Going to be a few Premier League strikers dropping down pecking order at their respective teams in January. Some will see that impacting negatively on their World Cup chances and will want game time. We would be in a good position to cherry pick the best of these on loan. Will also be some good young prospects finding their sub roles being replaced by U23 games. Two such players on show at Goodison tonight: are Lookman and Sandro Ramirez likely to feature for Everton after Sam has made his January signings.
Think some of these players would be better loan options than some of the names we have been linked with to date.

Hmm Scottish wolf.
It’s all about attitude and application though.
We have brought names that were supposed to be good both experienced and established players for their previous clubs and also up and coming players that have failed over the years. I trust Nuno and his team to come up with a couple of interesting acquisitions.
No one expected Neves, Jota, Cav, Saiss, Douglas, coady, boly, Doherty, Bennett and ruddy to play like they have been.

2.) 19 Dec 2017 13:45:58
So what's wrong with Bonatini?

3.) 21 Dec 2017 20:13:18
LikeBonatini but he's running on empty
He needs a rest
January is massive cf cm of Quality will see us over the line
Locadia injured and out of the frame.
Dwight Gayle would be a par signing.
In Nuno we trust.

4.) 24 Dec 2017 08:26:43
After reaching the halfway point in the season I'm not against Wolves cherry picking the top players from the Championship.

What about?
Hugill/ Grabben - ST
Fredericks - RB.

5.) 29 Dec 2017 12:01:17
Anyone for Locida. We where about to sign him on transfer deadline day but PSV d the plug last minute. Since then he's scored 9 and assisted 2.

18 Jul 2017 20:28:12
Query: Has Jordan Allan joined Elgin City on loan or has he been released. Had some injury problems but was scoring regularly for U18 team at end of last season.

scottish wolf

1.) 18 Jul 2017 20:50:18
I think he's still with us.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 22:08:57
Still with us, there are 2 Jordan Allans.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 22:52:58
The Jordan Allan at Elgin is 22 years old. Ours has just turned 18.

4.) 18 Jul 2017 23:07:13
Pedrinho goncalves has signed also boubacar hanne 18 yr old both go in the u23s with Scott sellers.

I would expect any new entrants will only come from the Mendes stable.

2.) 20 Dec 2017 07:37:04
Aboubakar only striker that ticks all box's for me. looks fantastic we get him I will be over the moon.

17 Sep 2017 16:47:12
Free man in the back three, is a really key position in the way NES sets up his team. Coady has filled the position brilliantly and been given a lot of game time pre-season and in the season to date, in order to grow into the position. Who else, other than Saiss could play that role? Saiss has been pivotal to our success to date playing as one of the two defensive Central midfielders so would not particularly want to move him. likely to be a completely different starting eleven against Bristol Rovers, so will be interesting to see who is given that role. Any suggestions?

scottish wolf

1.) 17 Sep 2017 18:04:50
Probably Ryan Bennett.

2.) 17 Sep 2017 18:29:22
I actually think we will be better away from home all season, we are excellent at hitting teams on the break with the likes of cav Jota Costa etc, and a quick passing game. at home teams will come to frustrate us like Millwall, in fact even Bristol rovers may be tricky, I wood like to see botatini play ins front two now and again to give us that other option.

3.) 18 Sep 2017 08:00:22
Completely new starting 11 against Rovers expect Bright Price Zyro Bennett MGW Norris Marshall Ronan to feature.

4.) 18 Sep 2017 15:27:54
MGW injured I think. Not even sure we have 22 fit players, or rather 20 fit outfield players. Deslandes will probably play and likely Wilson will be on the bench at least. Might even start up front, as we don't have a lot of choice outside of our stars.

On the basis of a 11-player rotation, which Nuno has done for previous cup matches,

? Bennett Deslandes
Ronan Price N'Diaye Marshall
Bright Wilson Zyro

? = Hause or Douglas if fit, otherwise someone playing out of position.

I wonder if we'll see Batth moved back into the cup team. Needs someone to hold it together, and looking at that list I'm not inspired. Price, I guess, odd though it appears. Or Bennett maybe.

5.) 19 Sep 2017 17:20:18
Me again.

E&S predicting similar to me, but with Coady in the back 3 and Doc instead of N'Diaye. I'm sticking with N'Diaye and not sure Nuno will risk Coady in a cup match like this. On the other hand, the team does need a leader, and if not Coady then Batth.

Will know in a couple of hours.

6.) 19 Sep 2017 19:14:26
So it's Coady AND Batth!
But no Bennett - perhaps he'll feature in the next league match.

Also Rasmussen, whoever he is, rather than Donovan Wilson.

Looking especially at Zyro and to a lesser extent Price for some game-changing play here.

Just a quick post to highlight the quality of the coverage of U23 game on Southampton TV.

