ed have you got any info on who now could still be on the shortlist for the wolves job? {Ed001's Note - the only person I know of on there is Curbishley, he is the only definite name I have been given. Everyone else mentioned in the papers seems to be putting themselves forward.}

Betting suspended everywhere what is going on anyone please ? Help I am going mad

Come on curbs, come and save our club!!

Lee Clarke on a Two and a bit year deal done will be announced tonight

Curbs was in the studio for Al Jazeera Sport this evening covering the Man Utd v Ajax match. I don't think it's gonna be him unfortunately.

I Presume that is because he is the only one left

Betting not suspended ive just put 50p each way on Red Rum....he never let anyone down!

Its gonna be Dave Jones until end of season. Fact

Wot kind of job is curbishley waiting for,he is a joke

Joe kinnear for me

Its friday any news please

Terry Clipboard appointed manager till end of season. That means no change at all and actually puts us in a worst position than when muppet mick was in charge, a new manager would have put a bit of freshness back into the team. Oh well we all love our team and we will have to give them our full support till the end of the season, we can still survive. wolvesinsider you are full of it

Its has bad has the batties what a joke

23 Feb 2012 20:58:48
ed did roy keane get a chance of a second interview with moxey and morgan? {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware he never got a first one, despite the paper talk. I don't believe he was ever in the running, though he did apply.}

23 Feb 2012 20:54:59
Glenn Roeder heading back into managment by taking job at Wolves, just what the doctor ordered

23 Feb 2012 20:09:04
Dave Jones refused to confirm or deny his interest in the job on SSN

I can , he can F off.
Gibo.

It looks like betting has been suspended On Willy hills that is the first time in 10 days I presume either Jones or Bruce

Dave jones was screwed by moxey last time over transfers so why are you against him he was the most succesfull manager before mm in recent times

Id have DJ back tomorrow. First manager to get us into the Prem, and didnt have the backing to keep us there or a fair chance to get us back up.

23 Feb 2012 20:05:00
Hi ed is it true what I have been reading on the net that we are after glen roeder as director of football? {Ed001's Note - I honestly don't have a clue, I don't know who is wanted for that position.}

He is into 12's for the managers job. Lets hope he turns it down.

Roeder is srill not 100% over his illness, the stress would be far to much for him - he will definately not be manager or director of football.

23 Feb 2012 18:50:14
Us wolves fans are getting so fed up with this manager search and so called bull S**t by so called people that know. But can honestly say curbishley did turn us down fact. My mates misses is a partnerships executive and they got told fact.I'll try and find out as much as I can and if I hear anything will inform all.

Ed on a scale of 1-10 what are the chances of a Curbishley appointment? {Ed001's Note - I still believe he is the most likely appointment, he was the first choice and he was keen on the job. Questions would have to be asked of Moxey if he couldn't get a man who wanted the job to take it!}

Can we see if MM wants to come back?

I don't think curbishley will become our manager.

What do you think Curbishley would say if wolves went back and compromised on his demands ie removed all obsticles - Do you think Curbishley would still take it or is he to proud?

No thanks to madmick!
Even now I think wolves are better off no manager than madmick!

23 Feb 2012 18:35:31
Wolves have offered the job to Walter Smith.
He had been offered it earlier in the week too. his decision is expected today.

http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2012/02/23/wolves-offer-walter-smith-managers-job/

I thnik your a couple of hours late mate, he turned it down, official!

He rejected it five hours ago.

He already rejected the job as he felt 13 games wasn't enough time for him to leave his mark.

Looks like everyone will reject.

23 Feb 2012 17:46:35
If you go onto the Wolves website and look at the latest training picture gallery, highlight over one of the pictures including Terry Connor, clearly states "TC the man who will take charge at Newcastle". No decision looks likely then anytime soon.

This is true hover your cursor over the image and it shows it

Oh theres a shock. We knew the other day he would be in charge at newcastle, so your point is?

Brightonchauffeur a little quiet at 6pm

They said that a couple of days ago. It's normal in this type of situation when a new manager doesn't have time to prepare the team (or even learn their names).

Says Matt Murray also doing his coaching badges, maybe he will be the new boss as wouldn't have to change any of the initials from McCarthy's teamwear

Brighton Chauffeur: and an earlier post did say it may take till Friday...wait and u will see!

23 Feb 2012 17:23:00
Ed , please what is going on at wolves what is the truth about whats going on and are the press trying to make the club look stupid {Ed001's Note - the truth is that Morgan and Moxey sat down and discussed their options. They have looked through the applications received and made a shortlist, which is now in the hands of Moxey to get one of those in. I don't know who is on the shortlist, apart from Curbishley, so I can't say any more on that. But I do know Morgan is trying to do things in the right way, with nothing being said until the deal is done. Unless it comes from the club itself, what you read in the paper is pure speculation, the club are keeping it quiet and doing things professionally.}

So why are all of these managers turning us down and openly saying they have been approached?
I agree wolves policy is and always has been no news til decision made and contracts signed BUT surely a statement to deny comments by others would put everyones mind at rest - and it would end tthe so called speculation if thats what it was! {Ed001's Note - what manager has come out and said they have been approached? I would like to see the quotes. Perhaps you could link me, because I have seen nothing of the sort.}

I think Poyet has spoken about an approach as did Walter Smith

23 Feb 2012 18:52:44
Poyet approached to be posible Wolves manager

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12040/7539398/Poyet-reveals-Wolves-approach

They have to report something and will latch on to any slight rumour or twist any story to suit their cause and create their own news. They are the press after all. I have absolute faith in the board.

