Just had 100% confirmation that Kenny Jackett is to stay on as head coach. will be confirmed tomorrow at the press conference.
Remember where you heard it first.

24 Jul 2016 22:42:04
Wolves want Silva and players lined up for Wolverhampton.

24 Jul 2016 22:46:55
No chance.

24 Jul 2016 22:55:40
Course you have. someone who was in the meeting has just confirmed to you at 10.20 on a Sunday night. now roll over and go back to sleep. it was just a dream.

24 Jul 2016 22:59:25
Or 100% it will be Marco Silva or Steve Bruce or Roberto Martinez or Ryan Giggs or Frank De Boer.

The only 100% is that we will have to wait till Monday.

24 Jul 2016 23:16:33
You had 100% confirmation that the takeover was off a couple of weeks ago.

24 Jul 2016 22:56:51
Borin'el!

25 Jul 2016 06:31:05
Guys just on bbc news jacket could be still in charge, but hopefully we will all know today.

25 Jul 2016 06:58:06
well if they keep jacket they have such low ambitions and I for one will not be paying good money to watch crap football from a overated poor manager.

25 Jul 2016 07:20:25
100%. you will see today.

25 Jul 2016 08:00:26
What time is the press conference Today?

25 Jul 2016 08:05:11
Wolves011 it's at 12 mate.

25 Jul 2016 08:17:23
Felix - Where's your proof? What's your source?

25 Jul 2016 08:20:08
Let's face it you don't have to be in the know to guess that KJ will stay. Their plan A has failed and until Plan B is possible I guess we're left with KJ. Would love it to be someone more high profile to attract good players but I guess we will have to wait for that. Silva sounds like a good bet but would he come to us - maybe money does talk? All will be revealed at mid-day and either way I'm still behind the team that I hope will be evolving throughout the season.

25 Jul 2016 09:07:01
I am wondering if there is any way I can listen to the press conference.

25 Jul 2016 09:35:54
I wonder if KJ will be given three months while they get Silva up to speed with language and players.

25 Jul 2016 09:37:46
Melbourne official site says no live streaming.

25 Jul 2016 09:46:47
No rumours coming out of Melbourne but my dad in Shrewsbury is not a Bruce fan
He would rather retain Jackett than Bruce.

25 Jul 2016 09:57:27
Just spoke to someone who works in the club and he reckons they want steve bruce and that kj has been in for a short meeting this morning and has left the ground again. May or may not be true as person who I had this off is not involved in team affairs. We'll see. UTW.

25 Jul 2016 10:21:30
Thanks Victory
I can tunnel into the U. K. If there is a site I can get on to
Would you have a link?
Cheers mate.

25 Jul 2016 10:58:54
Anyone know if press conference is being broadcast on local radio and which one so as I can stream it down here in London. Thanks.

25 Jul 2016 11:01:27
Melbourne, you can followit as live as they can make it on Twitter Express and Lie site Tim Spiers.

25 Jul 2016 11:24:23
Well if Jacket is deciding on the squad to go to Northampton tomoz then he's still in charge.

25 Jul 2016 12:18:45
Oh dear, Kenny Jackett has the 'full backing' of Fosun.

25 Jul 2016 12:47:33
Well I guess now rumours will turn to players we may be getting. KJ maybe here for now but not sure if him and Mendes and his players will be able to work together. Hopefully we can get the players in this week or next and hopefully by October/ November they can be gelled together and have enough time to win the league.

25 Jul 2016 12:49:02
Give kenny a chance . He has done a good job considering the financial constraints opposed on him. He has also bought through academy players into the first team. Surely this is a model we want to keep seeing with the addition of quality. Footballers are not exactly the easiest to deal with and kmac is clearly in that mould.

25 Jul 2016 12:57:08
Jeff Chi seems like a real dude. I am still amazed at him keeping Jackett and Therwell but can't see this lasting unless he gets Wolves into the play offs.

You can tell also that the 20-30 million figure is a load of rubbish, Fosun are loaded and won't be afraid to spend big at the right times.

