My friend in Valencia has just messaged me that the local papers have announced Nuno as the Wolves manager.

26 May 2017 16:57:29
FANTASTIC NEWS! REJOICE WOLVES FANS REJOICE! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸΊπŸΊπŸΊπŸΊπŸΊπŸΊπŸΊπŸΊπŸΊ.

26 May 2017 17:05:33
Hope this is true. Quite like the look of him.

26 May 2017 17:07:38
I'm at work at the mo but will send the link later, will have to get Google to translate it πŸ‘.

26 May 2017 17:08:33
I live in Spain and cannot find anything does your friend have a link or name of the paper?

26 May 2017 17:36:45
Nuno would walk into a mid table premier league job.

Great coup if true and would vindicate fosun model as well as killing the Lambert debate.

26 May 2017 18:34:50
It's superdeporte. es. However I think my Spanish friend has got a bit too excited as it translates to Nuno close to commiting to Wolves. Stand by your beds chaps πŸ™„.

26 May 2017 18:50:00
Wish I could get worked up about this! His connection with Mendes was his undoing in his second season at Valencia if you read the articles about it. Over expensive Mendes players that didn't perform and otomendi off to Man City. Doesn't boss well for the future if this happens all over again. Football agents should NOT be allowed to determine transfers. In this case his involvement is a clear conflict of interest. Hmmm! πŸ‘ŽπŸ˜‚.

26 May 2017 18:57:24
WOLVESCOAST get used to the modern way of runnin a footy team, this guys credentials are far better than our level so definitely a step up. If he fails move him on and start again! Why you worrying about it? It's not your money! Enjoy the ride! And please don't tell me keepin Lambert would be better? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

26 May 2017 18:57:32
East Park yes a rehash of what is in many papers here. Basically discussions on going but the reporter Carlos Boshe is a well respected sports reporter here in Spain.

26 May 2017 19:00:20
Steady on chaps, don't believe everything you read in the newspapers, even local Spanish ones. The psychologists have a term for it, it's called "confirmation bias". Meaning, if you really want something to happen and believe it will, you will ignore all evidence to the contrary, and attach added biased importance to any evidence that backs you up.

26 May 2017 21:11:04
Marco Silva signed for Watford.

26 May 2017 21:43:23
Until its done . that's all i'm saying.

26 May 2017 22:48:21
PT please inform us of other clubs that have football agents determining who their clubs hire or fire the players!? I can't think of any managers that would put up with that crap, can you? Unless you mean our club! βš½οΈπŸ‘πŸ˜‰.

27 May 2017 05:17:12
Who knows what goes on behind closed doors at other clubs? Football agents have been screwing owners over for years! We have got a conglomerate worth over 40billion owning us, remember it's Fosun who own part of Mendes agency not the other way round, so when they pay the agent their basically payin money into their own pot. U want to start thanking Mendes instead of slaggin him so much as he helped get the Fosun deal over the line! They've only been here 12 months give them a break and enjoy the ride πŸ‘. With these owners it won't be borin, if the manager/ coach fails their gone! They certainly won't let the club stagnate like the previous owner! Roll on August! πŸ‘.

27 May 2017 06:49:29
One problem with what you are saying here PT. The money is spent by the Club not Fosun and the debt accrued lies with the Club. If Fosun decide to walk away WW could go bust. Let's hope their commitment is total.

27 May 2017 08:06:08
If Chelsea, man city etc owners walk away their screwed! But with owners like theirs and ours there is no debt! If sky and bt walk away loads of teams are screwed! Enjoy these billionaire owners and tv deals while they are here. πŸ‘ Hey we could be dead tomorrow.

{Ed001's Note - Chelsea and Man City's owners (ownership groups in the case of Citeh) have been pumping money in simply to put the clubs into a position where they would be self-sufficient in the event of them leaving. Now TV revenue is a different matter, that would be a problem if that went down, but live streaming rights are likely to overtake that income stream soon enough anyway.}

27 May 2017 08:42:28
Thanks for that ed I think u get my jist. Let's hope Fosun do the same for us as Citeh are doin. πŸ‘ We're certainly in a better position to achieve that than under Morgan's guidance.

{Ed001's Note - I know mate, just being pedantic. I can't help it at times.}

27 May 2017 09:29:59
Good job your only pedantic at times Ed or with majority of the posts on here you'd never be off the board πŸ˜‚.

{Ed001's Note - that's a good point. I do often have to grit my teeth and ignore what is said!}

27 May 2017 09:52:56
wollabby you're wobbling. Get real man. Fosun have tens of millions invested in Wolves. There's far more available when they can invest without breaking financial rules in football. There's no way that Fosun would walk away from a massive investment. Anyway, the Chinese are not like that in business. The loss of face would be dishonourable for them. Paul Lambert was my choice for Wolves. He had five months and a transfer window. But, he couldn't finish any higher than Kenny Jackett at his worst. It right that we move on as Fosun have big plans for Wolves.

