WW stands for Wonderful Wolves, and they were that today. The discussions have been what price Neto, my question is what price Gomes. He was magnificent. I'm sure a top six club will come knocking. Next up Sheffield United a team that will try and disrupt at any cost.

18 Feb 2024 13:00:18
Many of our players will be wanted. Our players need to decide if they want regular play time with Wolves and build something or a potentially only a backup role in a big 6. Think Matheus Nunes with City now. I know I personally would want to play. Wolves need to continue upping contract pay to these main guys so they have less incentive to leave.

18 Feb 2024 14:08:36
Many of our players may indeed be wanted, however we are in a strong position as most of them have at least 2 years left on their contract so any interested clubs will have to pay top dollar.

18 Feb 2024 15:14:45
£100 million, Neto.
£80 million Cunha.
£80 million Gomes.
Not a penny less.

22 Feb 2024 07:47:16
That's over a 1/4 of a billion Lostcity 38 years ago 1986 £65, 000 for Bully and Thommo.

22 Feb 2024 07:48:55
Ps saying that kilman was it £35, 000 how much he worth now 30 million maybe.

04 Mar 2024 13:25:28
£80M for Neto is exceptional price for his goal return, £50M if he stays fit for another 10 weeks would be good.
Cunha not worth any more than we paid for him until he shows he can perform over more than a full season
Gomes is going to be worth £50+ if he develops as much as he has done already, maybe £80 one day but not currently
Biggest job this summer is turning some of the loanees into a pot of gold, in Matt we trust

04 Mar 2024 15:21:57
Changing the subject, I heard Mr Lineker state again that Wolves have not scored from outside the box, I seem to remember a certain Tommy Doyle scoring a belter against Brentford from well outside the box. Admittedly it was a cup game but a goal is a goal. I'm sure that when Lineker played and totted up his goal tally for a season he included all cup and league games.

13 Feb 2024 01:08:26
Neto to ieave in summer for £60 million.

Arsenal and Liverpool are both interested in signing Portugal winger Pedro Neto from Wolves, who are willing to sell the 23-year-old if their valuation is met because of ongoing financial pressures. (Fichajes - in Spanish)

Backwards step if they allow this to happen, for me there is no replacement better than him, in his current form

13 Feb 2024 02:42:03
No he isn't, Wolves have already clearly stated it would take a exceptional offer for them to even listen by that they mean £90million+

13 Feb 2024 03:20:53
If you look at his current form for wolves he is worth well over £100.
Jack grealish has 3 assists and 2 goals in 15 games, Neto has 9 assists and 3 goals.
Grealish moved for over £110 million and in my opinion Neto is a better player by far and still very young

13 Feb 2024 05:58:20
If fosun can get investments into the club then imo there's a chance Neto will stay, unfortunately it looks to me he'll be sold.

13 Feb 2024 07:55:36
I love how the press are always linking Neto to Arsenal but seem to forget 2 major issues.

1st: Who will he replace? Saka on the right or Martinelli on the left? What happens to Smith Rowe, Trossard and Marquinhos?

2nd: They couldn't afford to buy Raya due to FFP concerns hence loaning him for the season. I think they've agreed a fee of £60m for him but surely they'll look for a striker as they're top priority.

13 Feb 2024 13:42:07
It's funny to see people here arguing with rumours.

13 Feb 2024 14:14:00
Salah to the Saudi Neto to Liverpool would be my guess.

13 Feb 2024 14:20:46
I might have missed something. Who's arguing?

13 Feb 2024 15:31:28
I posted my opinion.
Was chatting with my bro about it last few weeks in that the big clubs will be chasing our pkayers.
Lol he told me he knows I'm talking rubbish as my lips were moving.

13 Feb 2024 15:35:33
That is logical baza.
It's rumors, so no arguing, just hypothesizing.

13 Feb 2024 15:35:23
Who's arguing Handsomelad?
I think you need to learn the dufference between arguing and a topical conversation.

13 Feb 2024 19:15:54
When someone says "No he isn't.", then it sounds like they are debating or arguing with a posted rumour.
If they said "I think that number is way too low", then it wouldn't be the case.

13 Feb 2024 22:06:26
So it's fair to say that you've started an argument with you original post. I mean, you haven't put that you think he may leave. You've been very matter of fact about it.

14 Feb 2024 02:57:12
Maybe next time you see a rumour on social media don't post it as fact if you don't want to be corrected with actual facts that the club themselves have said.