23 Feb 2012 16:01:52
Will wolvesinsider please put us out of our misery and let us know what the latest news is.
Last we heard it was Curbs is this still your understanding?

Wolvesinsider knows about as much as me or you.

Curbishley has openly stated he is no longer interested.

People from inside the club have openly stated that nobody except for the people who need to know, are in the loop.

wolvesinsider has just had a bet on Curbs and is gutted at losing his money.

How many times has this wolves insider got things right?

A big fat none just like Morgan

Morgan got it right when we won the league so dont forget all the good has been done

I think the #wolvesinsider must be insider.......cos he's very quite after one of his 834 predictions have failed again!
Unless its wolvesincider

23 Feb 2012 13:57:03
Chief executive Jez Moxey today refuted sugestions the job had been offered to multiple candidates on a short-term basis.

"We're not offering it around like confetti," he said.

(More like throwing the bouquet and watching everyone try to avoid it)

They are making Wolves a laughing stock. Said we will get someone in before our next match, just a day to go !! What idles do they think people are just to take it on a short term how many more will turn us down before they think that's not a good idea short term mmmm no !! Long term YES that's what we need. Is that not common sense. It is to me.

Dumb & Dumber the Dynamic Duo - what a pair of PLONKERS It really is the blind leading the blind.

Why have dave jones back yes was not backed by sir jack but we were has bad has now then backward step

Jones is older and wiser now. (And he's probably cheap).

I think I'll put a bet on him.

In fact I've just heard a rumour from someone close to Wolves that he's about to agree to a deal.

(rolls eyes)

On the cheap again

Did we not sack jones

23 Feb 2012 13:44:11
Im beginning to think the whole smith thing was a big smoke screen ...:-( Gnasher (Tim nash) said he hand't been asked to be manager....on twiter knowing that it would generate a lot of media attention....and moxey knows jim how convenient :-[ so what have they bin up too? Any news.. insider?

Flash of gold?

23 Feb 2012 13:38:30
Any news insider?

Flash of gold.........

23 Feb 2012 13:24:00
Brighton Chauffeur: good afternoon Wolverhampton! Not too long for You too wait now... 6pm...and all will be revealed...as I stated Saturday, Monday and Tues. and yes I will enjoy my holiday!!

How do you explain the statement/interview released by Poyet himself today saying he hasn't had any decision to make because there hasn't been any discussions? And if he is waiting to step into the breach, where did the Walter Smith approach come from? Skeptical to say the least Mr. Chauffer ;-)

Yes agree more b/s

Keep yer peepers on the road mr chauffeur. We'll be down playing you next season anyway.

Do you just work on betting exchanges? The more rumours you make up the better your profits? I reckon there is a lot of that going on this week.

I think we should all stop posting, this is a joke and I'm really fed up with how this has been handled, some supporters need to remember how poisonous the atmosphere got under MM and maybe that's a factor.....buy the way the board have dealt with this and seem not to have a bloody clue hurts, because we have become a joke and it seems no one wants to come! I really think we are going to sink like a stone, I really hope I'm wrong, I've said before that the atmosphere at some games would put players off joining I think it's happening with the managers post! Sad times and football should have a little feel good factor!

At that point he hadn't had a discussion, and as previously stated up until last night he was only going to focus on the Hull game! Today is another day and there are still ten hours in this day AND AS PREVIOUSLY STATED IT MAY TAKE TILL FRIDAY TO DOT THE I's AND CROSS THE T's. PATIENCE

Brighton Chauffeur : sceptical is with a curly c not a kicking k you wally!

Well one hour to go, are you still confident an announcement will be made Brighton Chauffeur?

20 minutes to go albion chauffeur

23 Feb 2012 12:51:42
As I have previously posted, those managers who have rejected the Wolves job have done so because:

a. They are only being offered a 13-game contract.

b. The follow-on appointment if Wolves survive requires them to work for a Director of Football.

c. If they are appointed in the summer, there is only £10 million to spend if Wolves are in the Premiership and only £2-3 million if in the Championship.

d. If Wolves are relegated, Morgan and Moxey have refused to confirm that key players will be kept.

Smith has turned the job down.

Next on the list will be Paul Ince, Peter Reid, Steve Maclaren, David O'Leary, George Graham and Graeme Souness

What a bloody shambles, moxey and morgan should just flip a coin. they are making the club a laughing stock

Can I have the job? I'll do it at least as good as clipboard could and I wouldn't me any trouble, honest!

Where are you getting the info from that we only offered a 13 game contract? I know for a fact that we offered Curbishley a 2 and a half year deal, and he refused because he wanted a 13 game contact in case we went down.

