Thinking about the appointment of DS and although not immediately happy I do hope that I am proven wrong as I would love to admit I was wrong so good luck DS
But my thoughts have turned to what has happened in the last 36 hours and I do see a glimmer of hope and his is why.
Morgan is a successful business man who always needs a plan B in case something goes wrong, it is obvious that DS had got the job last night therefore someone had been working in the back ground, no doubt one of SM mates not Jez, so why not Jez.
The pie man stuck behind MM like poo sticks to a blanket despite the obvious failings, then when he got the boot we could not do a deal for Curbishly so we appointed TC, again when everyone new it was a mistake and the obvious sacking followed then after months the appointment of SS was made, everyone again was amazed and as Rodger Johnston said "never heard of him" but Jez new best.
So after all this SM must have realised what we all know, Jez is a plonker and not to be trusted, and thought next time I will do what I want because it my club and the buck stops here, I have friends in football and good contacts myself therefore I will (as he would in business) use these and sort the problem out myself
I think therefore this is SM under minding Jez and realising he is the problem, hopefully I am correct and soon the pie man will be gone {Ed011's Note - Solbakken was morgan's man not MOxey's.
Morgan recruited t.c and morgan also recruited ståle..so if morgan has recruited dean saunders god help us..

Tend to agree. Wouldn't have been my choice, but always good to get a manager "on the up" rather than one with a long patchy history.
Mostly pleased that Morgan took action now, in the transfer window, rather than waiting till March like last year. Probably should have done this before Christmas, but I guess those "easy" Christmas games were last-chance-saloon for SS.

First of all you lot keep saying saunders is not a prem manager who will not sign prem players....WELL guess what we are in the CHAMPIONSHIP so we need players to get us out this league, not fancy crap, need hard battling players who will grind out results, i don't care if its not fancy football...as long as we get results. instead of being fickle like 80% like most wolves fans are, why not try getting behind the bloke and the team and get some belief and passion back instead of slating everyone 24/7

Some sides build a team to win the championship and then make the necessary signings in the summer to form a prem squad. Wolves have neither the pulling nor the spending power to do this in one transfer window. We need to begin building a premiership quality side now, and that will take a long time. I don't like using Swansea but they are the perfect example of how to do it right, they just about got into the playoffs the year they went up. Their style could not win them the championship, but it has kept them in the premiership quite comfortably. You have to plan for the future now, even if that means seemingly going backwards. We are just going to do the same thing again and again and again until we realise this.

I've just watched this interview, and I for think all of the players should be made to watch it! Humbling, he never once slated the lazy, overpaid wasters we have at our club. Now we will never know, a big more patience and hard work and he could of turned it around. Oh well onwards and upwards, in Deano we trust!! Up the wolves!

It is not in my nature to be pleased to see someone fired from their job. Sure he has made and will continue to make a lot of money from football but he has always come across as a genuine guy who wanted the best for the club and was driven and convinced that he could succeed in his vision. It was a shame for him that our club was not a suitable fit for that vision and in turn he was not a fit for our vision because although we all want a long lasting change that will keep us in the promise land our patience doesn't agree, we really want a rapid return with Morgan showing the colour of his money to get us there.
The truth is the cost of the 3 payoffs will eat up a large part of any transfer kitty for this window.
In the short term reverting to the current players preferred way of playing will probably see us climb to mid table By the season end. We will never know how much of a wasted opportunity this was in the long term. SS was trying to build something that clearly none of the current squad could cope with and the board bottled it ....again

The players are to blame entirely and Moxey has gone and got a manager who has experience of getting a championship team relegated. I know SS had no championship experience but at least it isn't the same as experience of failing in this division. I would have much preferred to have stale as manager and now we are left with a championship failure. I actually can't go to anymore matches this year as its too depressing seeing the team in its current state
It was always going to be tough for SS. His defence were the failed back four from last year and most of the rest were last year's substitutes. He brought in some good (but frail) players too.
That said, we shouldn't be losing to Peterbrough and Luton. If it's the players' fault then let's hope Deano is allowed to clear them out and get some players in who want to succeed.
What a sad video. Felt so sorry for him as he seemed such a nice guy. He was just at the wrong club with players who are too set in their ways. I really wish him well for the future and hope he goes somewhere where he is appreciated.

As fans we seem to just accept that we are the 'wrong club' for change. I thought it was great last season when West Ham fans were singing 'We are West Ham, we play on the floor', shows they really care about their clubs public image and the football they play. I've always been a bit embarassed by the football our current squad plays, one step away from Stoke.

