21 Feb 2012 20:46:33
Think Jeff Stelling should be the next Wolves manager, seeing as he thinks he knows it all

21 Feb 2012 20:39:39
I've read all through these rumours and it is surprising how many people are admamant that they know who is coming in - fact! Has anyone at any point heard from Moxey/Morgan themselves that these deals are on or off? No, I thought not. Everyone is so keen to second guess. We should all know by now that Moxey plays his cards very close to his very ample chest and I hardly think he is going to impart knowledge to Molineux staff, cleaners, drivers etc ahead of Sky Sports News etc. Even when pressed at the weekend he refused to be drawn on the situation. Therefore, everyone needs to sit and wait instead of drumming up extra money for the bookies. We will all know when they want us to know and not before. To be fair we won't have a lot of say in the matter (unless they have taken on board all the anti-Bruce feelings on here.) Given that the early bird offer is currently in place they will want it solved sooner rather than later.

I for one would have been amazed if Wolves had replaced Mick in a prompt and trouble free manner - we don't work that way and never will! Good luck to whoever comes in and let's hope he walks on water!

I agree. It's exactly what Jez said to my mate as he was cleaning the windows.

Jez was cleaning windows?

That's the whole point of a rumors site

Yes rumours but not fairytales and supposition!

21 Feb 2012 20:33:08
It's amazing how unsure the bookies and everyone is. Had a £25 bet on Poyet yesterday and he automatically went from 16/1 to 10/1. Granted, I'm sure other people were backing it as well. But just goes to show that there are still no clear indications on who the new boss will be as its seems every 10 minutes there is a new favourite and at least one market mover. Its tense all this speculation, but hope it will end soon

Breaking News ON WM J ust said Wolves offered Curbs 2 1/2 year deal ,but he wanted only 13 games so he could walk away if we went down.Better of without him !!

Smart money's still on Curbs. He wants it!

I want the job... I have pride n passion.. That's what curbs said to me when he called me at lunchtime..... It's true I swear pinky promise .......

Curbs is 3/1 some bookmakers have him as low as 5/2 and 2/1

21 Feb 2012 18:23:48
Steve Coppell anyone? He's available and has plenty of experience. Can't believe he's not being considered. {Ed001's Note - thought he retired?}

21 Feb 2012 17:40:04
if clipboard is in charge saturday there will he still be using the trusty clipboard or will he pass it down

Henry's got his name on the clipboard mate!

Leaving him in charge is a waste of a precious game well done the two Ms !

21 Feb 2012 17:10:16
Just in Wolves have confirmed Jez Moxey has in fact ate all the pancakes and sugar leaving only lemon juice for the incoming manager.
Gibo

Lol mate.

The F C has got them on the half time menu next season for a tenner a pop!

Ate all the pancakes? - said he was a 'tosser.'

2. a good manager
3. a manager
4. a man!

21 Feb 2012 15:36:12
Why is everyone slagging McDermott off n he hasnt even got the job yet n Rodgers lambert Houghton pulis have all come from championship and are doing well n I bet all wolves fans would have any of em just fickle fans he must be doing something right if reading are 3rd n a few points off automatic {Ed001's Note - Moyes is another good example of a manager who came up from the Championship.}

Lets face it! as usual its just a shambles!

Yes you are so right shambles from mr spin and mr morgan i have red and white blood

If you dont like morgan lump it go n support walsall or kiddy or baggies he's our chairman while i dont agree on a lot of things like the timing of this sacking n the fact that he hasnt got a replacement already lined up he's keeping us in the black safe n sound least he anit no russian or from the UAE where they would dump us in a 2nd n leave us with massive money troubles n end up like wimbldon out of buissiness n having to change our name or like rangers or portsmouth

How do you know he will not if liverpool call

I doubt that if they turned him down before

21 Feb 2012 14:50:02
Click agree if you'd like Poyet and Wilkins.

Please sounds very good might get to watch some proper football at last

Can you see the two pratts being that forward if it cheap go for it thats the way they think

21 Feb 2012 13:29:43
My problem with the likes of Poyet and Mcdermot are they are good championship managers. People keep telling me MM was a good championship manager.
We can't take a chance that they might be up and coming, they might not! Clark fall into that bracket aswell.
Experience needed. Wilkins or Keegan for me.

Look, Wilkins and/or Keegan can't keep us up any better than Connor. It's down to the players now. Evev Craddock+Henry could get the best out of the players for 13 games. So we need to look to the longer term, whatever league we're in. The table suggests a 3/5 chance that'll be the Championship so why not Clarke/Poyet/McDermott? Just have to make sure we don't hang on to them if results start going against us after promotion. Sunderland ditched Bruce now they're 8th.

So with 39 points to play for you are saying lets look to the future that may start in the championship. Ask Sheff Utd, Leeds, Sheff Wed, Burnley, C.Palace, Barnsley,Pompey the list goes on about getting back in the prem. They would confirm what we knew for 19 years, it's bloody hard to get back. We must stay up, end of.

The words Conner, Keegan and Wilkins should never ever be used in the same sentence. The only comparison is, no there isn't one.

