Typical, anyone remember george friend? currently at middlesborough and now linked with west brom, stoke and west ham! another player i feel who never got a crack at wolves and now proving himself to be a good player! LB aswell,, isnt that something we've been needing but instead we decided to play a striker at left back when he was at the club!

Under Mick there were too many players of similar ability so Friend, Hill, Vokes, Surman and others never got a chance. Yes, some have come good since then.

SteveBullStand - Why does everyone. Want to get rid of Doyle for? he has got championship expirence and he the hardest working player wolves have got, wolves players should be looking up to him and should put the effort he does . He just lacking in confidence

Great player probably the best we have at the mo! 100% effort every game!

Counts for nothing when he's taking up a strikers spot and dosnt score goals, nor creating any. I could get on the pitch for 90 minutes and run my head off and chase everything, dosnt make me an assett. We are losing games and more worryingly not scoring. he's hardly contributing to keeping any out so tell me, Why wouldn't I swap him for a 75% er goal scorer.

Lacking in confidence for the last 3 seasons then??

How long has he been at the club & how many goals has he scored? Never mind experience he just hasnt done enough! Time to freshen up our front line guys!!!!! EBW

I see we have missed out on the exciting dutch lad who has been training with us as a result of a paltry £1M bid. I read in the summer that Man City got £60M for winning the premier title and that "even Wolves got in xs of £35M for finishing bottom" - add this to the monies for Fletcher, Jarvis and Kites and we are looking at something around £50M + - something is very off here. I am fed up with being a financially stable club and would prefer to be a successful club who are putting some investment in. Barry

Now that QPR are doing a lot of business in the Jan sales. Would really like a move for Jamie Mackie, and along with Frimpong to add some real class to the midfield.

Any news on jeroen lumu that willian ii player at 17

Yep he aint cumin we won't pay the fee. WFE

Wolves didn't make a high enough bid for him... Doubt we will go any higher either

I am not sure that is the case. DS and his team will have put their valuation on this player and that is the figure the club will work to, not the selling clubs one. Its no good paying big money for a 17 year old who may become brilliant or might fade and not make the grade.

Sometimes you have to take chances and we never seem to. I say pay the million. At the end of the day what is a million in football today look how much man u, chelsea etc have spent on youth. Ill bet good money that if anyone stumps up the million he ends up being class and it will be one of those why didn't we buy him cliches again!!

TDW

I can see your point of view but I still think we should decide how much we will pay.
George friend never given a chance alongside surman and the rest. This is going to be a right mess to sort out.

7 players going out in Jan, NONE coming IN, Moxey wants wage bill cut and said we have more than enough at the club to move up the Table. Oh what a Surpise. WFE

Moxey needs to take his face for a................ What does he know about football? clearly nothing, if the group we have were good enough to push up the table why are we not up there? surely the blame can't all fall on Solbakken.

the more this transfer window goes on the more upset i get every new manager that enters a new club (even clubs with title winning squads of which we certainly arnt)has as need to bring in his own staff ie mick at skint ipswich, we are now half way through the transfer window with no sign of any signing an best part of up to £40 sitting in bank earning interest.let the under achievers go for a reasonable figure ie not £1.8 for Stearman and start to rebuild .I think i am voting with my feet i am sick of being told these players are good enough when they are not as proven last year.If a miracle did happen and we went up do you think we would sign 11 players i don't think so we would be down with lowest points ever so shift this rabble and get new faces who have a least potential to stay in premiership or by the end of season a lot more people will be feeling like me 1

How do you shift players on contracts if no-one will buy them. The only way is pay the contract up and then pay for for new players. the cost would be enormous. This is MM's mess. Too many average players on larger salary's. DS has said two years to sort out which is more or less what Stale stated, at least Stale brought in quality.

The way i see it is, you cut your losses and sell to the highest bidder or pay them wages that they are not earning for the rest of their contracts whilst their value depreciates even more. Which cans the idea of selling for in this case £1.8M and loosing even more money that you could use elsewhere. Short term loss could equal long term gain. For example, Chelsea bought Torres for £50M. Is he worth that now? no. So lets say they want to sell him and buy Falcao with the money. Do they sit there and say we bought him for £50M so we want £50m back? No they sell to the team that are willing to pay the most for him and trust me there is always someone who will buy its just finding them.

