Wilson Palacios coming in on loan from Stoke.

22 Jan 2015 11:23:05
Young n hungry? Big wages? Is he match fit?

22 Jan 2015 11:42:08
No thanks, by the end of the month I'd like Ince and Phillips on loan, Loan out Jacobs (a little unfair on him but Ince and Phillips would be better players). Oh and send Clarke to someone in League 2

22 Jan 2015 11:43:56
Remember Incey, Rae and Irwin? All classed as passed it when they joined! We won promotion! Spurs paid about 12 mil for him, stoke about 6 mil, if were only payin wages surely worth a go.

Tbh we need a cm, we haven't got the perfect partner for mcdonald but we have lacked something in our midfield since paul ince has left

23 Jan 2015 08:21:47
Perfect partner for McDonald is Price. IMO Price is our best CM, but goes a little under the radar because he isn't fancy he is attacking and doesn't score many goals. Keeps it simple keeps play ticking over nicely and breaks up play and covers out of position fullbacks. Players like Price allow their CM partner a "free role" to roam and attack knowing if they lose possession there is plenty of cover, allows other players to take more risks, its not a coincidence that our form has improved since Price has returned

23 Jan 2015 10:11:49
i disagree, price does all the little things really well but nothing else . but we need a bullish type of cm who can run aswell, that chalobah would of been perfect imo but he's has gone to reading. we have missed paul ince since he hanged his boots up we need someone simular to him in midfield

23 Jan 2015 11:25:07
I see where your coming from, and yeah Price isn't that bullish CM, he won't fly into a tackle because he doesn't need to because he's a very clever player, plays with his head, can read the game and covers the right positions for interceptions and blocked tackles. Takes the ball off a player and a small little pass to McDonald or the full backs and then shows again for the ball. ALTHOUGH Certain games we would need more of a big tackler Chalobah type player. I think Rowe isn't need nor Saville, and with a bully type CM Price McDonald Evans Edwards I'd be more than happy with our options

23 Jan 2015 13:12:36
i like saville but he is very simular to mcdonald hence when they play together we are terrible . I have no idea why we signed tommy rowe he's rubbish. I can see him playing edwards next to mcdonald on weekend which would allow afobe and dicko to start. if you sore price in the fa cup he was terrible one of the worst performance from a player I've seen at the molineux this season by a wolves player

Jack Price is very very underrated, the change is form particularly goals conceded has improved considerably since JPs arrival back into the team.
He doesn't need to " fly into tackles" to be a good midfielder, what him closely his work rate, positional sense and he can put his foot in ask Ohara.
He can pick as pass break the game up and is a great screen for the back four.
Ask his fellow pros of his value to the team.
Listen to people rave on about Leon Britten at Swansea.
In Jack Price we have a little diamond.
Enjoy him embrace him sing his name.
We would miss him.

I never said he needs to fly into a tackles to be a good player, "he won't fly into a tackle because he doesn't need to because he's a very clever player". The reason he doesn't fly into tackles makes him a good player

I don't think you can really compare Saville to Edwards at all. Edward's experience can be seen in the lack of errors he makes that Saville does. That said he does need more experience, I'm hopeful and confident. Furthermore, price is exceptionally underated and the small things he does do, like covering well, do go amiss. Regardless, he isn't Premier League quality yet and his unique play will be overwhelmed by top opposition. If we are a club with premier league aspirations then player like Wilson will mean the difference between holding the ball and getting bullied off the ball by big clubs. Price needs more experience in lower league to become a more well rounded sure which he has the potential to be. He needs to learn how to be more successful going forward, holding the ball, cheekier passes and cutting edge tackles still. And that's fine, he will do that come the next two-three years. But for the here and now and potential premier push Wilson is the man. Reeks experience, covers well and can stride forward and put lovely balls through which would be brilliant with Dicko on the end of it. Finally, the formation will be the same as last time, don't change a winning formation though it will be interesting to see when Afobe comes off the bench, Nouha needs to bring his A-game if he wants to stay on the pitch. Fellas, I'm excited.

The point about Price is that he complements McDonald. McDonald gets more creative when Price is with him than any other cm we have tried. Take a look at the results if you want. Look at the scores when those two are playing together and the scores when they are not. Price doesn't score or even assist but McDonald does when Price is playing.

24 Jan 2015 10:15:55
I agree, they play very well together. Though I'm not sure I've seen KMac get too many assists or goals regardless. The point being, due to experience and capability as a holding mid who can run with the ball and charge up the pitch, palacios is the man. I can see him scoring a handful of goals and nabbing some assists. Price will be a great player, but for the here and now palacios surely is a better option if we can afford to have him? Even if he only has another 2 seasons in him. He would allow KMac to fulfil his versatile role and, God forbid, if he got injured and we were left with Evans and price I feel their inexperience would cause us huge difficulties. We need another experienced midfielder. I think he's a safe option. Not to discredit price at all, because he has been our most highly underated player and plays good football

25 Jan 2015 00:30:28
well price was terrible today. in a game where we need a little a bit extra against a defensive team price is a wasted position so ineffective. and soo slow on the ball

25 Jan 2015 10:41:36
With Dicko/ Henry, Afobe, Van la Parra and Edwards we probably played our most attacking outfield so far this season but we still didn't score. We already have attacking midfielders and Price may not be creative but he is good positionally and my guess is that Kenny was scared about shedding goals on the break which is probably one reason why he changed full backs too.

A draw is OK. At least we didn't lose and we'll have Sako back soon!

25 Jan 2015 16:07:19
yes I know but jacket fauult really trying to play edwards on the wing was stupid . and that sun for iorfa was a very pointless one. should of taken price instead of henry yesterday