25 Jul 2016 13:37:34
I think regardless of how long they plan on keeping jackett they obviously want to support him and so should we then. I know last season the football was uninspiring to say the least but yeah the excuses were there lack of players lack or support financially injuries etc. But now he can have none if they are going to give him the support they've pledged so let's get behind him. His proved two out of his three seasons he can do a decent job with the right resources so let's give him the chance and not forgetting it won't be an instant change as we still need to sign the players and let them gel. Personally its encouraging from the new owners as they obviously lost their plan a in lopetegui and rather then making a rash decision and rushing a plan b they are taking their time to think it through thoroughly. I'm not jacketts biggest fan but I'll get behind him and the team no matter what as negativity only breeds more negativity we saw that the two consecutive relegations with the bad harmony at the club stemming from the likes of Johnson and O'Hara. Right now we have a lot more positives to take from the takeover then we do negatives as long as they stick to what they've said their plans are.

25 Jul 2016 12:47:31
This will be short term without a doubt. 3-12 months IMO.

25 Jul 2016 14:27:18
Sbrek spot on mate.

25 Jul 2016 14:30:46
You could tell Chi was devastated about Lopetegui 'cos decent European managers are hard to come by or tie down to long contracts over here. He also must have been sounding out Wilmots and Silver over the last couple of weeks but didn't have the time or they were unable to move to England at such short notice. Steve Bruce probably wanted a couple of months break after Hull and was unavailable for interview.

As for Jackett, he's a very lucky man but I don't realistically expect him to stay past Christmas and this should give Chi enough time to find what he wanted originally.

25 Jul 2016 14:33:48
Kmac deal already in place prior to take over and told to go by higher than KJ so transfer money received goes to old owner.

25 Jul 2016 14:39:04
Felixthecat bringing you the news before it comes out. thanks everyone.

25 Jul 2016 16:34:47
Ajwolf,
Sorry, Kmac's transfer fee goes to Wolves, not Morgan. Morgan was 100% shareholder in Wolves but never drew a salary as chairman nor dividend as shareholder. He sold his 100% shareholding and the Kmac transfer fee makes no difference to what Morgan gets.

25 Jul 2016 19:31:15
Kj playing the way he did was due to the players he had at his disposal can't expect to try and play Tika taka style with the options available after losing players we did judge him on if he gets players capable of playing good football.

24 Jul 2016 21:52:15
Portuguese sports news channel reporting that Wolves are after Marco Silva.

goo.gl/bNBFjG

Can anyone translate the main talking points on the video?

24 Jul 2016 22:19:18
Don't have a clue mate all I could understand think it's Wolverhampton enquire for Marco silva think it's falling for julen lopetegiu name was underneath Wolverhampton take a look mate.

24 Jul 2016 22:20:55
Yes I am half Portuguese on my mothers side.

He is saying that Marco Silva has agreed to join wolves on a four your contract, on the understanding that he can bring Terry Connor in with him.

24 Jul 2016 22:22:48
Saw it earlier someone translated we had offered a contract to him. Seen some reports he has rejected it but not 100% they are correct.

24 Jul 2016 22:25:10
Potruges very different to Spanish but in essense they are saying that Wolves asperations are Premiership football and Siva is the man they want to take them their as part of the new project. Sorry but cannot help any further.

24 Jul 2016 22:27:23
These are the sort of posts we need hope Sumone can translate what they are talking about.

24 Jul 2016 22:30:19
He had supposed to have declined due to lack of English language.

24 Jul 2016 22:33:38
Head lines. Translates Wolves would like Marco Silva.

24 Jul 2016 23:00:17
Translates Silva offered 4year contract Costa Caverlero Pele
In next few days will be at Wolverhampton for major project.

24 Jul 2016 23:34:35
Hasn't he already blown us out stating a lack of English language As the problem.
Hoping we move on quickly.

25 Jul 2016 08:21:44
Oh come on, language not going to be a problem. These lads have listened to double-Dutch for the last season! They will cope.

24 Jul 2016 16:26:12
Wolves look like they're about to take Ola John from Benfica on loan. Was at reading last season.

24 Jul 2016 16:37:17
Yeh seen that so it seems jackett staying boo hoo.

24 Jul 2016 17:00:10
If Jackett stays then the takeover is pointless.
He is one of the most inept Managers I have ever seen.
Shambles.

