Wolves will sign Chelsea's England U-21 left back Ryan Bertrand on a season-long loan deal, after fighting of competition from Swansea and QPR. To be announced in the next two weeks as he is currently out with the U-21 squad.

Wolves have made a formal bid to Birmingham's owners of £7m for defender Roger Johnson. Wolves have also enquired via FAX over the availability of Scott Dann and Craig Gardner.
The last enquiry wolves made over these three players was when McLeish was in charge, and he resigned because of a disagreement over the firesale of his star players as he wanted to hold back for between £10-15m for Dann and Johnson seperately and £5-10m for Gardner. The owner disagreed with McLeish and wanted to sell off Dann and Johnson for between £8-10m separately and £4-5 million for Gardner due to debts of over £40m hitting the Blues hard.
I can also confirm Wolves have made a £3m bid for Reading's Matt Mills. However, Reading are holding out for £5m to spark a bidding war between Wolves and Stoke. But Stoke are viewing him as their third priority defender behind Birmingham's Scott Dann and Free Agent Matthew Upson.
Wolves are acting firm with there bids and are viewing Mills and Johnson as the top priority as a back line for next season. Wolves will not bid over £8m for Johnson and £4m for Mills and if these deals fall through Wolves are going to look at there second priority of a centre back pairing, Spur's Sebastian Bassong is available for £7m and free agent Matthew Upson.
Elsewhere, apart from Wolves looking at central defensive options, Jamie O'Hara's 4 year contract has been signed and is a done deal with a £5m transfer fee going to Tottenham. Wolves are also looking at several goalkeepers in the free agency market, with Maik Taylor and Dorus De Vries being looked at for back-up to Wayne Hennessey.

wolves have offered blues 20m + berra and ebanks blake for scott dann, roger johnson and craig gardner. i can't see dann coming here though myself with the likes of liverpool after him.