I moved to England in 1958 and have watched and supported Wolves ever since. In that time we have had great teams and great individual players; far too many to mention. We have also had countless managers/ head coaches in that time. Some have obviously been more successful than others and some have got our team playing better than the sum of the constituent parts. Unfortunately, I am enjoying an amazing holiday in Sri Lanka at the moment and having to follow our fortunes second hand through all possible internet sites. The Derby County sites extended highlights were fantastic in that respect. Despite the second hand nature of what I have seen and read, I am pretty confident in my assertion that I have never seen a Wolves coach who has had the degree of impact on our team, the individual players and our positive style of play, that Nuno and his staff have had to date. What they have achieved in a relatively short period of time is nothing short of remarkable. The turgid, insipid displays we have had to endure in the last two seasons have been enough to try the patience of the most ardent fans. When a new coach arrives and declares that he can make our players better players one can be excused for taking this with a degree of cynicism, as we have had so many false dans. BUT Nino has delivered. Coady, Bright, Saiss and Doherty. Where he can't make a silk purse from a sow, s ear he has brought in those he can improve. To hear him talk about how much more the players can improve is fantastic. Those who are willing to listen, learn and above all work hard and professionally will stay and flourish, those who can't or won't will be moved on. There appears a whole new level of professionalism about everything the coaching staff are doing and demanding: bodes really positively for our future. Hopefully the days of relying on distant past glories may be coming to an end.
Bit over the top I know, but from this side of the World with the Indian Ocean lapping gently on the beach, everything looks pretty positive.

Totally summed it up scottish wolf. Excellently put mate.

21 Jul 2017 16:14:11
Hope Graham's explanation of his omission from Austria squad was legitimate. He and Costa are the two players who can run past players. That ability to take an opponent out of the game is what is required to break down well drilled defensive teams. All the passing in the world will never beat the threat posed by wide players with pace and tricks. Jordan Graham is one such player and one we must hold on to.

Totally and utterly agree.

2.) 21 Jul 2017 21:14:42
I disagree if you play 343 and you got a striker who plays on the shouder of there back 4 . playing perfick balls down the middle and someone like dick' gayle ect will put them away. it was a perfick ball for dicko last game but could not control. I think we need both wingers and mfs to do this. not a real big team bar willy lol from set pieces ect and no big man down the middle. I think nuno will mad if we cross in from deep. more like that will cut in and play it a cross the middle ect.

Has come into his own since Pardew took over. Looked real handful, strong and surprisingly quick. Can’t see them selling as he is their most likely scorer. If he was available he’d be pretty high up on my wanted list.

Weather nothing to do with yesterday’s defeat. Deflected shot for first but fair play they had the shot, which was more than we managed. Goals were th e result of poor decision making. Deep in final third took thrown in to Cav who then turned inside and played loose all across his own penalty area. Three bad decisions there. Second goal started with Coady not getting loose ball under control and then playing loose looped pass which led directly to their throw. Douglas turned too easily and pull back went to Forest player in a read of space. Nice finish so credit where credit due. From then on on they were well organised, stuck to game plan and looked a threat on break. Main problem was that a number of players especially wing back looked to be running on empty plus didn’t get enough players attacking six yard box when we had some momentum in before they scored.

Don’t know anything and not mentioned above but heard this rumour when Fosun first arrived. Fosun to build new premises for Asda and to further develop the stadium and parking on present site. Makes sense for all parties.

Think Nuno looked at those who did not fully apply themselves in his first few weeks and moved them out. Hause was injured for most of pre-season. If he has applied himself subsequently he won’t be sold, if not then he’ll be off. It’s his way or no way and that is what has engendered the team spirit that is so apparent. Personally like Hause but not as the central one in a back three, better suited to the left berth filled by Boly at present. If Porto recalled Bol y as has been mentioned then would like to see Hause given a chance there.

He is committed to the project Fosun have outlined. Promotion to Premier League and financial support to establish the team as a premier league team. If that can be achieved with two mid table top flight finishes then the stakes will be raised, the stadium expanded and the sky's the limit.

Second half we set up to ensure Neves didn’t pick up a yellow (two game ban would follow) by playing him ahead of N’Diaye and this created a gap that QPR exploited with Eze and Freeman running at our defenders. Survived a bit of a scare and last ditch tackle by Bennett was brilliant.

Burton awayform better than home form. Neither very good but a ray of hope. More hope with Brentford as they can beat anyone on their day.
Natural that we’re all nervous as we move into the run-in period but if we focus on our games and secure the wins then we will get there sooner rather than later. Today is a big game as opponents are a good side who were very unlucky to lose last time out.

Take the point re E&S being as much in the dark as you and I, especially as they have never let the truth get in the way of a good story and that goes for their journalism way beyond the sports pages.
This is the Banter Page and it is therefore fine for us to speculate or even hope that certain outcomes may actually come to pass. Passes the time in between actual arrivals, which usually take us all by surprise. Prefer it that way as those that do arrive don’t turn up with half the posters already declaring that their not what they want.
Don’t stop posting even if you don’t have insider knowledge, doesn’t stop the E&S.

Personally I’d like to see new right-sided wing back (loan if possible) as Doc is running on. empty, which is unsurprising given his work rate and matches played. Would also like a more attack minded CM and a Jack in the box CF. Would also hang fire on permanently signing loanees if deals already in place in principle. Good starts have to be sustained, that’s the nature of English leagues, they’re long and arduous.

Big danger is doing a Derby County. Great position in January and then doing as some are suggesting. that is bringing in too many supposedly better players and disrupting team spirit and as a consequence losing all momentum. Not just Derby who have done that it is just that they’ve done it twice in recent years.