HE MUST GO TO GIVE A TOP MANAGER A GO AT GETTING US UP.

Then we can progress.

24 Jul 2016 17:17:53
Alex ferguson then.

24 Jul 2016 17:25:16
@Paulwolfpa - how can we attract a top manger if we're a championship club? we need to be realistic about who is appointed. I'd say Steve Bruce as he knows the league. Martinez is a bluffer who has been exposed. Badly.

24 Jul 2016 17:58:25
Jackett won't be going anywhere, he will get to at least November. He will be given the opportunity to bring in players this month, most of which will be loan deals. The new owners will then bring in their own man who will be given significant funds.

24 Jul 2016 17:49:46
I just don't get why we keep being linked to these glamourous coaches and players, yet on the other hand here about Jackett staying. If Jackett is staying, why do I keep reading about Bruce and Silver taking over on every other web site? Makes no sense.

Do people keep saying this just to wind everybody up? I can't believe for one minute the new owners are content with the manager and playing staff we currently have at Wolves. Please only post if you have genuine information.

24 Jul 2016 17:57:27
Today we've had 4 different stories;
1. Bruce to be announced tomorrow, bringing three players with him (Sako and two Wigan players)
2. Marc Wilmots to come in with some Spanish ones
3. Marco Silva announced tomorrow with original 4-5 'European' players
4. Jackett definitely stays with some average signings

Now come on, which one is telling fibs?

24 Jul 2016 18:19:22
I'd love number 3 but got bad feeling it'll be number 4!

24 Jul 2016 18:33:02
If it is number 4, we've all been mugged off by this new owner. They sound like bigger skinflints than Morgan was.

24 Jul 2016 18:49:50
I would say to the 'negative ones' on here (and you know your names), prepare to be surprised tomorrow! Good times are coming to Molineux!

24 Jul 2016 18:52:38
New owner keep JACKETT equals no ambition.

24 Jul 2016 18:53:57
Suppose we'll know soon enough! Is robin Li involved read that he is then he's not, an where's Mendes gone.

24 Jul 2016 19:11:32
Ed 001 is a SCOUSER people bet it's bloody Morgan in DISGUISE!

24 Jul 2016 19:12:14
Ola john might be on permenant because he only got year left on his contract but tbf I don't no what he's actually like never saw him play but benfica paid 10mil for him so can't be bad I don't think.

24 Jul 2016 19:45:18
Regarding the manager position I would have thought it's the end of the road for KJ unless the owners didn't have a plan B and cannot get the ideal replacement before the start of the season - if this is the case it would not be the worst case scenario.

Don't get me wrong I would like everything to be new from owners to players including the manager and back room staff (the old Olympiakos manager Silva would be great considering he's also got champions league XP) but we already have the following:

1: Rich new owners
2: Money to buy new players and finish our stadium build
3: A new board (sort of)

If we end up with Jacket for a little while longer so be it and don't get down about it cause if he does stay it will be make or break for him within the first few weeks of the season

Ola John - I didn't see him play so can't comment but like someone said if he cost Benfica €10m and Ajax and PSV are interested in him now then he should be better than what we have

He would be the type of player that we could get whole in the championship if we are being realistic cause the top names will want us to be on he Prem before they come here as they have their reputations to think of.

The main thing for me now is that we bring on some quality players for the start of the season (10 new players would be nice and what I think we need)

Can't wait for tomorrow to find out what we getting in terms of manager and player quality.

24 Jul 2016 20:07:35
@Bertiebassett

Bruce and Martinez are top Managers but Bruce would be
who I went for.
We ate Wolves a massive club.
We have a big following with a big bank balance.
We can attract big names wherever.
Come on me babbies!

24 Jul 2016 20:16:29
I had a horrible feeling he'd be staying.

24 Jul 2016 20:19:16
I do find it amazing how people are having a go at the new owners already. They haven’t even had chance to unpack their bags. It took Morgan about three years to get us promoted. Fosun haven’t even been here a week and some of you are moaning because they haven’t made any massive announcements.

24 Jul 2016 20:42:52
But clive all the signs are he'll probably stay.

24 Jul 2016 21:12:54
If anyone needs to go it's Kevin Thelwell. Some of the players he has recruited has been complete pants. Now that finance should be available maybe he can get the players he wanted but couldn't afford #ITK.

