All you Rhodes fans will see Blackburn paid £8m for him. A good player but not, IMO, worth £8m.

Shows that we sold Fletcher and Jarvis far too cheaply...

Jez salivating at His Huddersfield counterpart Nigel Clibbens relieving Blackburn of 8m...horrible thought...but again shows how overpriced U.K players are. Looked at a couple of French sites today and Bako was realy rated and expected to go to Prem. Let's trust SS as he seems to be getting a lot for the money and if we're patient they will gel/thrive. He's not come here to fail and will make his knowledge of Europe work for the mighty WW!

I guarantee Rhodes has a bigger career than steven fletcher so 8 million is good value, the guy breeds goals.

99 goals at 22 years of age, even the greats who came through the lower leagues did not match that did they? Bully was 24 when he got there and aldridge was 26.

Don't think we sold fletcher and Jarvis cheaply (if anything over priced). I think all this proves is that Blackburn are stupid with their money.

Apparently he has gone for 4.5m and add-ons take it up to 8m. I'm quite dissapointed we haven't put a bid in for him.

That maybe true but how old was Owen when he was truely finished 26-27. Some start late and finish late.

The list of players who scored profusely at L1 and L2, and failed to make the step up, is quite a long one.

£8m is a lot to pay by a Championship side. (Wondering what the record is?) And for a player on the up rather than established like Fletcher. I hope they manage to sell lots of chickens.

Sorry. But if he was OUR player we'd put the same value on him.. Like we put the fee 4 Fletch high. 2 deter suitors.. Robbie went for 6-million? N tht ws 1999? So considering his goals etc. Plus the fact they didn't wana lose him. The price is fair.. Didn't Sunderland pay tht 4 Wickham?

£6m in 1999 was massive. Someone of Keane's status today would fetch £15m like Rodwell or Joe Allen.

Those Boukari brothers are good aren;t they. You've got two crocks in there at present - our squad is really thin {Ed011's Note - Haha I know, it's just Boukari is able to play either wing and up front and without seeing him I'm not sure if he'd displace Peszko.

Well FC Copenhagen lost 2 Lille tonight. Wonder if we'll go 4 any of there players? Wht players have we been linked with from them ED? Remember some being mentioned.

SS said at todays press conference that there were no more offers for any other players at the moment. He did not rule out another possible incoming player.

I can see some of the current squad being loaned out (Hunt? Edwards?) and perhaps a deadline day transfer deal for Doyle or Ward. Maybe a loan move or two to Wolves also?

If we play useless ward again we should loose every game we play

What did you watch? The countless times he missed? We need proven players who have played here? Henri camara anyone? {Ed011's Note - What are you trying to say? Henri Camara was fan's Player of the Season!! Granted he abandoned us and jumped ship but in regards to playing ability you've picked a bad example. Besides Bakary Sako is a different story, although you may not have heard of him he's a relatively well known player that we've beaten a number of quality teams too from around Europe including Lille and Stuttgart who were both interested in him according to the Express and Star and I've heard other names from different sources including Genoa who were seriously interested in him. Besides he was playing for a top 6 team in Ligue 1, which may not be the greatest division it is still well known for producing good footballers, I mean look at Tongo Doumbia! He was relatively unheard of and if he continues playing like he has done he could be our Player of this Season this season!!

Is that your rant over. What I'm trying to say is where are the home grown players? New manager no English players. There are thousands of good players here. Look what happened to portsmouth

{Ed011's Note - We aren't Portsmouth, we'll stay financially sound. Look at Arsenal, look at Chelsea if we're going to play that game, they both won the Premier League with mainly foreign players. Solbakken doesn't know our leagues as well as others but he will do soon. At the moment we're signing players that he and his scouts will have kept an eye on for a while but now he's playing in England he'll start looking at players from our leagues too but they are generally over priced; look at Fletcher and Jarvis for an example of that and we've signed 7 players for £11million, possibly rising to about £16m/£17m if we sign up Peszko and Doumbia permanently where we sold three English/Scottish players for £27million.

You have missed the point. You keep talking about these other players. Wolves were always best with homegrown players

We have been playing mostly home grown players for the past 3 years and we all know how that went. This kind of thing really gets me sometimes, it might take some people players a while to adapt, but a good player is a good player wherever he is.

Looking at the players we have brought recently I don't think we will sign a striker because: Sako can play as a striker as well as Boukari. Looking at what Stale has said it is clear that Sako is one player that he belives will be special so i wouldn't be surprised to see him in an attacking midfielder/striker sort of role. But at the same time that is more of Siguardsons role. so who knows? If say Doyle leaves then another striker is possible. What Stale has done is bring in players who can create chances lets just hope someone uses them.

Doyle is an enigma...he isn't a midfielder nor a striker. Give him a partner who knows where the net is or flog him and let the new attacking midfielders do his role. It's fine holding the ball up but if there's no one to pass to and your own bottle/eye for goal has deserted you what's the point?

Kenwyne medical done, fee agreed and personal terms are very very close. Should sign tomorrow.

We are in for Barry Ferguson too but the Jordan Rhodes deal looks dead. Huddersfield wanted 4mil, we valued him at 2.4mil. Poles apart.

Not a rumour really but a possibility. I wonder: if Celtic get through to the group stages after tonight's game, if they will then immediately put in a bid for Berra? The extra income would be available for them to make a couple of purchases and I understand that Monkey Heed is interested in Berra. Thoughts? Doncaster Wolf

How on earth did Morgan not spend money? 5th largest net spenders in our 3 years in prem. The problem was Mccarthy wasted an awful lot of it.
