I remember us trying to buy Clyne from Palace when we were in the Premier League and they were struggling in the Championship. Their manager told him to wait as a bigger better club will come along. Still seems good advice, Iorfa is probably a better prospect than Sako or Afobe.

Abbywolf it's because of his age. I bet you could not find A replacement at his age and ability for much less. Bournemouth signed Tyrone Mings from Ipswich for £8 mil and he wasn't an U21 international! I wouldn't rush and take the first offer its been mentioned that Arsenal are interested.

Hope Iorfa stays, but the reality is that £11m is a nice chunk of money - PROVIDED IT IS ENTIRELY REINVESTED IN THE SQUAD. I cannot state that enough. Can't see Byrne being considered as his replacement; Kenny with a winger at full-back. Sounds way too ambitious for "Cautious Kenny"! Most likely is Doherty will return to right-back and someone brought in to fill left-back berth. But yeah, if there are whispers of Arsenal's interest then sit tight.
Iorfa for me is a player who will only improve - so why cash out early. Look for instance at Joleon Lescott - we got a nice sum of money for him from Everton yet they sold him on for £24m! It could however give us the financial fire power to actually strengthen this summer - a 'Moneyball' scenario.

Your prob right Jim, so 11mil for iorfa will keep us in the black for next season. I'd like to keep Hause so is there anyone out there daft enough to give us 2 mil for landell? We will def be shopping in Div3, so let's get Bradshaw and Rico Henry!

JB - I'm hearing the same about keeping in the black before buying any players! Looks like it's going to be a long summer as the lesser premier clubs like Bournemouth will hold out until the end of the window. In turn players we may have identified will be lost, leaving us with the 5th/ 6th choices if we're lucky. That said after deducting SM'/ JM's chunk that should be enough to buy players from the lower lower leagues😀😀😀.

Well it's good money, and while we might not see him as outstanding and erratic, he's good enough for England u21 and can be coached to greater things in the right setup. He will do well in the Prem.
Meantime, Byrne, really? No we will need to sign a RB and/ or a LB. Doc will surely now be first choice for one of those. But knowing Kenny he'll play Byrne as full back and Doc on the wing. Actually a loan signing might be more likely.