24 Jul 2016 21:39:10
Can I just take this time to ask you to remember Solbaken? - he was everything the new owners are looking for right now (cutting edge European crap)! I was actually arguing a couple of months ago to someone about just how bad he was yet ironically we are now looking for another one (for some reason) .

The simplest ideas are usually the best and, although it pains me to say it, Steve Bruce would do a really good job for Wolves and is probably the best choice.

24 Jul 2016 22:03:49
So your all talking about this and that with no media back up but yet you ALL know what's happening. Right nobody knows on here what's happening and who's coming if anybody. In my 38 years of following the Wolves I've met people full of bullshit pretending they know what's going on! If you don't know then don't say anything. Just wait to see what happens and support the greatest team in the world. END OF!

24 Jul 2016 22:25:06
I don't think we can say Solbakken was good or bad to be honest. He neither had enough time nor support to do what he wanted at the club. For example, if he was given as much control as Jackett with regards to which players can leave, I think he might've had a better shot at it. Hard to get players that are so used to being in a team together, that plays with a particular set of tactics to suddenly change their style and do what the manager wants in 6 months or so.

Not saying he was a good manager, just saying that like many players/ people at Wolves, not given a chance to do what he can.

24 Jul 2016 22:58:18
We can only say what we see in the papers/ internet unless we have some inside information - we shall see the direction we are going tomorrow hopefully.

25 Jul 2016 08:15:27
Solbakken was shafted by a group of players who would adapt to his style of playing. He also needed a British number 2.

24 Jul 2016 15:58:31
If the new management want to look at Continental coaches how about Ernesto Valverde. Led Bilbao to 5th place last season.

24 Jul 2016 16:06:50
He signed a new contract a few weeks back.

24 Jul 2016 16:47:44
I know but he has been there 3 seasons and may fancy a change of project.

24 Jul 2016 16:55:34
If it's a big name they're after. Laurent Blanc is available. Personally I don't care who the manager is as long as they're allowed to spend the money on players of their choice rather than the head of recruitments.

24 Jul 2016 17:14:56
If continental coaches are the way forward, Salvador Caetano would be ideal.

24 Jul 2016 17:49:43
Michael Laudrup?

24 Jul 2016 20:17:47
Parry's coaches do a good trip to Germany apparently.

26 Jul 2016 13:13:43
Yea and they also sponsor the Wolves Speedway so they may have some spare bikes for those exiting soon.

24 Jul 2016 11:40:46
Wouldn't be surprised to see Peter Kenyon replace Moxey.

24 Jul 2016 14:25:31
Supposed to have been involved in the negotiations for the take over.

24 Jul 2016 14:34:59
Former Olympiacos manager Marco Silva has emerged as the favourite to take over at Wolverhampton Wanderers .
The Championship side are expected to dispense with the services of Kenny Jackett following the club's £30m takeover by Chinese conglomerate Fosun International last week.
Fosun had an agreement in place to install Julen Lopetegui as manager but he instead opted to take the top job with the Spain national side just hours before the takeover was completed.

According to media reports in his native Portugal, Silva is now in the frame to take over at Wolves and could be aided in his pursuit by renowned agent and countryman
Jorge Mendes, who is thought to have been heavily involved with the Fosun takeover.
If appointed, Silva would become only the second overseas manager to take the reins at the Midlands side following Stale Solbakken 's unsuccessful stint in the hotseat in 2012.
Steve Bruce, who quit as manager of Hull City last week, has also been linked with the post.

Benik Afobe for Derby lol he won't be joining the sheep anytime soon!

24 Jul 2016 11:39:01
Not sure if true but heard a rumour that new owners intend to finish building the stadium too and Redrow will be involved in the construction.

24 Jul 2016 12:47:14
Red row build houses! They didn't build the north bank did they?

24 Jul 2016 13:50:33
Buckingham Group are the ones building the new stadium.

24 Jul 2016 14:56:12
what new stadium.

24 Jul 2016 15:07:07
^^the one in the plans.

25 Jul 2016 01:12:32
what plans?

24 Jul 2016 10:47:08
Ok ok. Time to lay some factual gossip on the table. This is not guesswork and comes from genuine source. Please look back at my post prior to the takeover. I was the first on here to state the exactly who and when would take over and when press conference would be. All of which were 100% accurate.