15 Jan 2013 17:27:49
how come we've managed to sign an astonishing 48 pros poor old deano has got to sort this mess out can't get my head round it 48 with hardly any quality if he trims it down to say 25 that's 23 with at a guess an average wage of 4000 pw which with simple maths gives us a saving of 368000 per month who said our club was well run ! which gives us 4 .5 mill per year

Its left over from MM. At the start of our last season in the Prem he hardly moved any on. He signed players and didn't play them and those contracts expire between this summer and next. Just remember he put Ward, Foley and others on 4 year deals. We accumulated a squad rich in quantity and totally lacking in lacking in quality.

Blame useless Mick for most of it

Because the squad number is exaggerated that is why.
Take away the youth players that are listed, then take away the injured players and then take away the players not wanted and you will find a much more realistic number.

In another 50 years time some folks on here will STILL be blaming McCarthy for doing what he thought was right! We'll see how he gets on at Ipswich next season and I really hope he'll prove all you back stabbers wrong and get them up too.

Give the guy a break, for the sake of all of us that appreciated how far he brought the club and what he achieved.

3 Prem clubs after Goerge Freind, oops another one kicked out without a chance by Mental Mick, and we are in dire need of a good left back. UTW

Saw that rumour earlier and made me think that our problem left sided defence would be well served by those we've let go without giving them a chance. What price now for George Friend and Charlie Mulgrew. Makes me worry about present crop of youngsters that we appear reticent to 'give a chance'. Haunted already this season by past players although worry more about those whom we moved out without ever playing.

All jokes aside. Solbakken would have made a good director of football/scout, even if he wasn't the best manager!

15 Jan 2013 14:10:29
Now Solbakken has gone after outstaying his welcome! Fair enough he was rubbish and the football was worse! He had enough time to get the quality in and the dead wood out (6 months)!! Now Saunders tells us its going to take him 2 years to sort the squad out! What a cheek, "2 YEARS!" I bet you this, there will be more of Solbakken's signings in the starting line up before the end of the season than either of McCarthy or Saunders signings and you will all be cheering them on and saying what a great manager Saunders is! I can't wait to see who he brings in maybe then you will all realise Saunders couldn't pick his own nose!

You do not realise what could have happened at Molineux in the long term, we will never know but I would have taken my chances with Solbakken for at least another year! He would have had us playing great stuff if he'd been backed in the summer and given the chance to get rid of the huff and puff limited players that put a shift in! But no the Veruca Salts of this world aka Paul Tamworth "wanted it and wanted it now!"

I won't pay good money to watch what was dished up on Friday evening! Once we've got a good forward thinking manager in who has the ability to get us playing technically good stuff and who isn't going to BS us with what he thinks we want to hear dressing it up by mentioning Bully then Morgan can have some of my hard earned cash again! Until then I will watch out for the results and watch live games on TV!

Enjoy the excitement of Route One Hoof Ball! {Ed011's Note - It should take two years to get rid of 15 players mate, we can't sell nearly half the squad in a month, who will buy them? Who will we replace key players with.

You won't be missed, don't need your kind at the MOL. UTW

Agree, what a load of old tosh- go and stand in the corner and give yourself a good talking to.
By the way WELL DONE the SOUTH BANK for last friday you are the true supporters. (Glosman)

Good post son!! Should of added your name, spot on as far as im concerned. Only part not for me was not attending games? I love going mol so I agree with rest but hey ho give saunders a chance an stay strong

I agree we should have given solbaken more time.the three signings i have seen play, sako, pesko, sigurdsen, have skill, pace, and the potential to be very good assets. But he has gone and we are where we are.Ienjoyed the match friday, and felt the football was of a decent standard.I am reserving my judgement on saunders, till I see what signings saunders brings in, he will not be able to make wholesale changes at one window, and must be given a couple of windows before we can judge, something which solbaken did not have the luxury of having.

You won't pay to watch the way we play under Saunders but were happy to pay to watch us under Solbakken? Maybe we won't play total football under Saunders but stale's football was the most boring I have seen for a while. At least under Saunders we actually have a few attepts at goal!

Has anyone put a bid in for Karl" Brown Noser " Henry, the guy is a disgrace, if he gets any closer to the manager I think his head might disappear where the sun don't shine...pity he wasn't showing such enthusiasm 3or4 weeks ago.

He's poison buddy get rid NOW. P.J.
