Read somewhere that John De Wolf was an option. He has not managed since 2014 but should be considered for a coaching role by the new manager. He is a highly regarded pundit but could be tempted back to the club. We need someone who can work with the defenders and improve them.

28 Oct 2016 23:46:02
Jas I think you need to forget sentiment after all he suggested Gladon and that hasn't turned out well so far.
We need to be realistic we are in a poor position and could do with experience I've gone t a feeling it will be McDermott not mentioned yet but still out there.

29 Oct 2016 00:31:30
Darbowolf. I'm not suggesting De Wolf as manager or head coach. I'm suggesting him as a defensive coach to work under the new manager.

29 Oct 2016 00:35:00
Also, we can't really judge Gladon after 1 game played for us.

29 Oct 2016 10:13:53
The more I think about it and read about him, I wouldn't be dissappointed if Rob Edwards was given the chance.

From what Coady has said in the E&S, he plays pressing determined football, Sounds like the players will give their everything for him. let's see what the performance is like this afternoon but if he does well in the next 2 games I will have no qualms him being the man.

29 Oct 2016 10:23:59
Why has nobody thought about Chris Houghton?

29 Oct 2016 10:34:59
Let's see how they get on today and I think Thelwell will be taking his time on this one. For the first time he could be held directly responsible for this decision.
One thing is we could do with a win today and probably won't get an easier chance.

29 Oct 2016 10:45:27
Stuu I remember the players talkin terry Conor up, look what happened, of course coady and others want a mate in charge! Be very uninspiring if that was Fosuns decision.

29 Oct 2016 11:09:18
Sometimes in life the answer is right under your nose! Edwards probably has two games anyway, then the international break, so let's see. If we win those games he could make a good caretaker coach until Big Sam is ready in January, if Sam's interested in the Wolves job. We should know by then if he's facing disciplinary proceedings.

I definitely wouldn't rule out Edwards for the permanent job either. The likes of Eddie Howe had to start somewhere, and Edwards knows the club inside out. Unlike Zenga, he is fully aware of our youngsters.

29 Oct 2016 13:18:08
I see what your saying Paul. I think Connor is different because it's obvious he's not a manager, where as Edwards could eventually make it as a manager. I'd prefer big Sam. But wouldn't be hugely disappointed if Edwards Pearson Pearce AVB ect got the job. I do think there are a few options out there.

01 Nov 2016 16:55:38
Yes, Edwards is a good stopgap, perhaps even more. As long as the Board or Thewell do not have a knee jerk reaction Since MM we've put up with three such reactions, four including Connor. We cannot afford another bad decision following the disaster that was Zenga. The names being put forward have rarely, if ever been successes, so why continue the habit of employing someone who has no real track record. Leave Rob Edwards there - he's certainly as good or better than Lambert, Freedman, Pearson and the rest [apart from Sam] all of whom have never set the footie world alight!

28 Oct 2016 06:47:27
WM reporting Pearson already interviewed. Too volatile for my liking? .

28 Oct 2016 06:59:23
Also he just isn't good enough! So what he saved Leicester after a great escape. If he was that good there would have been no need for an escape! Phil Neville for me.

28 Oct 2016 09:05:51
So let me get this right. You'd prefer someone with no experience over someone who has a promotion from this league. Pearson may be volatile but he has the experience of this league.

28 Oct 2016 10:23:41
Pearson is clear favourite with the bookies this morning. If it's Pearson for the job, I won't like it, but maybe it's what we need.

Someone said Doughie Freedman has the job but this just looks like guesswork now.

Does anybody actually know anything or are we just following the bookies' odds?

28 Oct 2016 10:28:52
Pearson wouldn't be my 1st choice but certainly better than 50% of the names that have been banded around.
Would prefer Big Sam.
Wouldnt say Pearsons a bad choice but will do a job for now.

28 Oct 2016 10:34:29
Not good enough!? He had an amazing season with Leicester, won the league in his second season (by a landslide! ) And got them to play offs in his first season of his second spell, a no brainer for me!

28 Oct 2016 11:07:31
I thought Freedman had got the job anyway lol.

28 Oct 2016 11:40:50
So you'd much rather an unproven manager. Why not stick with Edwards then?

28 Oct 2016 11:57:53
I wouldn't read too much into Pearson being interviewed. I imagine there will be others as well.

Also, regarding Phil Neville, I can't see anything in his track record that makes me agree with you. I would be interested in your reasons for this suggestion.

28 Oct 2016 13:43:38
Its pretty obvious that Pearson Freedman and Ince have applied for the job and Wilmots has been recommended by Mendes doesn't mean any of them will get the job. Looks like Thelwell been given the task to recruit Walters replacement it will either make or break him! I would like to throw a name out, has a very good managerial record including English clubs, plays decent football and is available, Martin Jol, at least give him an interview Kev.

28 Oct 2016 15:28:35
Paul Lambert is supposed to be in the frame. I would be against him, he had a good record before going to villa and Blackburn and it was more the way the clubs were run at the time. Could redeem himself at wolves maybe.

28 Oct 2016 16:08:27
Well if names are being thrown in I would offer up Jean Tigana. Got Fulham promoted from this division and established in the prem playing great football.

28 Oct 2016 16:19:23
Mendes wants Wilmots, Silva, Perreira or Zola and Shi wants a British man like Big Sam or Pearson who would upset the applecart. He basically has to be careful not to risk losing all of the players Mendes is currently bringing in, so Mendes wins, for now.

28 Oct 2016 17:01:02
No he doesn't win as Thelwell has been put in charge of finding a manage.
What players would we lose worth worrying about? Costa is about the only one.

28 Oct 2016 17:38:01
What about Nigel Adkins look at what he did with Southampton?

28 Oct 2016 18:09:04
Martin Jol?
Nigel Adkins?
Good shouts.
Forget Freedman, Ince and Co.
No foreigners either unless they are prepared to move home here.

28 Oct 2016 20:17:23
Big Sam says he won't take a club until next year what a shame 😔.

28 Oct 2016 23:49:35
Ian Holloway has the best track record in championship. surely he's worth an approach. regardless of what went on with KJ.

29 Oct 2016 10:15:03
Ian Holloway.

Id rather Tony Mowbray.

29 Oct 2016 22:19:44
Ex baggie no thanks.
