If it is true and I've been waiting for this one because I don't know much about neves but boly is by far and away the best defender we've got. I have a friend who lives abroad and is a season ticket holder at Port and he raves about boly. ill admit I've been sceptical but this really is massive and who knows what's next.

I hate to be a doom merchant but this is all an elaborate bit of work by mendes to generate a bid from one of the big premier league teams for neves. The Portuguese press are good friends with mendes and doing him a favour using Wolves as fake bidders for his player.
Have you noticed it's gone all quiet in Portugal now that the news has filtered into England. IT IS NOT REAL! Now just wait for a champions league team come and sign him.

On the surface appears peculiar that Nino would want two players he didn't play a lot last year when he managed them at Porto. But being totally realistic he wasn't going to get any of their 'go to players' .
Porto are a Champions League team and will keep their top, top players or lose them to £30 million plus bids from Europes elite. On the other hand he wouldn't recruit players he knows if he had any doubts that they wouldn't enhance his/ our team.
Opportunity to get a team into the Premier League with promise of significant backing if he does is something that comes around rarely and I am sure every signing he makes will significantly improve our chances of that aim being achieved.
Monday and announcement of pre-season tour party will be very interesting. Surely would want all business apart from Premier loans completed before then. Could be a fun few days ahead.

Once upon a time football journalists like Tim Nash had real links with their local team and teams would work with them to alert players to interest or clubs to possible departures. No longer the case. Trawling the internet for rumours is the stock in trade of all but a few journalists these days.

Unfortunately when you have substantial players on your side like Fosun and Mendes they are going to create press speculation every time they make an enquiry about a player. It's frustrating for fans when rumours fall by the wayside and I'm sure we will get plenty of this over the next few weeks. But keep the faith. At least we know this regime are not setting false hopes to look active or promote season ticket sales. The ones that we land will be the right ones.