27 May 2017 10:48:19
Let's not forget the whole point of Steve Morgan selling the club for Β£10 was on the basis they had to invest Β£30m within 2 years so by rights they cannot claim that 30m back.

27 May 2017 10:49:49
LMAO ignore my last post I got confused with sir jack.

27 May 2017 11:42:35
Wolvescoast, you say it went wrong in his second season at Valencia when mendes started tonget involved.

In his first season at Valencia when they finished 4th mendes provided him with 7 players and on 3 in his second season.

At Porto mendes has provided him with 6 players this season. They have work together at every club he has been at and nuno gets he beat out the players he has been provided.

He could get a mid table prem team, but the mendes factor for him is what making him drop to the championship and see the bigger picture where the club wants to go under Fosun.

27 May 2017 11:47:16
I think fosun will make an announcement on Thursday lambert out Nuno santo in that's a great result he and mendes will bring in quality players it doesn't matter if there used to the championship or not if there top players they should b able to play anywhere.

27 May 2017 13:05:24
Aim high score high. Wolves can build a team to not only win promotion but be good enough to stay in the Premier League. That's the no 1 aim this summer. Do you trust Lambert to do it or Mendes/ Santo?

Lambert buys Hugill, Weimann, Hanley

Mendes buys Neves, Bruma etc.

26 May 2017 12:36:13
New man wants Bas Dost would cost 16 mil + don't think fosun will do it monster of a player mind.

26 May 2017 13:00:11
He won't come to championship he more likely to go mid table prem club.

26 May 2017 13:00:40
Funny post 666.start of the weekend here we go.

26 May 2017 14:02:38
OK 666 where did you get that from?

26 May 2017 14:25:57
Where did you see that hwrk666? I agree he certainly knows where the net is Das Bost that is. That would make a change for us at the front. Someone who can actually put the ball in the net! Can't see this happening though. He's more likely to be off to the prem. βš½οΈπŸ‘πŸ˜‰.

26 May 2017 14:27:05
Sorry that was Bas Dost. Predictive text again! πŸ˜‰.

26 May 2017 07:40:36
Wolves linked with santo what u think.

26 May 2017 08:23:54
Just looked at his playing record and managerial record. Not great reading I'm afraid.

26 May 2017 09:08:37
If its him we need to give him a chance, problem is we are now back to square one again. A whole season lost, no lessons learned. But maybe, just maybe he will click and get us out of this league into the promised land.

26 May 2017 09:26:09
Another Mendes disaster in the making. Expect his troops to fall in then fall out again next year. Not impressed with his involvement at all. πŸ‘ŽπŸ˜’.

26 May 2017 09:40:17
Banbury, took a second rate team up and got Valencia into the champions league. Also got Porto to finish second losing two games all year. that's not good enough?

26 May 2017 10:06:10
I'm not optimistic, a combination of Santo and Mendes could be a disaster. Look at his second season with Valencia when he and Mendes brought in a load of 2nd rate Portugese players. Valencia in chaos and fans not impressed [compounded when they then appointed Gary Neville! ].

26 May 2017 10:08:02
His credentials are far higher than where we are now! Imo a positive move from Fosun πŸ‘.

26 May 2017 10:09:25
@banburywolf? How is his managerial record not good enough?

26 May 2017 10:11:16
Are you jokein what he's done in football at the age of 43 lol clsss.

26 May 2017 10:16:29
I can't believe some of the negative comments above. Santo is a disaster? We're not Barcelona you know. Santo is class, in fact probably the classiest coach we have been linked with. His record is easily good enough for Wolves. We will be lucky to get him.

26 May 2017 10:15:11
I don't know. I've given up for the time being!

26 May 2017 10:32:51
His time at Rio Ave was incredible, he led Valencia to a good finish in Spain and finished 2nd with Porto? Somebody tell me a better manager that we could attract?
Win % of 47% over his 3 jobs. Can't believe some of our fans think it will be a bad appointment?! Yes I'd never heard of him before he was mentioned and when I 1st heard his name I thought not another Zenga! But after research about him it filled me with excitement.