"Where are you getting the info from that we only offered a 13 game contract? I know for a fact that we offered Curbishley a 2 and a half year deal, and he refused because he wanted a 13 game contact in case we went down."

Interesting....that conflicts directly with what I heard....albeit I am convinced that the Director of Football rumour is the obstacle, not the contract

'I know for a fact that we offered Curbishley a 2 and a half year deal' - and you know this how? no official details have been released by the club, everything we read and hear is media frenzy

Transfer budget ridiculous no wonder people like curbs dont want the job all morgan and moxey are thinking about is getting a bigger stadium which will probably end up empty the way we are going

What utter rubbish no-one but no-one knows who is going to be manager stop speculating, you wont be satisfied anyway.

23 Feb 2012 12:47:14
Holloway now 3rd favourite 11/2.

He wouldnt take just 13 games though surely?

23 Feb 2012 12:11:53
nothing has been leaked by wolves. disclaimers are in place to ensure we can do out business without having to have the press cover every angle. whatever your hearing and whatever ppl say about which manager has done what with wolves is a load of bull, as no1 has any info as of yet.

WS has said he doesn't want job for only 13 games he wants a longer contract - that is why he has sais no - he hasn't been offered job but asked if would show interest if asked!! skysportsnews

Think Adrian Childs was in talks last night to appoint new manager, believe he spoke to Roy Keane, Paul Ince and Christine Bleakley

23 Feb 2012 12:01:44
SSN- Walter Smith turns it down, not happy with only 13 games

Lol cant wait for everyone to pick this 'breaking news' apart. but i'll start, LIAR. no truth in this at all.

^ Bet you feel silly ^

Yep, just seen it on SSN. Not even a washed up has been from the SPL wants to come to Wolves. What sort of deals are Morgan and Poxey putting out there?

A 13 game one. not long enough for any experienced manager to make an impression on

Only offered 13 games and wants longer as he says he needs to get stuck into a job like wolves.....don't rule it out yet!

Apparantly, he was only asked if he was interested in talking about the job, and after considering it for a while decided that only 13 games was not enough for him to get his teeth into. So said, thanks but no thanks. Taxi for Moxey...........

Are morgan and moxley fit to be running our club

Morgan & Moxey not exactly good on compromise. Look at the Curbishley debacle. The Smith deal's off.

Beginning to look that whoever takes it on will only have 12 games left

More likely half a dozen by the time we get something sorted. Morgan and Moxey certainly seem to have made a right mess of this!!

What an absolute shambles. As the owner, we have to assume that Steve Morgan is going nowhere. On a day when his other empire, Redrow, is making the news for all the right reasons which he should be proud, he is becoming the butt of everyone's jokes in the footballing world. The Club has become a laughing stock and it hurts.

If he didn't know before, he should know now - that he needs a decent Chief Executive who can deal with people and with whom people will want to work.

Every cloud has a silver lining they say - so if at least this shambles spells the end of Moxey,s reign, then something good will have come out of it.

23 Feb 2012 11:01:16
Wolves still intend to appoint a Director of Football during the summer: this is one of the reasons that put Curbishley off.

Wolves "vision" is to find an experienced individual to be Director of Football to have oversight of all team issues, including transfers.

Morgan and Moxey wanted to appoint a manager to help Wolves survive, then ask that manager to continue next season but as Coach, working for the Director.

Curbishley refused.

Wolves are looking at Walter Smith, Peter Reid and Graeme Sounness as the sort of experienced figure to be Director.

As an interim measure, Wolves have broaden their horizons. Steve Maclaren has indicated he is interested and Wolves may approach his club for permission to talk with him.

Steve Bruce remains a contender and so does Ray Wilkins.

If truth be told, no decision appears to have been made or is even close to being made.

Stupid. Why bother introducing a Director of Football at this stage of the season? It just doesn't make sense, we are fighting for our lives at the bottom of the table - bringing Curbs in is more important than a Director of Football!

Sorry - perhaps I wasn't clear enough.

The Director of Football is part of the long-term vision for Wolves.

What Morgan and Moxey want is someone who can help Wolves survive relegation this season.

And then appoint a Director in the summer

23 Feb 2012 10:30:28
According to SSN, E&S and most other media Walter Smith will be named as boss tomorrow but only for 13 games as he doesnt want the job full time.

23 Feb 2012 09:39:09
According to Tim Nash on twitter , Walter Smith now wants to be the manager for the last thirteen games.FIASCO/CIRCUS/SHAMBLES are but three words that immediately come to mind.

It is prefferable to having Clipboard in charge for the last 13 games

23 Feb 2012 09:38:27
Radio 2 sports news this mornin...Gus Poyet hinting that he may be leaving Brighton.." its outta ma hans at da minit"....I think that would be good for wolves as long he gets an intelligent and creative no.2.....Ray Wilkins maybe....no matter what happens, let's get behind the team...It's times like this that the team needs our support....utw....Jeff

23 Feb 2012 08:52:53
Ian Holloway set to be interviewed this afternoon Im told