21 Feb 2012 13:01:55
If we get McDermott, I think T.C will stay

21 Feb 2012 12:15:38
Why all the fuss about Lee Clark, he did manage to get results but much in the same way Mick did, by outscoring the other team. Defense was never that great though and he did have a top goal scorer to help his cause!!

21 Feb 2012 12:02:36
Ray Wilkins good calibre name probably as director of football

21 Feb 2012 11:49:19
Wilkins wants in now so tc taking charge for Newcastle what about Michael laudrup might seem way out there

21 Feb 2012 11:38:39
Seems to me that there are 4 in the running- Lee Clark, Steve Bruce, Gus Poyet & Brian McDermott. Who do you want to see from these?

Poyet Wilkins would be amazing in my view, we would get the ball down and play football get some respect from other teams in this league

Vidosiclover33

McDermott- not convinced he has enough experience or could attract the right level of player should be stay up. Also, with Reading gaining alot of investment, would he want to leave that project.
Bruce- We have all seen how much the fans dislike the idea and the bored would be stupid to appoint him.
Poyet- Plays good football, possibility of Wilkins joining him and I believe the best of the candidates for attracting players.
Clark- Young manager with new ideas, a lack of PL experience but knows how to set a team up to win games, as well as a backroom staff who have been there and done it.

Has to be Clark or Poyet for me

From what's out there I'd have to agree with Clark or Poyet. If Wilkins has shown an interest and wouldn't mind teaming up with one of these then he must be brought in.

I totally agree with the comment above: Poyet and Wilkins would revolutionise our style and bring the fun back to watching the Wolves.

21 Feb 2012 10:20:41
If it is poyet then must bring wilkins as well need premier league experience!

Poyet and McDermott not in the running cited by TALKSPORT

Check the talksport website. They aren't the only names on the list

Who said that they are out of the running? Keane/Wilkins poyet/Wilkins please :)

I'm not talking about the website i am quoting the broadcaster who clearly stated that poyet and mccdermott are not in the running for the wolves job. end of-fact!

Erm, the clip is on the website? Fact

21 Feb 2012 10:16:01
Talk sport interview this morning ask if Ray Wilkins was interested, he said "It would be very pleasant".
If you look at Chelsea slide, its pretty evident that Wilkins made the difference there. If you then look at our team, we have the right attitude, commitment, but lack in ideas and skill, something that Wilkins has in abundance!

Wilkins may not be the perfect manager for every team, right now our team needs confidence, an arm around the shoulder and new ideas to bring the results!

He is the man, give it him until the end of the season and as a proven coach would work with the suggested director of football idea being banded around?

So should we send him for a DNA test then?

21 Feb 2012 09:41:44
Greg Halford Player of year at Portsmouth !!
???
Uh
eh??
what??
wonder what MM thinks of that?

... that Greg Halford found his level in the Championship??

But with us he looked like a league 1 player...mmm

21 Feb 2012 08:48:01

An interesting change in direction.

Originally, Morgan and Moxey wanted a manager who was out of work - one of the reasons being was to avoid paying compensation and to avoid any accusations of poaching a manager. Hence Warnock, Curbs and Bruce being top of their list.

The others on the list were Ince, Strachan, Reid, O'Leary, Graham and Souness. Lee Clark joined that list when he left Huddersfield

Now Wolves have broadened the search and will look at Poyet, McDermott and apparently Lambert from Norwich.

Poyet appears to be favourite but it really is too early to say because interviews will be critical in whether or not the manager likes what Wolves have to say and whether or not Morgan/Moxey are impressed.

The 13-game temporary position is bound to put people off, so is the limited transfer budget in the summer and so is the plan to appoint a Director of Football in time for next season.

A good analysis of the shifting sands. A few things come to mind.

Firstly Steve Morgan isn't averse to changing his mind when Plan A doesn't look like working.

Secondly he's resisted the knee-jerk reaction of appointing for the sake of it - otherwise Bruce would have his slippers under the table by now.

Thirdly he's looking long-term as Poyet, Lambert, and McDermott have all succeeded on meagre resources. The lack of a big transfer budget won't phase any of them. What may put them off is the spectre in your final paragraph that probably did for Curbishley. For a Director of Football post to work there has to be real chemistry with the manager/coach - just look at the havoc Comolli caused at Spurs as Director of Football. It's a brave man who'll commit himself to a job when in 3 months time he'll have to share the power with an as yet unknown third person. This could prove the real showstopper for the talented and ambitious.

There'll be a few more twists and turns before the fat lady sings............

By and large agree and it makes me wonder if we really do want a manager. We may yet get one despite ourselves. Then again TC as Director of Football now that would be the ultimate twist in this, well, what is turning out to be a saga of Nordic proportions. Talking of which, any news of ...

Sven's our man. He's got a proven record in the Prem, better than Curbs and Brucey. He's not done himself any favours in the lower leagues but the 2M's like him. Put your money on him. Ex-England aswell - you know how we like an ex-England manager. Clarke as No. 2 maybe?
