BBC reports that no decision on new coach will be made until after the weekend. Hope we are not too late to get Coyle> Some people say the board are dragging their heels on this one unlike last time. they're damned if the do and damned if they dont!

Well if that's correct then that blows my prediction of an appointment or approach this week.

The tv state that there are 4 names in the mix - the 4 that we've been predicting (Coyle, David, McLaren and Jackett) - however separately Davis says he hasn't been contacted, so who knows what's true?

Hope we are too late

I think there's trouble behind the scenes. appointing a head coach doesn't take this long no matter how carefull the board are being. At this rate all our favourite candidates wil have gone elsewhere andwe will have to take whoevers left.

Either they have gone elsewhere or there's more than just our club with much the same shortlist.

Number 4, I think you might be correct. I wonder if we have offered the job to someone who has knocked us back because the terms and conditions are impossible to work with. Worrying times, indeed.

Stop worrying I could manage wolves in the close season, think of the money were saving go on jezmond.

I've got a horrible feelin we will end up with the cheap option, hope I'm wrong! This is where Morgan could start to build bridges with the supporters! Will he? I hope so, but I won't hold my breath! Paul Tamworth

It's hard one think we're struggling though and now Martinez has left Wigan were struggling more! Got a feeling it'll be mclaren but to be honest doesn't really matter who we get because really not sure there's enough patience behind the scenes to let the manager/coach to get on withy he job and put a stamp on the team!

Madds wolves

Coyle will be Wolves new head coach, Wigan want René Meulensteen or Gus Poyet.

Again more reasons for fans like myself who say morgan is not fit to own /run our once great club we are not a top four club in the world to take this long interviews then second interviews then others to talk to its rubbish they morgan/mpxley have not got a clue sell up morgan back up the a41

I wonder why Sheff U want Jackett and not Coyle

Heard a rumour that we have been knocked back by a couple of candidates as they want full control of transfers. EBW

"Heard a rumour that we have been knocked back by a couple of candidates as they want full control of transfers"

The people that MM appear to be chasing aren't head coach material, they are old fashioned managers. I can't see how these people would work with Thelwell in charge.

A head coach will probably need to be junior to Thelwell, so will likely be a recently-retired player or someone who has done a good coaching job already.

So if Coyle etc have knocked us back for that reason then I wouldn't be surprised. I like to think that discussions are about HOW a good manager can work in the proposed club setup, not WHETHER a new manager could work in the club setup, which seems to be based around KT from what I can tell.

Jackett to be appointed in next few days

Would love to see Warnock in charge, for that very reason - we'd have a manager in charge of the players - not the other way round! Any news on more clearouts? just SEB and Hunt with Craddock retiring isn't revolutionary

The loanees have all gone away too. The players in contract will all be subject to Moxey's usual business dealings with other clubs, and I'd expect Doyle, O'Hara and Johnson to be the ones to leave mainly because they'll be on high salaries and because they can cut it at a higher level (apparently).

Maybe we're waiting for the manager's appointment before we'll know about players.

I want doyle to stay but ohara and johnson can go hate them both

Mike Pheland and Ren Meulensteen has both been contacted with regards to an interview.

Good coaches so was mclearen Spirit 123

Lets not forget jakette and coil

I bet we end up with a person in charge ffs

Looks like dithering incompetent senior management has lost us the best of the candidates who now are looking to pursue their careers elsewhere.

"jakette and coil" - sound like contraceptives.

Jackett looks more than likely to go to Sheffield Utd. He's the fans favourite, and it's all over Sheffield papers that the job's his for the taking. So we've missed out there.

Owen Coyle has applied for the Wigan job now, it's looking between him and Meulensteen to get that one.

I don't think the ex-Man Utd coaching team would drop two divisions personally.

Which hopefully leaves Gus Poyet? He's missed out on the Stoke and Everton jobs. I find it unlikely, but if there's a chance, C'mon Morgan, pull your finger out and get him to sign the thing before he goes elsewhere too

We should pay above and beyond a reasonable fee for Poyet rather than get any of coyle or Jackett, neither of them is the answer. Would rather Davis than those two as well.

Can't work out why people want Steve Davis from Crewe? He's older than Coyle, he's achieved nothin compared to Coyle. Far less experienced, just a cheap option! Coyle, Jackett or McClaren are far better options! Paul Tamworth

I can't understand why people wany coyle, he's achieved nothing, got burnley promoted, leaves for Bolton and within 3 years gets them relegated. NO THANKS!

"jakette and coil" - sound like contraceptives.

McWulf it means we can get screwed and have no end product. No change there then.

Jez Moxeys Second Chin

You contradict yourself, he's achieved nothin, but got Burnley Promoted? If he can get Burnley to the Prem then surely getting us back to the Championship will be a doddle! Whoever takes over has got to get us promoted first time of askin! Anything else is failure! Paul Tamworth

And we all thought it couldn't get any safer than a pair of contraceptives a jacket or a coyle, and it looks like we've messed that up, does anybody want to come to this once great f. c. or are the 2 ms realy cheap skates, if so, they must go, the pair of them, and let someone else take this club to the next level, who now something about football, they say we are going to follow them down the road in employing a manager, but we all now this his a cover up to save moxeys job has our d. o. f. thelwell has to report to moxey, and then moxey to morgan, moxey should of gone really, and thelwell should be reporting to morgan with his ideas, then you can say we do it like them down the road, remember what moxey said wolves fans, we will not do an albion or what morgan said after blackburn match, this will not happen again he said , your right the pair of you, we are in div. 1 and no manager after 3 weeks, said we are half way through interviews, that means another 3 weeks taking us into late july, kick off in august, and team not sorted, can only happen to wolves, hope you get it right this time and surprise me you never now. wolfy

Haha JM's SC

At least we'll be safe.

If Phelan puts in as much effort at management as he did at playing football at The Baggies you would be better off giving Moxey the job.

Steve Davis has form at working with youngsters (Crewe have always had once of the best academies in the country). he plays along the floor, attractive football as oppposed to hoofball. He's won things that Crewe were really not supposed to. And he's a Wolves supporter. All of these are why he'd be my first choice. If we haven't contacted him or Crewe, we've missed a massive trick.

Owen Coyle would do a good job. Until he jumped ship he worked wonders at Burnley, and the supporters, apart from his "judas" trick still rate him

No going to repeat what Forest or Twente supporters think of McClaren again, except by saying if you really want really dull, defensive football, go on, call for him. Just don't complain mid-season when we are going nowhere quickly.
