opportunistic by Crawley, but I don't think he'll get games at Wolves and a deal could be attractive to all parties.

3.) But you would wonder what the value in that move would be? Crawley? Not exactly awash with £s. Surely better options exist.

At the time when we got him, it seemed like Clarke was a good covering option with Doyle, Griffiths, etc going. But following the Gillingham "result" we hit the afterburners and Clarke, coupled with a few injuries (v Arsenal even before we bought him) didn't really get a look in.

Sako, Dicko, Henry and Jacobs scored 40 goals between them, throw in Edwards and it's closer to 50. Bit of a head scratcher for KJ - does Clarke fit this system? If not and we can get better then let's do it. But does a loan (to Crawley, or indeed anyone, apart from Sheff U) really make sense at this time? wolfshead.

4.) Crawley are actually rich for league 1

WILKO

5.) If they're so rich why don't they fix the beach they play on?

6.) Maybe mega-rich now that they've left half their squad go, but £750k-rich for one player? We can and should be doing better for club and player. Tricky one nonetheless, WILKO. Of all the signings which KJ made that was the one to bring the sceptics out the most. wolfshead.
