Wolves are definately trying to push through a player swop with Celtic for Griffiths. It is believed the club are happy with a straight swop with an unnamed player. Kayal and MacGregor both mentioned but as Mac has resigned for Notts County this seems unlikely. My source tells me that it could well be a different player that's name has not yet appeared on the radar of the press, but is a 1st team regular at Parkhead and may take some persuading to join a League 1 club. My source also tells me that Celtic do not have a huge amount of financial clout and it is believed that they would not be able to go much higher than around £600k in cash for the player. Hence the fact that Wolves feel they are very much in the 'box seat' with this deal.
Expect the deal to be resolved one way or the other by Thursday.

If Griff and Doyle go then surely we can get better than Clarke.Someone who would be useful in the Championship.

If a player can be useful in the Championship then it's likely they will be playing at that level already, or will be signed by a team that is.

In L1 it's harder to attract these kinds of player. We can take a punt on a younger player, but don't we have so-called rising stars in Siggy, Liam and Cass already?

Yes, we can pay up for good players. But history has shown this isn't necessarily the best strategy, because players tend to become lazy if they are on a good wage relative to the level.

Best to buy once with quality than buy now and have to buy again next year. In weeks time we should be back in the Championship the potential purchase would see this and be part in something special.

Wolves ins/outs:

Ins:

Leon Clarke - 600k- 1 Mil
Or
Scott Hogan - 500k- 1 Mil
Alex Pritchard - 1 Mil

Outs:

Griffiths to Celtic - 1 Mil

Another winner for jez, watch this space, Celtic have been told put up or shut up.the jezminator strikes again.

What is your source?

Celtic fan here, (wolves is my 2nd team)
Just can't see Griffiths getting a game for Celtic . A lot of the fans don't want him due to the baggage he comes with. As for a swap with Kayal I can't see it as Kayal is a far superior player.
All the best for rest of season

How do other club fans know this rumour site? It's nice having the odd one being nice but I hate the Forrest fans mocking Sako (although he ain't the most consistent player) he's still better than all the Forrest players. O WAIT THEY'RE ALL WOLVES CAST-OFFS

Whats going on karl henry scores 4 qpr

Sweeeeeeeeet 0-3 told you we in touch cum jan we will kick on march 29 massive day put it in your diaries mk dons 0- Wolverhampton wanderers 5 10000 plus wolves believe. wolvesayewe. The realist/optimist

Anyone see Clarke was on bench didn't even play get the impression that means he's coming to us

Gota say don't really want him would much rather loan fryatt with the option to make permanent if we go up and he fits in well

Also I agree with the Celtic fan don't think he would but as Lennon said he is young and can be trained and made better and I can only see his attitude eating better up Scotland with his millions of children kayal would be great doubt he'd come though and tbh as long as McDonald price and Evans keeping for and playing well not sure were he would play

I'd much rather try and buy Pritchard from spurs and loan fryatt

Well see exciting times and great result

Clarke not on bench tonight

I really would love Pritchard at wolves, I wouldn't mind Commons from Celtic for a swap for griffiths and a million, but if we can get commons we might aswell get RONALDO and messi. I know we will never get commons, he's too good for us and to essential for Celtic

Somebody called Claeke (24) was on the bench for Coventry.

I'm sure I typed CLARKE.

Coventry's number 24 is Jordan Clarke and he was on the bench last night. Leon Clarke was not in the party.

To all the people knocking Clarke and saying he is not good enough Lambert & Holt. 2 big strong centre forwards who had become journey men in the lower leagues that hit the form of there careers around 30. So if we purchase him give him a chance and see if he is good enough.

It was Jordan Clarke

Not leon

Clarke was on the bench as posted in my previous comment! Unused sub tho

Clarke has a foot injury, he was not on the bench!

Clarke got injured against arsenal at end of the game, heel I think. That's why he wasn't playing or on bench.

Brilliant so if we do buy him well buy an injured player.

Would anyone else not prefer trying to loan Matt fryatt with option to make permanent?

Not really our choice thou is it

I'm going to work on the basis that every signing KJ has made so far has been a good one, so if thinks Clarke is the right fit for us then fine with me.

Stephen Fletcher has been injured before all of his transfers, it's something players do to get their current club to let them go as they are not playing anyway!

If Clarke isn't injured, then surely he would have been doing us a favour by playing against Orient last night and trying to take some points off them?

29 Jan 2014 12:49:51
And if he got seriously injured he would not be soldCoventry are playing the game they need the money, he will come!

Read the E and S Leon faining injury last night to get his move, as I previously said!

Confirmed by Wolves fee agreed

Celtic fan here. How dare the OP says we don't have financial clout, take the last 2 seasons. Last year we qualified for CL last 16 which equates to £25 million, sold wanyama £12.5 million, Hooper £5.5 million, Wilson for a couple of million. This year £15 million from CL,

The Leon Clarke deal is not 'dead' and will probably go through in the latter part of the week. One of the stumbling blocks has been that when Clarke handed in his transfer request at Coventry it was NOT a move to Wolves he was trying to push through. It was an unnamed Championship club. Indeed Clarke initially had reservations about a return to Molineux, mainly his uneasy relationship with the South Bank. Including an incident where Clarke was investigated by police for an attack on a Wolves season ticket holder in a nightclub in Worcester.
Clarke has been assured that this is all in the past and that his improved character and workrate will help him settle back into Molineux quickly. Expect this deal on Thurs/Fri.

E&S suggesting Jackett really wants Clarke but it doesn't look like we're not yet offering enough. If we do sign Clarke I can see two strikers going.

Griff is pretty certain to go to Celtic once we can agree terms, and Doyle will likely be the other exit, I guess. We don't hear much about Siggy.

Sako looks like he's staying.

Siggy will stay, moxey won't let him go he's got too much potential

I really want Alex Pritchard!