26 May 2017 10:37:16
It looks like a positive move until you see all the involvement from Mendes, then it all starts to get very murky. My preferred candidate from the Portuguese shores was always Marco Silva. There's something about that coach that tells me he's got what it takes quite apart from the fact he has a good track record. Can't wait for another influx of Portuguese players, most of whom have no experience in our leagues. HC was an exception to that I admit, but we had to pay good money for him and that by and large is the gist of it - to get good players they cost! We need various additions to the team, most of whom will cost money if they are proven and quality. Just can't see us getting off this roundabout whilst Mendes has the level of involvement he appears to have?! I want to be optimistic, but find myself being more realistic. The cup is half full, but while he still has involvement the other half is still half empty! :-)

26 May 2017 11:04:56
Lol not here even 12 months and it's mendes this that. do you won't to go and look how many players we got that was on his books? O the class 2 wingers no one ever heard of. broke records twice in a week lol some of you need to chill . we had 3 weeks to get players in and a manger. some worked ie Costa cav even silvo in 3 games. John was injured . wot as mendes done so rung. now if we only got 3 players you all would be saying were the money your ripping us off. just can't win. just like nuno never heard of him but did you costa rav Swiss? Tbf I like prince tho he was growing each game 'him or savil? . give them time they even said 3 years and a 10 year plan. chill you beans lads. could be a Coventry fan.

26 May 2017 12:10:10
For me santo sounds a great appointment if we get him he's by far the best we've had for along time I think he's got a good track record with Valencia and Porto it was when Neville was manager that things went wrong for Valencia santo left before that he should b able to attract quality players to wolves.

26 May 2017 13:02:26
Anyone who has read my posts will know my views on Mendes so I will not repeat them again. But I must disagree with you Dappa about two class wingers - Cav, as far as I an concerned is a waste of Β£7m. He does not have the desire, workrate or attitude and thinks he's Ronaldo with his step overs, with poor final ball.

Also Saiss is a walking yellow card who keeps giving the ball away. Price and Evans can do that! Costa was the only successful signing last season.

26 May 2017 14:03:56
StattoWolf I have to totally disagree with you on cav. You either don't watch many games or youcertainly do not watch his movement off the ball both offensively and defensively. Costa may have had much more of an impact in terms of goals etc. But honestly the work rate between them is totally different Costa struggles working back defensively but Cav is always willing to bust a gut to help out at the back. At first he wasn't but his learned that side of the game. Also just like I heard many fans when Costa first came into the team saying he was too lightweight and wasn't good enough but he proved them wrong. Many people seem to forget that Cav played a lage portion of games carrying an injury such was his desire to play! and his influence when he came back into the team fit was a defining moment in us staying up from a personal point of view. Not just from his own performance but the lift he provided to those around him as Costa even upped his game back to his standards after a bit of a bad spell. Those two fully fit will be a complete menace next season. Also in terms of his desire, work rate and attitude against forest at home coady may well get accredited with the block on the line but don't underestimate Cavs part in the fact he raced his nuts off to get back and then flung himself into a challenge to stop the initial effort allowing coady time to get back. As fantastic as costa has been he would never have done the same as Cav in that situation. But I suppose that's because Cav has no desire no workrate and a poor attitude.

26 May 2017 14:24:04
Imo Saiss is a red card waiting to happen.

26 May 2017 15:53:31
Sbrek, we will have to agree to disagree about Cav. I have seen plenty of matches where he has not had the desire to chase back, where he has been doing step over after step over and then not getting crosses in (which is his job as a winger) . I am not saying he has been awful in every game, but over the course of the season he has not shown consistency and there have been plenty of games where he has been anonymous.

He has not impressed me with his desire or end product and his red card just summed up that he was not ready to roll his sleeves up to help the team.

26 May 2017 16:09:53
So price side passing Edwards with out goals headless chicken' savil ect have done better that mendes signing come on . its there first seasingle in UK and thay would easy be the first two looked at to be sold. red card saiss lol I remmber we loved Kevin mustcst.

26 May 2017 17:56:52
Like I said, I've not been impressed. Saiss loses the ball too often and is sloppy in possession. His first touch has been poor leading to reckless tackles and bookings. Just saying that he has been no better than what we have got. Again, my opinion. Would prefer to see Oniangue given a run, at least he got on the scoresheet.

Plus I don't think that Mendes is his agent and I definitely didn't name Saville in my post as he is heading for my Worst Alltime XI!

26 May 2017 23:07:05
Fair enough statto each to their own opinion, but I think you put cav in a good footballing system and you'd see how good he can be as he did make a huge difference when he came back from injury and has huge potential, I wouldn't say his red card against derby was not wanting to roll his sleeves up more so frustration and stupidity. As concerns the crossing situation half the time there's no one in the box and the other half the time it's 4ft Dicko against 6 ft odd centre halves and given the goal scoring record of our strikers last season I'd refuse to put the ball in the box!

27 May 2017 08:34:53
If we can keep Costa we have 4 quality wingers dying for a new striker to get on the end of their crosses and build up play. RW Costa or Marshall LW Cav or Graham. Looks good to me!