14 Feb 2024 13:40:41
We should not accept anything less than 100m for Neto. All these other teams slapping ridiculous fees for their players and then we seem to always get low balled. For example 100m for braithweight (sp) At Everton.
Neto is one of the top 5 players in the league. He is unplayable. A world class player.

14 Feb 2024 19:16:41
Trouble is Handsome, there are rumours and then there's total absolute fairytales invented by those with nothing better to do. Fortunately, most can see through you.

Totti has signed a new 5 year deal with Wolves.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Feb 2024 15:33:45
Rated mate good deal for Totti but the Jan transfer window it's been on several places we won't have the money to spend. Which I find unreal we basically cleared all our debts with selling players yet we will struggle in the summer window somethings wrong some where if its true.

09 Feb 2024 18:24:26
We'll have money to spend. I think the issue is that in January, Wolves were in a position where they wanted a player but were not prepared to be held to ransom over them.

Broja would have cost either £35m which Chelsea are rumoured to have wanted all up front due to their own FFP worries. Most teams want to spread the payments over a few years.

Or £3m loan fee and guaranteed playing time and obligation to buy at £35m.

Loan fee of £3m and guaranteed playing time. If Broja was available but not selected, then we would have to pay Chelsea a penalty fee.

On top if this were the players wages.

All round it was a bad deal for Wolves so we walked away.

The Brazilian striker had agreed terms with us, as had Corinthians however, the players agent wanted a further $1m so we walked away.

Spending was down by £700m this January as clubs are determined to not bankrupt themselves.

10 Feb 2024 02:08:02
This January has been classed as one of the queitest and lowest spending transfer windows in the history of the Premier league.

10 Feb 2024 08:49:28
Does anyone else wonder about the wider impact of curbed PL spending?, clubs across Europe etc know PL sides are willing to pay top dollar for a target. That all but disappeared in January.

10 Feb 2024 12:31:52
PSG, Barcelona and Juventus have all recently been punished by UEFA for various financial breaches.

Theo Corbeanu leaves Wolves and he's on his way to medical as new Granada player.

Permanent transfer agreed and now being finalised.

From Fabrizo Romano.

Expect to see 'Handsome' having a chunter.

01 Feb 2024 17:46:12
Good for him. He obviously wasn't going anywhere at Wolves.
No point wasting your life playing at Grasshoppers when you can play in the top division.

02 Feb 2024 06:05:05
Hodge to QPR on loan

31 Jan 2024 23:20:44
From Keen so reliable,
Wolves are working on two attacking signings as the club look for late swoops before tomorrow's 11pm transfer deadline. Noha Lemina signing completed and club looking at two additions on top of that - but no guarantees.

31 Jan 2024 19:36:44
Corinthians have reportedly rejected Wolves' loan offer for striker Yuri Alberto.

Wolves wanted the 22 year old on loan with a 15 million euro option to buy. The Brazilian club has no interest in loaning him out without the certainty that they will sell the player.

Football insider reporting now he's flying in to watch the Man Utd match as well as have a medical. Let's see if any more mainstream reports confirm it.

31 Jan 2024 20:44:32
According to Football Insider, he's flying to the UK and will be attending the game tomorrow as well as having a medical. No idea how reliable F.I. are.

31 Jan 2024 21:22:38
A couple more of the gossip sites are reporting medical tomorrow and will be present for the Utd game.

31 Jan 2024 22:22:05
Well so far i've not been wrong, ofcourse there is always a chance I could be wrong lol.

31 Jan 2024 23:41:06
Deal is off Wolves have pulled out.

01 Feb 2024 06:45:18
Apparently an issue with the player's Agent.so no deal
(same thing happened with West Ham last window).

01 Feb 2024 09:44:27
Greedy agent again we do not want people like him around our club.

01 Feb 2024 15:14:06
Apparently Wolves had agreed a loan fee and transfer fee with the club. Personal terms were agreed with the player and then at the last minute, the players agent wanted an extra £2m for his services.

Looks like that's bitten him in the ass as now he gets nothing and the player is apparently looking to find a new agent.