I'm now aware that Steve Bruce will be confirmed and sign an initial 2 year deal. He will bring with him Sony Aluko, Bacary Sako and Brede Hangeland. I'm expecting Bruce to be confirmed early next week with at least 2 of the three transfer targets to be complete by Friday.

As a whole there is no panic within the moleniux hierarchy and even seem a little bullish this morning.

Very very exciting times ahead.

Patience is a virtue!

24 Jul 2016 10:51:47
So what of Kenny jackett then tiptonwolves his having talks with the new owners today is he leaving today or staying.

24 Jul 2016 10:55:46
That's not a very good source then! Aluko signed for Fulham a few weeks ago.

24 Jul 2016 10:56:07
Sako is a must.

24 Jul 2016 11:05:55
Sako, Barton, Dunk and Clough please.

24 Jul 2016 11:12:48
Oh dear Aluko signed for Fulham! Maybe your source is not as ITK as you think.

24 Jul 2016 11:20:53
Barton has gone Celtic, and I'd be happy with just sako. Wolves legend. Have to take Mason's number 10 shirt.

24 Jul 2016 11:35:11
A forward line of Sako, Dicko, Graham and Wallace (Zyro when fit) makes my lips wet. If Bruce could just bring Huddlestone with him and one of their defenders, this would definitely make for a decent promotion chasing team.

Goodbye Saville and co.

24 Jul 2016 11:59:52
You lot really need to wake up
Look what the new owners intended and now you have already dropped down to bargain basement, Sako yes but the rest you are not for real.

24 Jul 2016 12:32:31
Bruce gone away with his family on his hols to america, if that's true can't see him being in talks.

24 Jul 2016 12:41:49
Surely we should be looking at better players than quoted above?!

24 Jul 2016 13:28:35
If you lot are happy with that quality of player what was the point of having new owners?!? Those are the type of players we would be linked with anyway!
My guess is (yes my guess-like most of what I read on here. ) is that we'll sign 2-3 high quality foreigners for 5m plus each and then the same English.
None of us know who we're going to sign because the manager hasn't been announced! My guess (yes. ) is that it will be a foreign manager.
We'll sign decent players. Wait and see.
More will be revealed over the coming weeks. Would take Sako of the names mentioned. but he needs a good left back behind him!

24 Jul 2016 13:31:22
Sako back why? he was a favourite at Molineux yes, free agent yes, but still cut and ran, wanted to try himself in the premier league, ha.
Im sure he'd love to come back, not really shined has he.
Lets not look back to the past there's better out there and now we've got the money to get them.

24 Jul 2016 14:41:22
A bloke drops an itk rumour on here and everyone goes daft, come on boys don't get taken in so easy, know one knows what's happening'Again!
we can guess and assume but no one posting on here truly knows.
Wait and see what comes out of today and tomorrow, ill guess we will have a good idea about how things are going to move forward.
if Jackett stays'with funds available' then the time will come to laud him or turn on him, once he's got the players he requires and he either delivers what's needed or fails.
As has been said the people who now own the club are very successful people'they won't be easily fooled and will be well upto speed with the situation, they haven't invested time and resources to stand still or go backwards.
And regarding a replacement coach/ manager, if it was to come up, then to get us out and stable I would go for Bruce'and if I was going for a "Star" I would go for Hiddink'as a statement of intent, that's just my opinion though, nothing more.

24 Jul 2016 16:29:42
Why the hell should jacket be given timw with more money. how many flaming midfielders do we need. thought the day of buying players from the dog and duck were over. obviously not.

24 Jul 2016 17:17:17
If it was a choice between sako or Graham on the left, even though sako played well for us, we need to move forward. Graham can grow into a much better all round player than sako.

24 Jul 2016 17:23:17
There is more holes in this rumour than a sieve #ITK.

25 Jul 2016 15:06:28
Nearer 0% than 100% this time Tipo. Better luck with your dreams next time.

23 Jul 2016 23:57:43
Marco Silva has turned down the chance to take the Wolves management job. It's thought that his limited English was a concern.