No its not negative fans, it is a very strong fan base who want the best for this great club. Lets hope Dean gets off to a flyer on Friday night - I for one will be there to give him and the team my support. A Wolves fan for more than 55 years.

3) ear muffs - so you dont hear the boos at half time

I dont know anything about DS or his style of football, I know him only as a player, he always seemed to have a goal in the final 10 for goal of the month. It always seemed to be a fantastic goal or a dreadful dreadful miss with him!
I have been digging on the Doncaster boards for info on DS and SOD I have to say from what I have read on the Doncaster boards I'm not that inspired by either, but hey thats football fans for you!

mail online are reporting dean saunders has been recommended to steve morgan via his connections in liverpool. ( pity they diden"t recommend kenny dalglish )

Fortunately Moxey does not quite see eye to eye with McKay and neither should a single Wolves fan after he helped Henri Camara leave for a tuppence. McKay was working with Doncaster with Saunders to bring in players on loan when they were in the Championship last season. In an article in the Guardian last season it said "Both men state that McKay is not Saunders's agent. "I have known Willie for years," the manager says. Ed have u heard any rumours linking us with any players? {Ed011's Note - Nothing concrete yet, everything's been swept up in the managerial hunt. A couple of people saying we're interested in loaning 22 year old Spurs player Iago Falque.
Interesting article in "when saturday comes" - dated 27th October..Claims he doesn't play pretty football, refers it as "smash and grab" but seemingly gets the results...
Doncaster are currently 2nd in D1.He seems to have done something right.Whether or not it works at this level however...I'm dreading it if he's going to bring kick and hope route one back to Mol...

Dean saunders lives close to Steve Morgan and they have been friends since his Liverpool days, no one can be worse than Stale and his inability to change things. We should try and sell as manu of the money takers from the squad as quickly as possible.The problem is that the best team still picks itself. It may be the leas to Souness coming in as DOF

Morgan has had a long friendship with Saunders and maybe the big positive is, I don't think he can afford for him to fail, and he will be backed financially.this will be Morgan's last throw of the dice with the wolves fans, if this appointment fails expect the club to be put up for sale.the realist.
We are Wolves fans and as such have to give the new man full support, regardless of our stated views. I agree that at the moment the most positive recommendation for DS is that SM is a pal! As you know I am unimpressed by recent Wolves management decisions, but if the die is struck we must support the new boss. However, there is much for this management team to prove.

Why on earth would anyone want O'Driscoll? Is it because he is a Wolves fan? If that is the road you want to go down then there are bigger names to go for who supported the Wolves in their youth! Kevin Keagan, Sam Allardyce, I'd even prefer Denis Irwin.
As for Dean Saunders you couldn't make it up! Lets go down the road and get Keith Downing back, he wouldn't suffer those overpaid fools that are turning out for us now! So what makes you think we are going to attract a world class manager especially the league position we are in, any manager who takes the reins of the players is basically working with a league 1 team at the moment. christmas has some early, a couple of things, doncaster said on twitter that no offical approach as been made for dean saunders thank god, sod in talks with barnslay, thank god, de metteo is my choice, or ray wilkins. {Ed011's Note - They've confirmed now that we've made an approach for him.

Look at the poll on e and s says it all who the fans want in such a small amount of time. Give Curbs or RDM the job with wilkins assistant its a no brainer all the rest cr*people cvs. Wolves have got to haveeveryone buy into the appointment including the fans for a change

Saunders will win you over given chance, his a mans man who doesn't suffer fools lightly, very level headed and a really genuine guy, he will tell it like it is and be his own man, he will suss out moxey and Morgan.its his job if he wants it, but it will be on his terms, he will want the tools to succeed.dont worry if he gets the job but be very worried if he turns it down.the realist.
Why would Saunders take the job on an interim basis when he will get into the championship via play offs or directly with DRFC.