01 Feb 2024 16:05:20
Very typical of the South American market. Too many fingers in the pie when it comes to transfers.

{Ed002's Note - Yuri Alberto (F) Bit part player whose goals have dried up this year. Sanfrecce Hiroshima made an approach to take him to replace Pieros Sotiriou in their foreign quota. Wolves have been "advised" he would be a good option to take on loan, but they would need to offer an obligation rather than an option to buy. I am not aware of Everton interest and it would be a huge risk.}

31 Jan 2024 14:48:03
Yuri Alberto, Corinthians (ex Zenit St Petersburg) is Wanderers number 9?

31 Jan 2024 15:13:58
Deal almost done.

31 Jan 2024 15:19:32
Old Wulf how do you know that never even heard of the guy.

31 Jan 2024 15:35:31
Just watched a few clips of him old wulf, looks useful left and right footed can head a ball and follows in. Is it actually confirmed yet?

31 Jan 2024 15:39:11
Looks a possibility Old Wolf he's played with both Gomes and Cunha for Brazil so I'm sure Gary and Matt will have spoken about him to them. tbh probably as good if not better than spending 35 mill on Broja cwho may not come good. Certainly knows how to find the net from his YouTube clips. Good positioning sense by the looks of him. Worth a punt.

31 Jan 2024 16:13:48
Looks useful.

31 Jan 2024 16:51:22
You'll note that there's a question mark at the end of my comment Dek, thus indicating it's not a certainty. However, it does seem to be a rumour that has substance and legs unlike many that have appeared on here in the past.Time will tell and we don't have long to wait.

31 Jan 2024 18:04:38
Don't think this is happening.been rejected

30 Jan 2024 14:00:38
Wolves and PSG have reached a full agreement regarding the loan deal for Noha Lemina!

30 Jan 2024 14:32:59
Whoop whoop!

30 Jan 2024 14:33:16
I wasn't being sarcastic - TY Rated.

30 Jan 2024 14:41:00
Very good move!

Ekiteke would be another positive loan move. Nothing about him on any of the usual sites - looked good at Rheims but what chance would he have with the PSG forward line options. He has a point to prove - he will suddenly appear somewhere in the Premier League - better option than Broja and all of his hype.

30 Jan 2024 15:05:47
Talks are ongoing with Ekitete, Chelsea rejected Wolves loan for Boja too.

30 Jan 2024 15:08:51
But I thought Lemina would all come down to a work visa?

30 Jan 2024 16:44:38
Vbwolf we can still sign him I think he'll be a ecc player though which means he'll be reviewed later on for a work permit but ECC players can still play, I think we're allowed 4 max.
One of the Eds will probably know more about it than me.

{Ed002's Note - It is rather more complicated than that as signing players as exceptions require clubs to make commitments that the vast majority don't want to agree to. So there is an associated risk if he does not get a WP.}

30 Jan 2024 19:56:07
Thanks Ed mate, I wasn't too sure of it all thankyou for clearing it up for me.

30 Jan 2024 20:59:01
Let's be honest, none of us have a clue if it's a good move or not. He's only just out of kindergarten but obviously a lot cheaper one than that attended Silva! At least he'll have someone to keep an eye on him!

30 Jan 2024 22:41:29
Hopefully our scouting team have done their research and he turns out to be a gem.

£2m option to buy and 20% of future profit to PSG.

31 Jan 2024 08:44:40
I read it was £1m option to buy and 25% of future profit to PSG.

31 Jan 2024 15:48:41
I've read something about Wolves saying it's down to Noha if they sign him permanently.
Not sure if that means he has to show he means business or if they feel he may not want to live in England.

31 Jan 2024 16:28:48
£1.7million option mate 25% sell on clause.

29 Jan 2024 16:08:44
We are still Noha Lemina's number one choice (Mario obviously having a big influence) but concerns over work permit - may have to be a future target.

I'm also being told that Leny Yoro is a big target for the summer as GON wants to go to a back four for next season.

Broja/Ekiteke possible but only on Wolves' terms.

