Eggart Jonsson will leave Wolves for Leeds Utd this Summer, Brian McDermott was an admirer of the Icelandic midfielder who can also play at CB. McDermott tried to sign Jonsson while he was the manager of Reading but Jonsson wanted to come to a premier league team. Good news, the exodus of the driftwood has begun.
Now that's surprised me. I respect McDermott and his abilities. When we saw Eggy play, I thought he was awful. He chased every ball like a kid on the park. He was like a supporter who had won a Red Letter Day to play for his team. Maybe we have missed something. We don't want another player who was dross in the eyes of the supporters to go on to be a star at another club. George Friend is an example, and I understand Ipswich fans like Stearman. Hmmm.

It's not always about the player being terrible, sometime it how the manager sets them up to play. however with eggy I think your right, he looked poor when in the team, not one good game

Who knows if he could be a centre back. Most fans felt negative about Ingimarrson in his thirteen games. Then he went to Reading and got promoted to the premiership before we did. Played his part in the best defensive record in the championship that season. Can everybody say they are happy with the pace of Gorkss and Johnson - too similar.
Recent managers have passed him over so they're obviously not rating him either.

Solbakken said at the start of season that jonnson needed to decide if he was a cb or a cm and the day after he said he was a cm he was transfer listed, I think every manager thinks he's a centre half but he's obsessed at playing centre mid and that's his problem

Hate to disappoint but Leeds have no interest in Jonsson
We should have kept Stearman, still a decent defender in my eyes. Ipswich seem a better side for his arrival and he's certainly made a difference. No worse than what we have now, shame he got so much stick from the fans. A real workhorse, what we need right now.
