I get that Rangers have problems but I think the truth of it is that it's FAR easier to win the SPL with Rangers than it is to win the Champ with QPR! The SPL is basically a way for young managers to get an easy title win on their cvs! I know Rangers are a big club but to be honest if he takes that job after turning us down well (for me) it does say a LOT regarding his self belief! Rangers might be a big club but the general standard of the SPL is an absolute joke! ?

@Ragingbull Nothing in football surprises me, but I believe Beale wasn’t up for the task at Wolves and I think he knew it too. I’d imagine he wouldn’t want his reputation as a manager tarnished (understandably). But going to Rangers would enhance his pedigree, it’s a win / win scenario: win the league and he’s a shoe in for a PL managerial role, come second (two horse race league) for a few seasons and he’ll probably get the same opportunity.

In any case, I think Wolves dodged a bullet and I’m more than happy with JL’s appointment. When he was initially linked I wasn’t (I wrote as much in here on a thread) what I didn’t know was Sevilla sold their best players, hence their poor league form, which I stupidly based my opinion on, rather than looking at their EL win and top four finishes.

Good luck to Beale whatever he decides to do, and good luck to Rangers, the SPL was poorer without them (I’m an armchair Celtic fan).

Probably a good intermediate step to a top league as the opportunity to gain Europa/Champions league experience is almost guaranteed the trick is taking it and then building on it.