I watched the game on TV this afternoon.
First let's address the ref and the Cunha issue/yellow card. Whilst it would undoubtedly be a total waste of time appealing it was clearly a horrendous error/piece of work by the ref!
Although the ref in the second half was ok in the first half he was awful and sadly let Brighton make a fool of him.
I had always assumed Brighton played lovely stuff and were super exciting.
What I didn't realise was how versed in the darker arts they are now under Zebri (sp)
In the first couple of minutes Estupian (sp) body checked a Wolves player to stop a fast break - free kick but no booking! Over the next 40 minutes Gilmour did this 4 times! Not once was a free kick given - presumably the ref didn't see as it wasn't the man on the ball he brought down but a supporting runner - in each case Cunha.
Perhaps hard to criticize the ref, who presumably didn't see the fouls, but the linesman and VAR must have - indeed Jenas, who pinned his Brighton colours to the mast pretty early on, commented on the 3rd that it was a clear foul but Cunha over played the contact (?) - so what were they doing?Whatever you think of today and today's ref we do though have a serious problem with refs and the bookings, (and presumably eventually suspensions), continue to mount up. Given the size of our squad this may hurt us.
Overall, despite Brighton having most of the ball and territory, a point was a little disappointing with Wolves having by far the better chances. Note however I would have taken it in a flash before the game.
Ratings Sa 7 - Had a calm afternoon and made everything look easy - some of it wasn't. Still not sure why so many Wolves fans don't rate him?
Doherty 7 - Didn't get forward as much as he normally does - presumably under instructions - but was solid at the back.
Toti 7 - Played well. Didn't look flustered or hurried despite the pressure Brighton applied at times.
Dawson 7 - Dominated the box and was strong. Showed good leadership. Not sure why he was booked.
Kilman 7 - Like Dawson was very strong. Both made countless blocks
Semedo 8 - Excellent defensively. Given our set up didn't do much going forward.
Doyle 8 - Worked v hard and made lots of challenges but was also calm and progressive on the ball
Lemina 7 - He was poor in the first half but got better and better as he worked his way into the game T . Great Engine!
Sarabia 6 - Pace of the game was hard for him but did ok
Cunha 6 - Missed a few chances and wasn't quite at his best, probably upset by the injustice done to him. Needs to put it behind him and we need to ensure that the refs going forward are made aware of what the opposition are doing illegally!
Neto 8 - So close to being a superstar. It would have taken very little for him to have been the match winner. Given he has only just come back from injury (again) I am really hopeful that we have a genuine star in our ranks - DO NOT SELL!
Subs
Bellegard 6 - Didn't really get into the game
Chirewa N/A Albeit on a brief performance showed maturity and discipline when called upon.

Flat marks across the team demonstrate just what a solid performance this was.
We are midtable but at the moment I'm looking up not down!

23 Jan 2024 20:10:34
As always very much appreciated Thefutureisoldgold, An excellent post/read.

23 Jan 2024 20:31:50
Note it was stated Cunha was booked for constant infringements but when he was booked I am not sure he had actually committed a single foul?
In the move pre the booking however Cunha and Gilmour came together twice.
Fistly Cunha challenged Gilmour who went down and at full speed it looked like a foul but on the replay it was clear that Cunha played the ball and in fact not only was there no contact but there was at least 12 inches of clear air between them. Gilmour went down - fell over/dived - but regardless the ref seemingly and correctly gave nothing?
A few moments/passes later Wolves having won the ball were again breaking and Cunha was attempting to get up in support. Once again Gilmour aware of the danger ran over and shoulder charged him to the ground - a clear foul. Cunha was then booked.
Unsurprisingly he was unhappy and at half time you can lip read him talking to the linesman coming off saying "he fouled me". He obviously believed he had been booked for being fouled by Gilmour who was set on ensuring Cunha could not join in the Wolves attack.
The refs statement that it was for persistent infringments and the booking itself would be laughable were it not so serious!

23 Jan 2024 21:37:26
When Cunha was booked it was described as ridiculous by Mikey. Tommo and Tom King. The sad part is there will be no consequences for the referee and his assistants they seem to be untouchable. It's time that changed. it won't though mainly because there isn't enough of them available to cover all the matches.

24 Jan 2024 08:37:47
Thanks Future, I listened to the commentary but your assessment gives a fuller picture.

24 Jan 2024 16:25:55
For me Sarabia gave the ball away too easily and didn’t look comfortable.
There’s talk (click bait)? Of selling him on and looking at a winger from Sunderland (Clarke?).
Any thoughts?

24 Jan 2024 19:21:57
Jack Clarke, young winger/forward, quick, two footed and performing well in the Championship. Question is, can he make the step up?

25 Jan 2024 11:21:45
In reply to the above if Jack Clarke could make the step up, Chquinho has already proven that he can and he won't cost us anything!

25 Jan 2024 15:12:48
The young lad from Ipswich - Chirewa (sp) also looked completely comfortable albeit for only a few minutes at the end of the game.
Since GON brought him on one can only assume he is confident in him as well?

26 Jan 2024 07:17:33
Hi TFIG, yes I agree GON has done a good job with him in training getting him comfortable playing with the seniors and making him feel like he belongs on the pitch with them, looks calm on the ball.