This is what I have heard:
Dean Saunders is the man Morgan and Moxey want as manager. His name has been top of their list for some time. Wolves have discussed this with Doncaster, with regards to availability and compensation. They have discussed with Saunders and his agent.
However, no official move has been made.
An official move is expected on Monday to allow formalities to begin.
Saunders will not be given any money to spend in January and will be tasked to take time to assess the squad. He will also be told to get rid of high wage earners at some point. However, he will be allowed to bring in his own staff and given the chance for loan signings.
Morgan and Moxey believe that DS can manage the squad to safety and then proper squad building will occur in the summer.
Wolves have been inundated with interested parties, such as Peter Reid, Mark Hughes and Phil Brown - but Saunders remains the top target. Driscoll is not interested by all accounts btw.
I see Paul from Tamworth hasn't called for him to be sacked yet!....good sign?
Look at the facts for Dean saunders as a manager on wiki, they doesn't look great. Doncaster, at home, have won 6 and lost 5 so far this season. Why is he even being mentioned? Its because he is mates with Morgan through Souness. Since Morgan has been owner he has sacked MM, big mistake, hired TC, big mistake, Hired SS mistake and now it looks like Saunders. The sooner this guy admits he knows nothing about football and hands over the reigns the better. MOXEY AND MORGAN OUT!
Been in Deanos company on a few occasions, think you will be surprised, really good guy with a wealth of experience and I for one think this could be a decent appointment.He has great enthusiasm for the game and plays the right way.and one thing for sure the big egos won't get their own way, anyone not conforming wont play that's his way.the realist.
I think Hughes did a top job at Fulham and Blackburn and city to a degree. The QPR a step to far but could see him doing a job for us!
A look at Saunders track record shows he failed to get Wrexham out of the Conference in a three year stint. He also failed to keep Doncaster in the Championship last season.
Is this the pedigree of leader that is needed to get Wanderers out of the Championship? On past form he just hasn't got anything that sets him apart from the pack. It says more about Morgan and Moxey's inability to pick an outstanding leader/coach, and shows a distinct lack of ambition. I can see us mithering about in the bottom half of the Championship in January 2014; if that's the case nobody worth their salt will want to touch Wolves with a bargepole.
At least the Bhatti brothers were trying to asset strip the club - the current duo just make Laurel and Hardy look competent.Sad, sad, times.

You all have an opinion just like myself, people are already saying Saunders is the wrong person for the job, nobody really knows how good or bad he would be if he's appointed I will back him, he just might prove people wrong he's been a very good player where ever he played, he showed a lot of passion when he played let's hope it rubs off on our players, he might just surprise people, if he gets the job COYW !!!!
I am sad to see Stale go, in time I think it would have worked out. His mistake, not clearing the decks in the summer and believing that he could get something out of a core group of players, who have let previous managers down, let the club and most recently themselves down. just a thought, it all seemed to go wrong when the players buddy TC was sacked. I will support whoever is appointed manager and I hope they have the good sense to begin a cull of the current squad ASAP.
Il be happy with Saunders, he was a good player, knows the English leagues, can work to a budget and is doin a good job at Doncaster. Id rather him than Karl Robinson of MK Dons. Paul Tamworth

Because we are run by mugs, I think we should get someone in with a track record to get us promoted then sack this person and get a pedigree manager after promotion. We need to be sharper and clued up than we have been dirty I know but needs must. I say this because this is all the names mentioned are good for I can't see Saunders having anymore impact than say Brian McDermott

What do you think about this ed, his it a good move, jason wolvesfor life {Ed011's Note - He'll be relatively cheap to get in in terms of wage, transfer demands and won't cost us as much in terms of compensation as other managers. Knowing Morgan they may've met during his LFC days, to be completely honest I disapprove, looks like another money saving move from Morgan but I'll give him the same chance I'd give to any other manager we could've brought in, maybe we'll be celebrating come May we can't know what'll happen. BUT if it doesn't work out I can't see anyway Morgan and Moxey can stay.
Well it looks like its Dean Saunders and I for one although it wouldn't have been my choice will get fully behind him and will not be judging him till next season. He will have the rest of this window And the summer window to make a diff until then his brief should be keep us in this division. Transformation is required so no good cAlling for his head in March after a couple of poor results. I urge all wolves please do the same and let's get rid of the nastiness that currently surrounds our great club.

Steve weaver and recent appointment stuartbwebber both worked withbsaunders at wrexham, have met Saunders and personally think he would do a good job, up and coming young manager, we could do a lot worse.
Havnt we learned our lesson, Steve Bruce got scared off, Saunders team are top of league one playing good attacking attractive football and are actually above DI Canios Swindon.
Decent source tells me that Mick may not get funds at Ipswich and Morgan would be open to a return but Moxey not so sure.

How can you run a club or business like this? You can not allow a small clique of under performing employees to dictate management decisions. It is incompetence, and beyond belief.