24 Jul 2016 07:16:57
Not sure why we arn't going with what the fans want - Martinez followed by Bruce. Martinez ticks many of the boxes in that he is Spanish and is exactly what they are looking for. Unless he didn't want it, I'd be surprised if they don't interview him.

24 Jul 2016 07:31:21
We move on to Plan C now. Clearly the Mendes link is the key factor and we're going to get an international manager who can work with the type of players Mendes will bring in. Kenny Jackett staying or at least staying for very long is a red herring and I think our club should treat him better than that!

24 Jul 2016 07:31:21
"His limited English was thought to be a concern" - language wasn't a problem when he was managing Olympiacos, he had a 79.17% win rate.

24 Jul 2016 07:49:34
Can we just get Martinez in and stop messing around?

24 Jul 2016 08:03:21
Wavid -Martinez would end up leaving us in league one. The man is a bluffer #ITK

Wigan stats P 175 W 51 D 47 L 77 win% 29.1 (3 yrs)

Swansea stats P 126 W 63 D 37 L 26 win % 50.0 (2 yrs)

24 Jul 2016 08:10:09
Expect Steve Bruce to be in charge by the end of next week.

24 Jul 2016 08:30:06
Kenny jackett will find out his fate today his having talks with the new owners.

24 Jul 2016 08:36:41
I would have bruve in the championship just because he knows how to get out this league and the type of players you need to get out this league then when we get into the prem get someone else in with a higher stat to work with more classy player.

24 Jul 2016 08:46:41
Do we know Marco Silva has turned as down or is that message on twitter a red herring? Interesting?

24 Jul 2016 08:54:13
Peter‏ @Footballagent
I was hoping we would get Marco Silva as Manager as well.

Kenny Hackett is not leaving he will stay for the forseeable future. their are no new signings lined up . the 5 that were coming in were lopetegue signings. that's why oh is staying we are back to square one. but I would forgo this season to build throughout for promotion the next season.

^^You can't seriously tell me that a multi billionaire owner wants to come in, stay with the current regime and give the manager no money to spend? Sorry, it makes very little sense. We may aswell have Morgan back.

24 Jul 2016 09:31:35
Sorry I don't believe that someone who has just bought the club does not want to move forward and let's not forget it's written into the contract that the have to spend 20-30 mil over the next 2 years minimum on the team and that's on top of our revenue. Let's see what tomorrow brings I think there's been a lot going on behind the scenes and us fans are the last to know anything.

Surely having offered and agreed the job with Lopetegui and now having discussed the role with a view to appointing Silva, Kenny Jackett's position is untenable. If this is all true, then that surely sends a signal to Kenny of no real confidence?

We need this sorted ASAP otherwise we will find ourselves in a relegation battle. Don't want Bruce or Martinez both are ****ing useless tits!
Priority must first of all be bringing in a top name manager to prove to us the new owners intent and then they have till 1st September to bring in some quality players.

another rumour I have just read on the E and S site under the headline Robin Li not involved in Wolves takeover is that it has been reported that Peter Kenyon ex chelsea and man utd ceo is interested in the Wolves job, apparently this has been reported in a newspaper but the writer doesn't state which paper it's in.

24 Jul 2016 17:21:14
The fans want Martinez? A guy with an average record, who only has one way of playing and has made the last 2 clubs he managed worse than when he started there. No thanks!

23 Jul 2016 23:49:32
Was Marco Silva offered the Wolves manager role and if so, when?

23 Jul 2016 23:57:43
Marco Silva has turned down the chance to take the Wolves management job. It's thought that his limited English was a concern.

24 Jul 2016 08:58:35
Collymore wants Giggs.

24 Jul 2016 09:50:34
Collymore wants a doctor!

24 Jul 2016 10:36:58
I agree Giggs has the profile and put a team around him.

24 Jul 2016 10:45:59
Collymore supports Villa.

24 Jul 2016 11:55:12
He's actually a Birmingham fan!
I went to college with him.

Pochettino took time to learn English and didn't do badly in that period. Now look at him, top manager by anyone's standards. Feel we need to invest in new young breed of managers. Different attitude from the old guard, of which Bruce is a good example. Quite successful of his type but time to move on to something different.
