I think 4 or 5 quality players in the summer along with our young ones having gained experience over the next couple of months then we will hit it next season.

Big call is to try our best to keep costa. only thing stopping us would be a 40m buy out clause benfica like to put on there young ones or a premier club coming in. but anything can happen in football. have hope we might fluke it and make the play offs lol.

I'm hoping our academy system will come to fruition - just look at Everton or Southampton, they're reaping the rewards now. I'm glad the younger players are getting a deserved chance. It also encourages younger players to sign for Wolves if they see others getting a chance. Just a thought UTW.

Villa defender coming. Was delayed bit but hear still on.

17 Jan 2017 21:00:13
Who is this flipping defender?

17 Jan 2017 23:01:43
don't know, but can someone tell me what happened to jordan graham? it's now a month over his predicted return date and he still isn't in training. that's slightly concerning.

18 Jan 2017 07:56:02
I don't believe any available Villa player is of the quality we require

18 Jan 2017 09:42:51
Only way to keep Costa is to fluke promotion through the playoffs. As unlikely as it seems it's not impossible so I won't write it off. £40mil release clauses for young players is getting to be the norm with the big Continental clubs, but pie in the sky in most cases. I reckon £10mil-£15mil would buy him when the time comes.

Realistically we will challenge strongly next season after recruiting a small number of quality players in the summer and bringing through our youngsters. Next season is going to be bloody exciting.

18 Jan 2017 09:55:00
Wavid I don't think it really matters about Graham until next season. Dicko is a shadow of the player he was pre injury, and Graham had the same injury so I think it will be a long time till we see the type of player he was becoming when the injury occurred. (I hope I'm wrong as his set pieces are quality)

18 Jan 2017 11:46:47
We were obviously right to be concerned last year about Dicko, Graham and Zyro. Looks like they'll never be the same.

18 Jan 2017 17:52:10
Just because Dicko is bad now doesn't mean zryo or Graham will be. I've got higher hopes for Zryo then Graham to be honest though as he really wants to be Wolves' first choice striker rather than a winger

18 Jan 2017 20:03:20
Graham had a set back apparently around October time I think

17 Jan 2017 12:35:20
Anyone else heard the rumour about Arouna Kone coming to wolves?

17 Jan 2017 12:50:48
Only what's in the paper, us and QPR linked?

17 Jan 2017 13:02:55
I saw it to I think he would be a good signing for anyone in the championship let alone us or QPR

17 Jan 2017 13:28:25
Lancs,

I saw that too. Wouldn't surprise me as we are unloading players and reducing the wage bill. QPR are strapped for cash, we're not We could be at the front of the queue for Kone, bit like a trade deal for the UK with Trump!

17 Jan 2017 14:21:16
"QPR have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Everton’s Arouna Kone on loan, according to GetWestLondon.

The newspaper understands that Everton want QPR to pay a “sizeable amount” of the striker’s £40,000-a-week wages, which the London club are not prepared to do.

Kone has made just six appearances this season under Ronald Koeman.

Kone suffered a serious knee injury in his first months on Merseyside and has been a bit-part player since for the Toffees.

His best moment for Everton came when he scored a hat trick against Sunderland last season. "

17 Jan 2017 15:00:11
Great player but very dodgy knee! might be fit to play Championship level, but big risk at 34 now.

18 Jan 2017 07:57:34
At £40k a week he is dodgy full stop. If he has a dodgy knew guess where the first tackles will go?

17 Jan 2017 00:18:22
Wolves are ready to pull the plug on Marshall deal and look elsewhere.

17 Jan 2017 08:13:32
The mls being league one standard. Are you sure?

Do you know how many international south americans play in the mls - or how usa football is progressing. The USA international team are as good as England, if not better.

At the end of the day the championship is an average league watched by a lot of people because of cultural influences. and because of that we think ours is the best - It isn't. I think that we have one of the most average leagues in existence. don't believe the hype!

17 Jan 2017 09:32:21
Its the 5th biggest league in the world enough said.

17 Jan 2017 09:33:55
Thething,

I'm not at all sure the MLS is League One standard, I did use a question mark. It's the general opinion but who knows? Lots of fans reckon the MLS/ SPL are roughly similar to League One, but probably the Championship is more the mark. That said, Robbie Keane would be on high wages anyway and that brings risks of unrest, as we saw in the past at Wolves.

17 Jan 2017 14:39:01
5th biggest league in the world. yes - in money terms - not quality.

You can go to almost any south american country and their top teams would wipe the floor with wolves, derby, newcastle. et al

17 Jan 2017 16:16:28
Thething I completely disagree with your opinion. I watch the Argentinean league when I go and visit my friend who lives there and I can tell you for a fact that the way we played against stoke, and other teams in the championship we could beat them comfortably let alone Newcastle and derby who are in the playoffs so your statement is incorrect.

17 Jan 2017 16:54:00
Yh that statement is way off now there more on league one standard then you get the odd good player just like league one

17 Jan 2017 17:44:07
SPL probably averages out at League 1. We wouldn't beat Celtic and, until a few years ago, Rangers. Hearts typically the 3rd best team and we're probably at least as good as them. But the bottom teams would be League 1 at best. Attendances are pretty dire.
